Implementation of a Microcontroller Based Wireless Control of Domestic Electrical Appliances using the GSM Network

In this paper, the automatic control of domestic electrical appliances using a wireless network is presented. The wireless network of choice is the Global system for mobile communication, GSM. This paper presents a methodology that the communication can be extended even to inanimate devices like domestic electrical appliances such as radio, refrigerator, TV, light bulbs etc. the methodology entails the use of the feature of the GSM phone known as dual tone multi frequency DTMF. This DTMF tones are automatically generated when the buttons of a mobile phone is pressed. A DTMF to binary converter integrated circuit was used to convert the DTMF tones into binary format which is fed into the I O ports of an 8052 microcontroller. A resident program enables the DTMF codes that are received to be used to control electrical appliances. The system also has a unique feature that after an action is performed it sends back an audio tone to inform the user about the success or failure of the execution of the command.

Comparative Analysis of Green Algorithm within Active Queue Management for Mobile Ad Hoc Network

The Queue Management Techniques play an important role in improving the Quality of Service in Mobile Ad hoc Networks. The need of congestion control and Queue management is inevitable in Mobile Ad hoc Network. Understanding and analyzing the latest AQM Techniques give an insight to improving throughput, packet loss rate, average end to end delay and other parameters that severely affect the performance. The performance of mobile ad hoc networks is evaluated by varying the Channel Error Rate, Bandwidth and Delay at different fragment sizes of different traffic flows. The proposed method performs the network analysis of new Routing protocols. The work proposes to evaluate various Active Queue Management Techniques in a multi traffic environment i.e., sources generating both TCP and UDP traffic classes. The UDP is propagated via CBR and TCP is propagated via FTP. The implementation of the proposed queue management technique has been done in NS 2. In the proposed work we have make NS 2 compatible with GREEN by integrating source code into the ns 2 installation files and using various AQMs in comparison with GREEN to calculate the throughput at various Bandwidths across network. Using various AQMs in comparison with GREEN we have calculated the throughput at various Delays across the network and we have also calculated the throughput at various channels Error Rate across the network. The proposed method has been compared with other primitive AQM techniques so that a repository of best available results can be obtained for design and research purposes. The proposed method has outperformed the existing queue management techniques in number of scenarios.

Security Issues and the Energy Consumption in the Optical Burst Switched Networks

Optical burst switching is an optical network technology that helps in improving the use of the optical networks resources. In OCS, the network is configured to establish a circuit, from an entry to an exit node, by adjusting the optical cross connects circuits in the core routers in a manner that the data signal, in an optical form, can travel in an all optical manner from source to destination node. This approach suffers from all the disadvantages known to circuit switching the circuits require time to set up and to destroy, and while the circuit is established, the resources will not be efficiently used to the unpredictable nature of network traffic. Security is one of the major problems in field of networks. Mainly this work focused on security issues in optical burst switching and to decreased the energy consumption. In this research work, a secure public key cryptography technique is proposed and evaluated as a security solution to measure security threats related to burst packet in optical burst switching networks.

Improving Properties of Concrete Replacing Cement and Natural Sand with Metakolin and Robo Sand

Concrete is the most extensively used construction material in the world, which consumes natural resources like lime, aggregates and water. The worldwide production of cement has greatly increased, due to this production environmental pollution increases with emission of CO2 gas. To reduce this effect cement was replaced by some supplementary materials like Metakaolin, Fly ash, Bottom Ash, Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag GGBS and Rice Husk etc.. In this content Metakaolin was a pozzolanic material used in wide range in replacement of cement. Metakaolin is dehydroxylated aluminum silicate, due to its pozzolanic activity the strength properties and durability properties of concrete increases and reduction in Porosity and Permeability also. Now a day's availability of natural sand is constraint, so alternative material called ROBO Sand having similar properties as that Natural Sand is used in place of Natural sand to study the fresh and hardened properties of concrete. In this present investigation cement is replaced partially with metakaolin in varying percentage i.e. 0 , 6 , 12 , 18 and 24 and natural sand with 45 ROBO sand to get the different concrete mixes. The fresh and mechanical properties of concrete i.e. workability slump test and compressive strength, split tensile strength and flexural strength at 7 days, 28 days and 56 days are studied of the different concrete mixes and results are compared with conventional concrete.

QR Code Based Secure Billing System for Shops using Cued Click Points

In today's Mall shopping system, the users usually visit the mall for shopping di erent products and spend their valuable time in searching the products and the products in their price range. After selecting the product the users have to wait in a long queue for billing which is another time consuming part of shopping, and moving the cart from one place to another place is another hectic task. In this system the user's time and searching for products in the entire mall increases. So, we are working on this system to avoid these drawbacks. The drawbacks in the existing system are, rstly the time required for bill payment is more as the users have to wait in a long queue. Secondly, the users have to move the cart through the entire mall and carry a load of products at their home. One more drawback is regarding the barcode in which less data is stored. In view of the mobile phone has become popular consumer products, a simple optimization method was given to design shopping guide systems run on smartphones, with the help of QR code generation and recognition technology, wherein, we can store more data using the QR code. The proposed programs can show accurate and real time shopping destination, thus help shopping mall to mine customer data more accurately and scienti cally. In our system we are going to use QR code for every product using QR code generator, a user goes for shopping and wants to purchase a product, he will scan the QR code of the product using QR code scanner, from his Android device and he will get list of all the similar products in that range and any o ers and discounts related to that product, this is done using searching and sorting algorithms. Once the user scans and adds the product to the cart the data gets fed to the server and the bill gets generated after adding all the products to the cart. The bill is sent to the user on his device and the products are delivered home and also bill payment is done online. Nowadays it is di cult to deal with the text based password. As text can be easily detected, or if it is known then its risky to deal with such things when we have con dential systems with us. We can overcome this problem with the help of a graphical password with cued click points. This graphical password will be really helpful to secure the con dential systems. Cued click points are the concept in which Persuasive Cued Click points graphical password scheme which includes usability as well as security evaluations. There are a lot of e ects that are most well known about passwords such as that user cannot memorize complicated passwords which are simple to identify.

Design for Harvesting and Treatment of Rainwater in Naval, Biliran

The study takes advantage of rainwater, a naturally processed water. Developing a design for an affordable, less chemically oriented method that would help many people gain access to the water they need easily. The design used materials that w
ere cheap and can be easily accessed on the local market. The process starts from a stage where large particles of contaminants were removed through straining. The next was iltering the water through a sequence of sponge, charcoal, coarse and fine sand. And lastly was chlorination, which treated the rainwater from the bacteria's which were previously not removed from the filter. The study came up with the design that were easily availed on the local markets of Naval, Biliran. The components were easy to install and were effective in harvesting rainwater. The treatment results were not what the researchers envisioned it to be, but still they were able to produce safe drinking water. Sure enough, it could be an alternative for other uses aside from drinking. The design was incomplete, especially on the part of the treatment device thus, further studies are recommended for its improvement. Nevertheless, the study proved that simple customized rainwater harvester and treatment device is achievable with the materials that can easily be found on the local market.

A Mobile Application for Bus E Ticketing System

In cities, the buses are the nerves of the cities. However, there are many bus operations, which were operated manually. The manual and traditional system takes a lot of time and the tickets cost being of odd amounts and many other different problems while buying tickets. Also in this advance world we are dependent on the paper tickets where the emergence of mobile devices are rapidly increasing among users so here is a solution. In proposed system ticket can be bought with just a smart phone application and, where you can carry your tickets in your smart phone. It uses the smart phones facility to validate and delete your ticket automatically after a specific interval of time. User's ticket information is stored in a database for security purpose which is missing in the present urban system. Also the ticket checker is provided with a mobile based application to search for the user's ticket with the ticket number which is stored in the database for checking purposes.

Evaluation of Efficiency and Performances of Building Materials used in Sudan Combined with Lead as the Gamma Ray Shieldings

In this study the linear attenuation coefficient ร‚ยต and the half value layer HVL of some building materials like iron, concrete, cement and clay used in Sudan as a combined with the lead have been investigated, the results have been experimentally determined using Cs 137 and Co 60 source and compared with the theoretical values. The measurements were performed for radiation intensity without shielding and with specific thickness of selected samples using ion chamber placed at 2 meters from Cs 137 and Co 60. An obtained results showed that the linear attenuation coefficient ร‚ยต has a linear relationship with the corresponding densities of the samples studied and inversely with photon energy, and the half value layer HVL was proportional directly with photon energy. As a results of this evaluation the lead combined with the selected materials as indicated above showed an improvement the efficiency of building materials as the gamma ray shielding.

Electronegativity A Force or Energy

Electronegativity as force or energy leads to new ansatz at critical point in binding or bonding state in between two similar atoms or dissimilar atoms. Electronegativity as a quantum mechanical entity energy or non quantum entity force is yet to be answered. The dual approach to electronegativity has been discussed in this paper. The aim of this paper is to prove that Electronegativity as Hellman Feynman Force is more accurate and absolute. Electronegativity has been computed using the Hartree Fock and Rothan Hrtree Fock energy equations and equivalent electrostatic force equation.

Harmonics Reduction and Power Factor Improvement of Switch Mode Power Supply by Using Zeta Converter

This article describes the topology of a DC DC converter operating in switching mode on off . During the completion of the switching cycle, the entire current flow may be resolved and the load may be left. Under these conditions, the initial conventional upconverter switches are heavily loaded and result in large power losses. Switches with boost converters provide low loss, high output voltage, high efficiency, small size, reduced electromagnetic interface EMI , and low voltage components for power supplies.

Spectrum Sharing Analysis of Cognitive System Through Enery Harvesting and Interference Negligence Technique

In this letter, a novel approach for solving the power and spectrum issues in wireless sensor network WSN has been proposed. Typically, a deployed sensor node is programmed to periodically send the data to the central base station CBS . Moreover, most of the sensor nodes are deployed in a hostile environment where replacing a power supply may not be feasible. In the proposed work, we intend to solve the dual problem of spectrum and power for WSN by utilizing techniques such as cooperative spectrum sharing CSS and RF radio frequency energy harvesting, respectively. Specifically, by characterizing the WSN as an energy constrained secondary user, which will harvest power and spectrum from the primary user, we have shown that significant performance gains can be obtained for both primary and secondary users. Closed form expressions for outage prob ability under a Nakagami fading channel have been derived for both primary and secondary users. Furthermore, the theoretical results have been compared with simulation results to validate the proposed analysis.

Structural and Vibration Analysis of a Machine Shaft using Finite Element Analysis

The present study is a simulation of a machine shaft. The study will be done on FEM simulation software called Ansys 14.5, where a modal would be developed which will undergo a process of meshing. Meshing will divide the modal in extremely small units without changing the shape of actual geometry which will help the software to study the change at every small unit of the model. Then the of the modal would be defined in terms of inlet and outlet thereafter the boundary condition and design equation would be applied to get the desired result.

An Efficient Virtual Memory using Graceful Code

Memory is hardware that is used by computer to load the operating system and run programs. It is buildup of RAM chip that has different memory modules. The amount of main memory in a computer is limited to the amount of RAM that has installed. Generally memory sizes are 256 MB, 512 MB, and 1 GB, because of computer has limited amount of RAM. When too many programs are simultaneously it is possible to run a program out of memory. This is the concept where virtual memory comes. Virtual memory enhance the available memory of a computer has by enlarging the address space or place in memory where data can be stored. Hard disk is used for additional memory allocation .However, since secondary storage is much slower than the RAM, program which is in Virtual Memory must be mapped back to virtual memory in order to be used. The process of mapping data and forth between the hard disc and RAM takes longer than accessing it directly from the memory. It means virtual memory is increased, the more it will slow your computer down. While virtual memory enables your computer to run more than one program it could, otherwise it is the best way to having as main memory as possible.

Steering Control Adaptive Headlight using Sensor

Nowadays, road safety is one of the priority of the government to avoid accidents. Road safety adopts those methods that can prevent road users from being seriously injured or killed. Most of the accidents happened during night time when the driver is unable to see its path clearly especially during blind cuts on roads and on hilly areas. In the conventional headlight's beam of light is focussed only in a single direction that is only in front direction. Our present invention provides a more degree of freedom to the front light which enables these lights to synchronize with the rotation of steering using infrared sensor controlled by microcontroller.

Phrase Structure Identification and Classification of Sentences using Deep Learning

Phrase structure is the arrangement of words in a specific order based on the constraints of a specified language. This arrangement is based on some phrase structure rules which are according to the productions in context free grammar. The identification of the phrase structure can be done by breaking the specified natural language sentence into its constituents that may be lexical and phrasal categories. These phrase structures can be identified using parsing of the sentences which is nothing but syntactic analysis. The proposed system deals with this problem using Deep Learning strategy. Instead of using Rule Based technique, supervised learning with sequence labelling is done using IOB labelling. This is a sequence classification problem which has been trained and modeled using RNN LSTM. The proposed work has shown a considerable result and can be applied in many applications of NLP.
