Case Study of Flood Risk Evaluation in Surat City

There are many ways a disaster come and create huge damages to human surroundings. Flood is one of them. But for the flood it can be said that flood is a horrible disaster which affect many of human beings, animals and properties. Till day many floods came to the all over world. In India also many flood came and created huge disturbances to humanitarians and flood came in 2006 August in Surat city of Gujarat is one of heavy floods in India. Flood in Surat came in August of 2006 and left a huge mark in history of Surat. In this article, it is been studied that how flood occurred in city, what actions city commission took during and after flood and how flood risk evaluation were been done.

A Review on Real Time Ethernet Communication For Robotic Arm Application

A real time Ethernet communication has become an important issue in electronics field regarding to various robotics applications. Nowadays, robots are increasingly being integrated into working tasks to replace humans specially to perform the repetitive task. These robots are currently used in many fields of applications including office, military tasks, hospital operations, dangerous environment and agriculture. So many researcher's have worked on different techniques with robotic arm application. In this context further review has been taken.

A Review on Motion Detection Techniques

Motion detection is the process of detecting moving objects in background images. Motion detection plays a fundamental role in any object tracking or video surveillance algorithm. The reliability with which potential foreground objects in movement can be identified, directly impacts on the efficiency and performance level achievable by subsequent processing stages of tracking or object recognition. The system automatically performs a task and gives alert to security in an area.

This paper represents review on Motion detection is an essential for many video applications such as video surveillance, military reconnaissance, and robotics. Most of these applications demand low power consumption, compact and lightweight design, and high speed computation platform for processing image data in real time.

Solving Image Thresholding Problem Using Hybrid Algorithm

Thresholding is a reputed image segmentationtechnique used to obtain binary image from the gray levelimage. In this paper, histogram based bi'“level and multi-levelsegmentation is proposed using Improved Particle SwarmOptimization (PSO) and Enhanced Bacterial ForagingOptimization (EBFO) based hybrid algorithm. The optimalthresholds for input images are attained by maximizing Otsu'sbetween class variance function. The performance of proposedmethod is demonstrated on four benchmark images andcompared with the existing PSO and BFO algorithms. Anassessment between HA, PSO, and BFO is carried usingprevailing parameters such as objective function, convergence rate, PSNR, and DSSIM.

Role of Panchayats in planning and implementation of Right to Work: A study of MGNREGA in District Budgam in Jammu & Kashmir

The Act known as National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) created a justifiable 'Å“Right to work' for all households in rural India. This Act renamed as the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) is an unprecedented intervention by the Government in reforming and reenergizing the (rural) labour market both by way of correcting the prevailing anomalies and in providing livelihood security to millions of rural poor.

In conflict-ridden Kashmir's rural areas that are caught in widespread poverty, vulnerability and lack of basic infrastructure, the launching of the NREGA brought a lot of hope and optimism. As in Kashmir society most of the rural poor are largely dependent on the prospects of agriculture sector which is facing the problems of productivity in absolute and relative terms in contemporary times because of climatic and other environmental and socio-cultural concerns. Thus the promised 100 days of guaranteed wage employment per household per annum at the stipulated minimum wages has not only reduced the rampant under and unemployment in Kashmir's rural areas, but also impacted the stagnant wage structure for the rural unskilled workers. MGNREGA is also a glaring example which has ensured community participation in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation (Social Audit).

It also aims at enabling the local bodies to move towards good governance through the transparency, accountability and participatory mechanisms. Even the efficacy of the institutional performance and active participation of the community determine the overall effectiveness of NREGS. However, after more than half a decade of policy implementation the only major available information source about the state '“ the 'Å“Government official figures' '“ do not show a healthy picture when compared to other parts of India and generate a lot of questions and ambiguity, addressing the dearth of ground level literature, which could have explained the myths and realities behind the fluctuating and comparatively low performing official estimates. This paper is a modest attempt in this direction to highlight the feasibility and contextual dilemmas of the MGNREGA in Kashmir with an empirical study of one of the most backward Districts of the Valley i.e. District Budgam.

It also analyses the official figures and their limitations and provides field reflections on some of the limitations in the proper implementation of the scheme. In addition to this it highlights the issues and challenges in the smooth functioning of the Panchayat Raj Institutions in the proper implementation of the scheme. The study has been carried out with a proper scientific methodology, and to elicit the relevant information the researchers have employed non participant observation and interviews with the stakeholders as key research methods. In summation from this study policy conclusions can be drawn based on a general analysis of the set-up, past experience and the findings from the field study

Calibration of Environmental Sensor Data Using a Linear Regression Technique

The linear regression is a linear approach for modeling the relationship between a scalar dependent variable y and one or more explanatory variables denoted X. A linear regression analysis method is used to improve the performance of the instruments using light scattering method. The data measured by these instruments have to be converted to actual PM10 concentrations using some factors. These findings propose that the instruments using light scattering method can be used to measure and control the PM10 concentrations of the underground subway stations.

In this study, the reliability of the instrument for PM measurement using light scattering method was improved with the help of a linear regression analysis technique to continuously measure the PM10 concentrations in the subway stations. In addition, the linear regression analysis technique was also applied to calibrate a radon counter with the help of an expensive radon measuring apparatus.

Serial Manipulator Design for an AG-Robot

At present observation all the industries are looking at Robotization, to increase productivity and quality. The industrial robots of today may not look the least bit like a human being although all the research is directed to provide more and more anthropomorphic and humanlike features and super-human capabilities. in these Robots can perform desired tasks in unstructured environments without continuous human guidance. Many kinds of robots are autonomous to some degree. In this paper explains about pick and Place Robot design with agriculture application which runs on human guidance. For this two servo motors are used to control the robot.

Micro Control of the robotic arm has been achieved successfully by using servo motors or dc motors. The microcontrollers implement inverse kinematics algorithms and implement position control on the motors.
