Production and Characterization of Biodiesel Fuel Derived from Neem Azadirachta Indica Seed using Two Cylinder Diesel Engine Model

As the decreasing availability of the fossil fuel is rising day by day, the search for alternate fuel that can be used as a substitute to the conventional fuels is rising rapidly. A new type of biofuel, Neem oil biodiesel, is introduced in this work for the purpose of fuelling diesel engine. Neem oil was extracted from neem seed by solvent extraction method and biodiesel was produced by transesterification method. The percentage yield of Neem oil and biodiesel were found to be 40 and 75 respectively. The properties were simulated in a model produced using GT power suite. The engine speed was varied and engine performance such as brake power, brake specific fuel consumption, brake mean effective pressure and the emission of biodiesel and petroleum diesel at various speed were determined and compared. The results show the improve performance of biodiesel. The performance characteristics of an engine were studied with biodiesel and petro diesel. The brake power 31.25 kW, brake torque 102.8 N mare found higher at 3600 rpm case 1 and 1200 rpm case 4 respectively. In biodiesel, specific fuel consumption is found more than the petro diesel and the CO and CO2 emission were found lower in biodiesel than petro diesel. The biodiesel have shown better performance than the petro diesel.

A Mobile Application for Bus E Ticketing System

In cities, the buses are the nerves of the cities. However, there are many bus operations, which were operated manually. The manual and traditional system takes a lot of time and the tickets cost being of odd amounts and many other different problems while buying tickets. Also in this advance world we are dependent on the paper tickets where the emergence of mobile devices are rapidly increasing among users so here is a solution. In proposed system ticket can be bought with just a smart phone application and, where you can carry your tickets in your smart phone. It uses the smart phones facility to validate and delete your ticket automatically after a specific interval of time. User's ticket information is stored in a database for security purpose which is missing in the present urban system. Also the ticket checker is provided with a mobile based application to search for the user's ticket with the ticket number which is stored in the database for checking purposes.

Evaluation of Efficiency and Performances of Building Materials used in Sudan Combined with Lead as the Gamma Ray Shieldings

In this study the linear attenuation coefficient µ and the half value layer HVL of some building materials like iron, concrete, cement and clay used in Sudan as a combined with the lead have been investigated, the results have been experimentally determined using Cs 137 and Co 60 source and compared with the theoretical values. The measurements were performed for radiation intensity without shielding and with specific thickness of selected samples using ion chamber placed at 2 meters from Cs 137 and Co 60. An obtained results showed that the linear attenuation coefficient µ has a linear relationship with the corresponding densities of the samples studied and inversely with photon energy, and the half value layer HVL was proportional directly with photon energy. As a results of this evaluation the lead combined with the selected materials as indicated above showed an improvement the efficiency of building materials as the gamma ray shielding.

Electronegativity A Force or Energy

Electronegativity as force or energy leads to new ansatz at critical point in binding or bonding state in between two similar atoms or dissimilar atoms. Electronegativity as a quantum mechanical entity energy or non quantum entity force is yet to be answered. The dual approach to electronegativity has been discussed in this paper. The aim of this paper is to prove that Electronegativity as Hellman Feynman Force is more accurate and absolute. Electronegativity has been computed using the Hartree Fock and Rothan Hrtree Fock energy equations and equivalent electrostatic force equation.

Determination of Drying Constants of Some Selected Roots and Tubers

In an attempt to easily determine the desired moisture content at any time t , of selected freshly harvested roots and tubers yellow cassava, carrot, cocoyam and yam of economic importance subjected to drying under unsteady temperature conditions such as sun drying, especially in the rural areas where there is no electricity or funds availability to acquire suitable drying equipment by local farmers the drying constants based on established model that is anchored on mass of the material
at any time t was carried out. In this study, three mass classifications, namely small, medium and large were prepared for each material and subjected to oven drying at a given temperature till bone dry mass. The experimental values obtained were computed and graphs plotted to obtain the slopes as drying constants of values 0.3114, 0.1092, 0.3736 and 0.3790 for bulk samples of yellow cassava, carrot, cocoyam and yam respectively.

A two Stage Fuzzy Logic Adaptive Traffic Signal Control for an Isolated Intersection Based on Real Data using SUMO Simulator

In this paper, a two stage fuzzy logic system has been proposed to control an isolated intersection adaptively. The aim of this work is to minimize the average waiting time for a different traffic flow rates in real time means. In the first stage, the system consists of two modules named next phase selection module and the green phase extension module. In the second stage the system consists of the decision named module. The study was performed using SUMO traffic simulator. A comparison is made between a fuzzy logic controller and a conventional fixed time controller. As a result, fuzzy logic controller has shown better performance.

Face Recognition Based Intelligent Door Control System

This paper presents the intelligent door control system based on face detection and recognition. This system can avoid the need to control by persons with the use of keys, security cards, password or pattern to open the door. The main objective is to develop a simple and fast recognition system for personal identification and face recognition to provide the security system. Face is a complex multidimensional structure and needs good computing techniques for recognition. The system is composed of two main parts face recognition and automatic door access control. It needs to detect the face before recognizing the face of the person. In face detection step, Viola Jones face detection algorithm is applied to detect the human face. Face recognition is implemented by using the Principal Component Analysis PCA and Neural Network. Image processing toolbox which is in MATLAB 2013a is used for the recognition process in this research. The PIC microcontroller is used to automatic door access control system by programming MikroC language. The door is opened automatically for the known person according to the result of verification in the MATLAB. On the other hand, the door remains closed for the unknown person.
