Optimization of Heat Transfer Process Parameters for Heat Sink using CFD

As secondary source of heat transfer, heat sinks are primarily used. Heat generated by various equipments is first transferred to heat sink via conduction, after that heat is transferred to the environment. Heat sinks are thus used to maintain temperature of equipments under desirable range. CFD has recently emerged as an effective tool to judge performance of any equipment in design phase. CFD can also be used for design optimisation of heat sink also. In the present work, CFD analysis of heat sink has been carried out to find out the effect of change in air velocity. Effect of different materials used for the construction of heat sink on heat transfer aluminium alloys that is AA 6063, AA 6061, AA 6060 and AA 1050 has been carried out. It has been found that material AA 1050 shows the maximum heat transfer as compared to other materials. The work has also been carried out for various thicknesses of base metals. It has been found that heat sink having 10 mm base thickness has maximum heat transfer.

A Research on Polymer Modified Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete Bagasse

This research describes the results of using modified concrete made from steel fibers in Styrene Butadiene Rubber SBR . The study reported the different characteristics and compressive strength of latex reinforced steel fibre modified concrete. Latex modified concrete is known as portland cement and combined with polymers dispersed in water when mixed. This is considered a resin dispersion. Polymers such as natural rubber concrete latex increase resistance to carbonation and penetration of chloride. Polymer can boost properties such as higher strength and lower water permeability than standard concrete when used as an admixture. Because of a low strength level of concrete, steel fibers have been applied to concrete to enhance its stress characteristics. The concrete specimens of polymers were cast and tested to enhance certain mechanical and physical properties, such as friction, tensile strengths, bending strengths and operation efficiency. For our work, we used Styrene Butadiene rubber latex polymer and hooked end steel fibers. At an interval of 0,5 , the percentage of steel fibers used was 0 percent, 0,5 , 1 percent. In percentage 5 percent, 10 percent, 15 percent, was taken from the steel fiber produced best and latex produced maximum power. 24 beam 500 mm X 100 mm X 100 mm is made of a total of 24 cubes, 150 mm x 150 mm X 150 mm . Checking of hardened concrete characteristics at 28th days. Few SFRC applications in the irrigation systems. Polymer modified steel reinforced concrete is very resistant to weathering, so it is commonly used in pavement lying.

Dynamic Analysis of Structural Steel Frame Subjected to Transient Thermal Load

ire is one of the most severe conditions to which structures can be subjected, and hence, the provision of appropriate fire safety measures for structural members is an important aspect of design. Recent years have seen significant research into the response of structural stainless steel components, enabling the development and expansion of dedicated design guidance In this project work, dynamic analysis of structural steel frame subjected to transient thermal load is conducted. A two dimensional steel frame of length 3m and breadth 3m is modelled using ANSYS version R19.2. The Steel Frame is of single storey with fixed supports at the base. Transient Thermal load is applied at the joints of steel frame using ANSYS software. By using Finite Element Method, the performance of the steel frame is examined by dynamic analysis subjected to transient thermal load. The behaviour of steel frame under transient thermal load with respect to effect of temperature, rate of transfer of heat, frequency response and thermal analysis is studied.

A Review Study on Analysis of Concrete T Beam Girder Bridge

Bridges are the life line of road network, both in urban and country zones. With fast innovation development, the commonplace bridge has been supplanted by creative practical structural system. One of these courses of action presents basic RCC framework that is T Beam and ordinary Beam.

Stabilization and Frequency Regulation in Microgrid by Controlling Pitch Angle

PID controller based pitch angle controller for the frequency regulation and active power control in a wind turbine and diesel engine powered hybrid power system, is presented in this paper. For testing the prosed controller, variable wind speed pattern is used for realization of real time wind behavior. Furthermore, the variable load is also connected to the hybrid power system to test the efficacy of the prosed controller. The system is modelled and simulated in MATLAB environment and results obtained are compared with and without pitch angle controller. The frequency deviations in PID based pitch angle controller is less than the without controller.

A Review on Integration of Wind Turbines in Distributed Generation Power System

Wind power is one of the mostly used renewable source of energy generated in recent decades. To be systems that are directly connected to the grid system, it is important to use the high voltage and get the high voltage converted from the turbine. Energy storage is needed to operate the electrical system efficiently. These storage areas are continuously controlled to coincide with the generation and operation of the system and, thus, to maintain the electrical frequency in prescribed limits. They are usually provided with standard integrated composite units such as hydraulic or thermal power plants. With the continuous depletion of these generating plants for non synchronous power plants e.g. wind and solar the rate of saturation of the synchronization power in the system decreases. Speed instability of wind presents the incredible difficulty of planning the wind power available in advance. For this reason, the purpose of this paper is to introduce the techniques developed in recent years and, as such, provide a control solution that mimics the conditions of various wind turbines.

Model Development of WSN Based LPG Measure and LPG Leakage System Detection by using GSM

In this paper, the paper is used a safety wireless project to leakage gas detector as well as gas measure. LPG liquid petroleum gas . It has component in the form propane, butane. This module is used for home, commercial, industrial application etc. The volatile gas is a possibility of leaking which will be occupied to cause explosion or fire hazard. This study was designed by using a prototype system that functions. If there is a gas leaking in a room by using the MQ 6 sensor which detects LPG gas in the room. In MQ 6 sensor based LPG leak early detection system using Arduino it has been successfully running according to an algorithm that has been designed and installed before in the test results LPG gas leakage is classified as the reasons of many disasters. The leakage and LPG gas measure detect sensor and sensor give notification. The output of the sensor goes low then sensor detect the gas atmosphere. This is detecting by using micro controller and buzzer turned it ON. Again sensor will send the notification to GSM module and display on LCD.
