Prediction of Surface Roughness and Optimization of Machining Parameters in Drilling Process of Aluminum Alloy Al6061

In this paper, an experimental research was conducted to investigate the influence of the tool diameter, spindle speed, and feed rate on the surface roughness in hole drilling process. The Box Behken experimental matrix that was used with 15 experiments. The Minitab 16 software was used to evaluate the experimental results. The analyzed results showed that the spindle speed was a parameter that has the most important influence on the surface roughness. The second factors that affect on the surface roughness was tool diameter. And, the feed rate was the factor that has smallest effect on the surface roughness. The interaction factor between the tool diameter and the feed rate has the largest degree of the influence on the surface roughness, the second interaction factor that influenced on the surface roughness was the interaction between the diamter and the spindle speed. The interaction between the spindle speed and the feed rate has the smallest effect on the surface roughness. The suitable regression model of surface roughness is quadractic function. The predicted results of surface roughness are very close to the experimental values of that one. The genetic algorithm was used to find the optimal value of surface roughness. In this study, the optimum value of surface roughness was obtained for each case of drill tool diameter. The optimized cutting parameters was applied to improve the surface roughness with very satisfactory results. The optimum value of surface was quite small.

Experimental Study on High Performance Concrete by using Partial Replacement of Copper Slag and Fly Ash

The conventional concrete has lost its usage nowadays as it does not set out the present need. The term ‘High Performance’ is because of the essential usage, materials and proportions of this concrete are specifically chosen for properties such as high workability, high density and low permeability. The main objective of this study is to deal with the effects of cementitious materials in High Performance Concrete HPC for mix design of M40 grade concrete. Hence, copper slag which is the industrial by product is used as a partial replacement of fine aggregate by 0 , 15 , 30 , 45 , 60 and 75 with 20 of fly ash by the volume of cement with water cement ratio 0.36. Super plasticizer conplast SP430 is used as chemical admixture at the rate of 1.2 of cement which improves the workability. From this experimental study, so far the utilization of copper slag and fly ash observed with gradual improvement in mechanical properties such as compressive, split tensile and flexural strength in HPC. By evaluating the optimum percentage of copper slag,

Behaviour of Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer Composite in Flexure Shear Strength of Reinforced Concrete Beams

The corrosion of steel reinforcement in concrete reduces the life of structures, causes high repair costs and can endanger the structural integrity of the structure itself. Glass fibre reinforced polymer GFRP offers a number of advantages over steel especially when used in marine and other salt laden environments. GFRP reinforcing bars are gradually finding wider acceptance as a replacement for conventional steel reinforcement as it offers a number of advantages. Technical studies on a number of concrete structures, from five to eight years old and constructed with GFRP reinforcement, have shown that there is no degradation of the GFRP from the alkaline environment. Concrete is very strong in compression but it is extremely weak in tension. To resist the tensile stress, steel reinforcement is provided in concrete. Reinforcement corrosion and structural deterioration in reinforced concrete structures are common, and prompted many researchers to seek alternative materials and rehabilitation techniques. One such material that has been offered as an alternative to mild steel reinforcement is Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer GFRP bars and flats. For the repair and strengthening of structural concrete members, strengthening with Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer GFRP plates is an excellent option. The present work is to study the behavior of Shear resistance of the silica coated GFRP stirrups in the shear test zone. A series of studies were conducted using silica coated GFRP stirrups in shear zone. It is observed that beams with silica coated GFRP flats shear reinforcement have shown failure at higher loads than the theoretical failure loads. Further it is observed that GFRP flats as shear reinforcement exhibit fairly good ductility.

An Experimental Investigation on Concrete with Copper Slag using Corrosion Resistance Techniques

Now a days, the application of waste material usage in building materials has increased effectively. Copper slag is a by product created during the copper smelting and refining process. This material represents a popular alternative to sand. Natural sand is used from river bed for all construction stage. Decreasing natural resources create the environmental issues and hence restriction on sand resulted in scarcity and increased in its cost. After long investigation industries and investigator all over the world to explore the possible utilization of copper slag. This paper mainly shows the corrosion in concrete by using copper slag and preventive measures from corrosion. In this project M30 grade of concrete is used. Two different types of corrosion inhibitors were used calcium nitrate and concare . The influence of copper slag on concrete was investigated with respect to the properties of concrete in the fresh state workability and hardened state mechanical properties and durability . Strength properties of concrete increased 40 replacement of fine aggregate by using copper slag. However further addition of copper slag caused reduction in strength. From chemical composition of copper slag Fe2O3 present in more than 55 . So that here concrete itself getting corrode. Here corrosion inhibitors at the amount of 1 , 2 and 3 by the weight of cement in concrete having copper slag as a fine aggregate is used. Effect of this inhibitor was derived from gravimetric method.

Wireless Charging Solution of Mobile Phone Batteries using Microwaves via Cellular Communication

In todays era, mobile phones have become a basic part of our day to day lives and their phone side to excessive use of mobile phones leads to early drainage of mobile phones batteries which have been a great issue. The mobile talk time and battery stand by varies in every mobile phone and it depends upon its battery manufacturer. This proposes mid to facilitate the recharging of mobile batteries easily to the extent that the phone battery will get recharge wireless via cellular communication. This means that whenever the user is on call, the phone will charge automatically. This technology is an application of RF energy harvesting. Since the availability of RF energy in our surroundings is abundant. In earlier times too, it was a belief that wireless charging replaces wires and cables like how Bluetooth and Wi Fi have modernized personal communication. The prevailing methods of wireless charging highly depend upon the concept of inductive and resonance coupling using the electromagnetic field that transfers energy from the transmitter to the receiver. The main focus of this proposed solution is to design a system that recharges the mobile phone batteries via cellular communication and independent of their battery manufacturer and type of cables and wires used for a particular USB port. This entire process is done by the employment of microwaves and RF energy harvesting in an eco friendly way. The microwave signal is transmitted from the high power microwave generator Magnetor which acts as a transmitter with the help of a slotted waveguide antenna and transmits the power along with the message signal at a frequency up to 2.45GHz. With this advancement, there is some minimal addition to the hardware design of the mobile handset. It includes the addition of a Rectenna which is a mesh network of rectifying diode, rectifying filter, and sensor circuitry. Further, the advantages, limitations and drawbacks and future improvements associated with wireless charging of mobile phones are discussed in this paper.

Interpretation of Sadhu into Cholit Bhasha by Cataloguing and Translation System

Sadhu and Cholit bhasha are two significant Bangladeshi languages. Sadhu was functional in ancient era and had Sanskrit components but in present era cholit took its place. There are many formal and legal paper works present in Sadhu language which direly need to be translated in Cholit because its more favorable and speaker friendly. Therefore, this paper dealt with this issue by familiarizing the current era with Sadhu by creating a software. Different sentences were chosen and final data set was obtained by Principal Component Analysis PCA . MATLAB and Python are used for different machine learning algorithms. Most work is being done using Scikit Learn and MATLAB machine learning toolbox. It was found that Linear Discriminant Analysis LDA functions best. Speed prediction was also done and values were determined through graphs. It was inferred that this categorizer efficiently translated all Sadhu words to Cholit precisely and in well structured way. Therefore, Sadhu will not remain a complex language in this decade.

Comparative Study on Effective Turbulence Model for NACA0012 Airfoil using Spalart – Allmaras as a Benchmark

The present work is dedicated to conduct a comparative study on identifying the effective turbulence model in terms of flow outlet velocity, error percentage, number of iterations and time coefficient using NACA0012 airfoil by considering Spalart – Allmaras as a reference model. The current study considers 12 different turbulence models including Spalart – Allmaras for obtaining the output characteristics individually. The turbulence models in existence such as Standard K epsilon, RNG K epsilon, Realizable variant of K epsilon, Standard K Omega, SST K Omega, BSL K Omega, Transition K KL Omega, Transition SST, Reynolds Stress Linear Pressure Strain , Reynolds Stress Quadratic Pressure Strain , Reynolds stress Stress Omega have been utilized for the evaluation and comparison. The NACA0012 airfoil is modelled using CATIA and the meshed model of the airfoil is analyzed using ANSYS FLUENT under standard boundary conditions. The results obtained have shown that the Standard K – epsilon model is found to have less error percentage in comparison to other turbulence models. The count over the number of iterations taken reveals that the models such as Standard K omega, SST K omega and BSL K omega has shown the least number of iterations compared to rest of the turbulence models for completing the analysis. The time coefficient calculation shows that Standard K omega and SST K omega ranks top by showing less time for conducting the analysis with 77.92 seconds and the maximum time was shown by the Reynolds’s stress models considered in the study.

Review of Deep Neural Network Detectors in SM MIMO System

A deep neural network detector for SM MIMO has been proposed. Its detection principle is deep learning. For this a neural network must be trained first, and then used for detection purpose. It doesn’t need any channel model and instantaneous channel state information CSI . It can provide better bit error performance compared with conventional viterbi detector VD and also it can detect any length of sequences. For a MIMO system, the channel estimation complexity can be avoided. It can detect in real time as arrives the receiver. The main benefit is it can be used where the channel model is difficult to design and also the channel is continuously varying with time. Ruksana. P | Radhika. Secured Intrusion Protection System through EAACK in MANETS

Achieving reliable routing has always been a major issue in the design of communication networks, due to the absence of fixed infrastructure among which mobile ad hoc networks MANETs that can take control of the most adversarial networking environment, and the dynamic network topology the nature of open transmission media. In the MANETs these characteristics also more challenging to make the design of routing protocols. The network topology varies so to determining feasible routing paths for distributing messages in a decentralized is a difficult job. Factors such as the extensive distribution of nodes and open medium, variable wireless link quality topological changes, and propagation path loss become pertinent issues and make MANET unprotected to instructions. Thus, it becomes central to develop a systematic intrusion detection scheme to secure Mobile Ad Hoc networks from intruders. In this project, we put forward and applied an efficient IDS mechanism based on Enhanced Adaptive Acknowledgment EAACK especially made for MANETs which performs better than the earlier techniques such as AACK, TWOACK and Watchdog.

This paper deal with the speed response characteristics analysis of brushless dc motor under different load variations. BLDC drive are widely used motors now a days due to its good speed control characteristics and high efficiency which improves the performance of motor. PI controller is used in motor operation to maintain the constant speed. The analysis is carried out in three different type of load condition which are given as under load, rated load and overload conditions. The performance of BLDC motor is observed through speed, current, back emf and torque response. To evaluate the result appropriate value of Kp and Ki of controller has been taken in order to get the better result for characteristics parameter of the speed response of BLDC motor. The result are then calculated mathematically and analysed according to the load variations. The required model has been developed using Simulink Matlab and speed torque characteristics graph is also analysed using PI controller.

An Automated ECG Signal Diagnosing Methodology using Random Forest Classification with Quality Aware Techniques

In this project, we put forward a new automated quality aware ECG beat classification method for effectual diagnosis of ECG arrhythmias under unsubstantiated health concern environments. The suggested method contains three foremost junctures i ECG signal quality assessment ECG SQA based whether it is “acceptable” or “unacceptable” based on our preceding adapted complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition CEEMD and temporal features, ii reconstruction of ECG signal and R peak detection iii the ECG beat classification as well as the ECG beat extraction, beat alignment and Random forest RF based beat classification. The accuracy and robustness of the anticipated method is evaluated by means of different normal and abnormal ECG signals taken from the standard MIT BIH arrhythmia database. The suggested ECG beat extraction approach can recover the categorization accuracy by protecting the QRS complex portion and background noises is suppressed under an acceptable level of noise . The quality aware ECG beat classification techniques attains higher kappa values for the classification accuracies which can be reliable as evaluated to the heartbeat classification methods without the ECG quality assessment process.

Importance of Solar Energy in Day to Day Life

The natural world has used the sun’s energy since the beginning of time, and while there has been lots of discussion about this, the truth is that the sun is both a problem and a solution. Solar energy is an unchanging constant – a staple in Earth’s very existence. The sun may not have changed, but our understanding of it has. We are now harnessing its energy to replace traditional methods that have taken a toll on the planet. Instead of burning fossil fuels like coal and natural gas, consumers can take advantage of the infinite energy of the sun to power homes, cars, and appliances. Explore these five everyday uses of solar energy to see how this resource can transform your future, not just the future.

Operating CNC and Laser Machine Everywhere using IoT

Computer numerical control CNC is programmed code that represents instructions for precise movements to be carried out by machines. Indirectly, this code defines how to automatically create, produce, or transform a virtual object into a real one. Laser GRBL is one of the best Windows GCodestreamer for DIY Laser Engraver. Laser GRBL can load and stream GCode path to Arduino, as well as engrave images, pictures and logo with the internal conversion tool. grbl is a fantastically simple and economical g code interpreter and CNC stepper motor controller for the Arduino, there doesn’t seem to be much information on how an average or new Arduino user should interface with it or how it works internally.

Study of Boundary Value Analysis in Structural Engineering and Fluid Mechanics using Homotopy Perturbation

This paper presents a focused study on properties of porous concrete to widen its application to structural engineering. Mechanical properties like compressive strength, indirect tensile strength, flexural strength and physical properties like density, permeability and porosity are studied. To determine those parameters, twenty seven cubes, cylinders and prisms were tested. Also, three polymer impregnated porous concrete slabs were tested under pure bending moment to study the efficiency of selected resin to integrate particle of concrete to achieve a new generation in using porous concrete in structural engineering. Three different cement content specimens of porous concrete were considered, studied cement contents are 200 kg m3, 300 kg m3 and 400 kg m3. The results show that, increasing the cement content can increase the compressive strength, indirect tensile strength and flexural strength. Density of porous concrete is less than conventional concrete by 21 but permeability factor recorded higher value compared to conventional concrete by sixteen times. Increasing the cement content has no significant effect on either ultimate load or maximum deflection of polymer impregnated porous concrete slabs but the results recorded an achievement to use this concrete in structural engineering applications and give an easy way to cast special concrete like polymer concrete without special tools.

Power Quality Improvement using Shunt Active Power Filter

Nowadays, usage of non linear loads in power system is increasing. For example, UPS, inverters, converters, etc. These loads make the supply current non sinusoidal and distorted form, which is called harmonics. At this time Active power filters have been developed to improve power quality. In this Paper, a Shunt Active Power Filter SAPF control scheme has proposed to eliminate the current harmonics and improve the power quality. The shunt active power filter controlled by using the different controllers such as PI, PID, Fuzzy logic, Pq Theory and hysteresis controller . In our proposed system, PI controller is used to reduce the harmonics current using the shunt active power filter. And both current THD results are compared, with and without use of filter and then shown how filters can reduce THD and is most suitable to control the shunt active power filter in term of total harmonic reduction THD . MATLAB SIMULINK power system toolbox is used to simulate the proposed system.

Analysis of Construction Criteria on Suspension Bridge A Perspective View

A bridge is a structure built to span a valley, road, body of water, or other physical obstacle, for the purpose of providing passage over the obstacle. Nowadays suspension bridges are the pioneers in bridge technology. Of all the bridge types in use today, the suspension bridge allows for the longest span ranging from 2,000 to 7,000 feet. This type of bridge has cables suspended between towers and the cables support vertical suspender cables that carry the weight of the deck below. This arrangement allows the deck to be level or to arc upward for additional clearance. They are ideal for covering busy waterways. In this paper limitation, assumption analysis, how it can be constructing and loads acting on the bridge is described.

Design and Implementation of Smart Solar Lamp with Automation

This paper proposes design and implementation of energy efficient smart solar lamp with automatic turn on or off mechanism for outdoor lighting purpose. The main objective is to design energy efficient smart solar lamp for energy conservation in existing lighting system in rural area, urban area and exclusively for smart cities. The system consists of LED luminaire, solar panel, light sensor, motion sensor, battery. The smart solar lamp’s lighting is controlled on the basis of motion in it’s surrounding and day night time. The system is design to automatically turn off during the hours of daylight and only operate during the night or when the light intensity is very low. Many times we see that our outdoor lights are remain switched ON even during day time, this is total of wastes of electricity while India is facing lack of electricity. Another problem is the traditional lamp e.g. Sodium vapour, Metal halide, Incandescent, Fluorescent lamps consumes more power as compared to new advanced Led Lights. Smart solar lamp can be operated free of cost by using automatic controlled and self powered.

Classification and Detection of Vehicles using Deep Learning

The vehicle classification and detecting its license plate are important tasks in intelligent security and transportation systems. The traditional methods of vehicle classification and detection are highly complex which provides coarse grained results due to suffering from limited viewpoints. Because of the latest achievements of Deep Learning, it was successfully applied to image classification and detection of objects. This paper presents a method based on a convolutional neural network, which consists of two steps vehicle classification and vehicle license plate recognition. Several typical neural network modules have been applied in training and testing the vehicle Classification and detection of license plate model, such as CNN convolutional neural networks , TensorFlow, Tesseract OCR. The proposed method can identify the vehicle type, number plate and other information accurately. This model provides security and log details regarding vehicles by using AI Surveillance. It guides the surveillance operators and assists human resources. With the help of the original training dataset and enriched testing dataset, the algorithm can obtain results with an average accuracy of about 97.32 in the classification and detection of vehicles. By increasing the amount of the data, the mean error and misclassification rate gradually decreases. So, this algorithm which is based on Deep Learning has good superiority and adaptability. When compared to the leading methods in the challenging Image datasets, our deep learning approach obtains highly competitive results. Finally, this paper proposes modern methods for the improvement of the algorithm and prospects the development direction of deep learning in the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Study of an Innovative Construction Material - “Basalt Fiber”

Basalt fiber BCF is an inorganic fiber material. It is an all natural material and originates from volcanic rock. Basalt rock is melted at high temperature 1450° C and rapidly drawn into a continuous fiber. It then can be chopped into various lengths. Its color can vary between brown, gold, or gray. The basic characteristics of Basalt materials are high temperature resistance, high corrosion resistance, resistance to acids and alkalis, high strength and thermal stability. Basalt materials can be used as a reinforcing composite material for the construction industry, specifically as a less expensive alternative to other fiber. In addition to high specific strength, high specific modulus, BCF also has excellent temperature resistance 260~700 , anti oxidation, anti radiation, thermal and sound insulation, filtration, anti compression strength and high shear strength, high availability, and good cost performance. It is found in nature as an inorganic non metal material and is a new basic material and high tech fiber that can satisfy the demand for the development of basic infrastructures.

Linearity of Feature Extraction Techniques for Medical Images by using Scale Invariant Feature Transform

In Machine Learning, Pattern Recognition and in the field of image processing, Feature Extraction starts from an initial set of the measured data. Builds derived values are intended to be informative and non redundant, facilating the subsequent learning and in some cases leading to the better human interpretations. Feature Extraction is a dimensionally reduction process, where an initial set of raw variables has been reduced to more manageable groups. Many data analysis software packages provide for feature extraction and for dimension reduction. Determining a subset of the initial features is also known as feature extraction. Common Numerical programming environments are MATLAB, SciLab, NumPy, etc.
