Detailed Comparative Case Study on Environmentally Sustainable Building

The world over, evidence is growing that green buildings bring multiple benefits. They provide some of the most effective means to achieving a range of global goals, such as addressing climate change, creating sustainable and thriving communities, and driving economic growth. The benefits of green buildings can be grouped within three categories environmental, economic and social. In this paper we concluded that the 1. Green building is an eco friendly and most importantly favorable to environment that more people need to adopt. 2. Global warming and energy crises cannot be solved in one or two years. 3. Green technology will definitely be the solution that gets the potential in helping is to solve those problems and improve our environment. 4. Building energy consumption has accounted for about 45 of final energy of society. If the building can reduce energy consumption by 50 during the process of using, then it can make a contribution that can reduce 14 of final energy of whole society.

An Experimental Study on Stabilization Modification of Locally Available Expansive Soil using Industrial Wastes

Expansive soils are produced from the break down of basic igneous rocks where seasonal variation of weather is extreme. In India, these soils are normally derived from the weathering of basalt rocks. Also, these soil deposits are derived from various other types of rocks including very old sedimentary depositsin the present research, an attempt has been made to study the stabilization of the local soils high and low expansive having low bearing strength from two different parts of Bhopal by mixing independently with dolochar and fly ash plentily available in Bhopal in the proportions from 5 up to 30 by dry weight of the mixture with increment of 5 with and without lime The experimental programme conducted in this study is comprised of index tests, compaction tests, shear tests, unconfined compressive strength tests, CBR tests and consolidation tests in conformity with approved standards on soil alone and also on stabilised soils to evaluate their individual swelling, compaction, strength, compressibility and drainage characteristics. With addition of fly ash or dolochar, the L.L. and P.I. of soils gradually decreases with the increase of fly ash or dolochar contents. Maximum decrease is observed at 30 fly ash or 30 dolochar content Addition of fly ash or dolochar decreases the free swell index FSI of soil, maximum decrease being observed at fly ash or dolochar content of 30 . Addition of lime to the above mixtures, reduces FSI further. The FSI of soil 1 with 30 fly ash or dolochar content is reduced by 100 and 85 for soil fly ash and soil dolochar mixture respectively at 4 lime content. CBR of soil fly ash or soil dolochar increases with the increase of fly ash or dolochar content. The maximum increase being observed at 30 fly ash or dolochar content. At 30 fly ash content, the 4 days soaked CBR of soil 1 and soil 2 increase by 126 and 117 respectively, whereas, the 4 days soaked CBR of soil 1 and soil 2 at 30 dolochar content increase by 154 and 163 respectively.

Effectual P and O Perturb and Observe Algorithm Based MPPT Control for Islanded Micro Grid

According to scientific research a big concern for mankind that the atmospheric change caused by the utilization or the consumption of fossil fuels provides us a great opportunity to make the renewable energy concept one of the interesting research areas. The higher authorities of all the countries or nations encourage the society through a proper way likewise seminars, conferences, printed media, etc to utilize the renewable energy resources in a predetermined manner. Global warming also is a big concern for our mankind, we need to step up as early as possible in order to utilize natural resources so that we can get more and more benefits, but care must be taken in order to preserve our atmosphere. It has been found that renewable energy has recorded the most significant development around the globe. According to the survey report, about 24 of the world’s electricity is produced by Renewable Energy resources, this implies that about ¼ th part of electricity is generated from REs’s whereas 76 of latest renewable installation goes in favor of photovoltaic PV and wind turbine WT systems. Efforts are being made towards research on hybrid renewable resources that are used for purpose of microgrids. Renewable based microgrids DC proposes a characteristic feature of utilizing natural resources with the help of energy management techniques. Stringent control is needed for hybrid type microgrids such as wind and PV based for harnessing maximum available energy, energy storage system like batteries demands efficient management and the DC bus voltage should remain constant. These above based requirements are fulfilled by the MPPT control algorithm in our project, so it provides intelligence to the system and makes the microgrids reliable.

Design and Development of Catalytic Converter for Reduction of Pollution by Using Transient and CFD Analysis

The use of fossil fuels in automobiles mainly HC, CO and NOX which produce harmful green house gases. The main objective of catalytic converter is to reduce and control effect of harmful pollutants by converting toxic CO and NOX to non toxic CO2and H2O. CFD analysis is done in the present study of catalytic converter by taking three different materials for the make of catalytic converter such as stainless steel, Grey cast iron and aluminum at the time by varying different fluids such as methane, ethane and nitrogen at varying speeds of 2000 and2500R.P.M.

Design of Earthing in Underground Substation using ETAP with Constraints

This paper describes the earthing design of a distribution substation 33kV 415V, 50Hz system. in this type of substation equipment’s are 33kV HV panel, transformer, battery, battery charger and Low voltage panels. The earth mat is below substation which is almost 15 18 Meter deep from ground level. The main considerable factors for earth mat design are soil resistivity which is higher due to basalt rock and system fault current. Fault current level of the system considered as 70kA derived from calculations. Earthing is essential for proper functioning of substation equipment’s and in the absence of proper designing affects in many ways like electric shock to personnel’s and malfunctions and damage to the equipment’s. The basic purpose of earthing is to ensure personnel safety, safe and reliable operation of equipment’s, prevent stray current, protection against interferences and keeps steps and touch potential within safe limit. This paper also discussed constraint in design due to below ground level. Result of manual calculation compared with design simulated through ETAP software version 19. The data used in design considered from a substation in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Monitoring and Evaluating the Contribution of the Rural Development in India and Master Plan for Development of MULHER Village

The rural development generally refers to the process of improving guarantee of life and economic welfare of people living in relatively isolated and sparsely polluted in India, out of total population of 131 crores, 83.3 crores live in rural area. Thus, nearly 70 percent of the India’s population lives in rural, these populations can be characterized by mass Poverty, high level of unemployment, low level of literacy and income, high of unemployment and poor nutrition and health status. In order to tackle these specific problems a number of rural development programs are being implemented to create opportunities for improvement of the quality of life of these rural people. In this paper, various rural development schemes, policies and programs proposed by government are discussed in detail. An ideal master plan of MULHER village is also developed further to show the shadow of ideal village. Most poor people live in rural areas of developing countries and are dependent on agriculture for their livelihood. The pressure such as population growth, modernization, ethnic conflicts and environmental degradation are factors that are forcing local inhabitants to change their way of life. Under such circumstances we try to give a solution of various problems of rural peoples.
