Experimental Investigation of Magnesium Phosphate Cement Based Concrete

This project shows the results of an experimental study on the Magnesium phosphate cement for repair work in concrete mixed with coarse aggregate and fine aggregate. The percentage of Magnesium phosphate cement used in concrete and cement was replaced with 0 , 5 and 10 . The effects of curing for 7, 14 and 28 days on strength of concrete were studied. Experimental results indicate that the increase in the proportions of Mineral Admixtures resulted in an increase or decrease in the strength of concrete. The overall test performance revealed that Magnesium phosphate cement can be utilized as a partial replacement of cement in high strength concrete. The Mix Design for concrete M60 grade is being done as per the Indian Standard Code IS 10262 2009.

A Review Paper on Design of Generator in Vapour Absorption Refrigeration System

In vapour absorbtion refrigeration system an absorber, a pump, a generator and a pressure reducing valve replace the compressor. We can also operate the generator with low thermal energy by exhaust heat of IC engine. The fossil fuel remain main source of energy but contribute a tremendous amount of pollutants in the environment leading to global warming ,so for the purpose of refrigerator and air conditioning a vapour absorption refrigeration system could be used. this system utilizes the wasteful heat from heavy vehicle exhaust and work on VARS which provides the cooling and reducing various costs like fuel and maintenance. The research has been done in order to recover maximum waste heat and then analyzing the system performance. Through this system the researchers has tried to find out the maximum COP. It has been found by research that generator temperature has the most effect on the release of the system.

Effect of Compaction Moisture Content on Strength Parameters of Unsaturated Clay using Triaxial Test

Soil compaction is a process of mechanical densification of soil by pressing the soil particles close to each other and removing the air between them. It is of utmost importance in the broad science of Geotechnical engineering playing a significant role in all types of Geotechnical investigations. The principle soil properties affected by compaction include the shearing resistance. The constitutive equations for volume change, shear strength and flow for unsaturated soil have been generally accepted in Geotechnical engineering Fredlund and Rahardjo, 1993a . The shear strength of an unsaturated clayey soil and soil water characteristic curve depend on the soil structure or the aggregation which in turn depends on the initial water content and the method of compaction. The aim of this research work is to determine the cohesion, angle of internal friction of the clay soil based on the moisture content. For this clay soils classified as CH, CI are used. Soil samples are chosen on the basis of soil type and clay content more than 25 . Maximum dry density and Optimum moisture content is are determined after 24 hour soaking, using light compaction. The hydrometer test are carried out for the grain size distribution. For the present work six different type of clayey soils are consider. The sample are taken from Dahej 02 , Surat 02 and Bhavnagar 01 . All the sample were tested at OMC and MDD as obtain from standard proctor test. The compaction was done at 0.95,1.00 and 1.05 times of OMC. Each sample were tested for triaxial test as well as direct shear at the strain rate of 0.625 mm min and 1.25 mm min. direct shear test and triaxial test are conducted for unconsolidated undrained UU condition.

Design and Fabrication of IoT Enabled Wheelchair cum Stretcher with Home Automation and Patient Monitoring System

The proposed project was aimed at designing and fabricating a wheelchair cum stretcher that can overcome the shortcomings of a conventional wheelchair, with focus on cost effectiveness and utility. This project will eliminate the use of a separate wheelchair and stretcher in hospitals. The proposed idea describes the wheelchair, which can transform itself into a semi chair and stretcher and the mobility of the wheelchair positions are made with the help of knob without any assistance. In addition to it, the proposed project has the IoT enabled home automation to control the household devices and patient monitoring system for regularly monitoring the health of patients at home.

Partial Replacement of Natural Sand by Microfines for Cement Concrete

The purpose of this study was to investigate the PARTIAL REPLACEMENT OF NATURAL SAND BY MICROFINES FOR CEMENT CONCRETE. The suitability of crushed stone dust waste as a fine aggregate for concrete has been assessed by comparing its basic properties with that of conventional concrete. Two basic mixes were chosen for natural sand to achieve M25 and M30 grade concrete. The equivalent mixes were obtained by replacing natural sand by stone dust partially and fully. The test results indicate the crushed stone dust waste can be used effectively to replace natural sand in concrete. In the experimental study of strength characteristics of concrete using crushed stone dust as fine aggregate it is found that there is increase in compressive strength, flexural strength and tensile strength of concrete.

Mechanical Energy Harvesting using Piezo Triboelectric Nanogenerator

As there is a rapid growth of portable electronic gadgets, sustainable energy sources for these devices become indispensable. The possibility to power them by energy harvested from renewable sources have to be found. Triboelectric nanogenerators are the most viable solution to harvest energy from low frequency mechanical motions. A TENG is an energy harvesting device that converts external mechanical energy into electricity by a conjunction of contact electrification and electrostatic induction and this electricity is used to power our electronic gadgets wirelessly by using wireless module and piezoelectric nanogenerators also do the same on applying the pressure. This device opens a new horizons for ways to produce and store wasted energy from our surroundings and in a near future to power wireless sensors and electronic gadgets using hybrid piezo triboelectric nanogenerators.

An Automatic Load Controller for Domestic Applications

This paper presents a system to avoid the procedure of load shedding. Here the relation with frequency and power is utilized. A system of automatic controlling of devices which will help us to save the power to a greater extend is proposed here. For each device connected to the system, a cutoff frequency is fixed. When the frequency of the power supply goes below this cutoff frequency, the particular device will be automatically turned off and the device will return to its normal operating condition when the frequency reaches its normal value.
