Agricultural Cooperatives and Rural Poverty Reduction among Rural Farmers in Anambra State, Nigeria

This study assessed the nexus between agricultural cooperative and rural poverty reduction in Anambra State. The study utilised primary data, which were extracted from the questionnaire distributed to 213 rural farmers in Anambra State. Descriptive statistics were used to present and discuss data, while inferential statistics such as Paired sample T Test were employed to test hypothesis at the 5 level. The results study reveal that cooperative credit, cooperative farm inputs, cooperative farm extension services and agricultural cooperative marketing have significant positive relationships with rural poverty reduction among farmers in Anambra State at 5 level of significance. The study recommends among others, that government should complement the efforts of cooperatives by evolving a favourable credit policy which would lead to entrepreneurial development in the rural areas and that government at the three levels and all stake holders should endeavour to assist in providing adequate farm input supplies, crop varieties, good stora

ge facilities among others because of their multiplier effects on poverty reduction, food security, job and wealth creation.

Evaluation of the Impact of Fadama III Programme on the Livelihood of Women Farmers in Anambra State, Nigeria

The study sought to assess the impact of FADAMA III programme on the livelihood of women farmers in Anambra State. The study focused mainly on the activities of FADAMA III programme that supported women farmers relative to income, savings, household expenditure of women farmers, farm asset and non farm asset acquisition which reflects the livelihood of women farmers. A total of 363 women farmers were selected for the study from a population size of 3880 FADAMA users in Anambra State using Taro Yamene Formula ensuring proper spread to all the agricultural zones in Anambra State. Data were collected through the use of structured and pre tested questionnaire and analyzed through the use of Descriptive and inferential statistical tools. The Double Difference DD Estimator was used to compare changes in outcome measures between Fadama Users Groups FUGs and Non Fadama Users Group. The difference in mean shows that the mean income before the programme was N189, 412.43 and N360, 465.68 after the programme. The mean savings before and after the programme was also found to be N37, 326.04, and N62, 805.33 respectively. Equally the mean annual expenditure before and after the programme was found to be N49, 978.70, and N131, 607.40 respectively. The study shows that the FADAMA III programme has a strong positive effect on the livelihood of women farmers in Anambra State. It is recommended that provision of services such as communication, empowerment training on basic agricultural business, monitoring, should be promoted and continued by the management of FADAMA III since these are known to have positive effect on women's livelihood capabilities. Wireless Power Transmission using Solar Power Satellite

From this paper we can transfer the power to earth without using any wires using satellite based system.by this satellite solar power based system we can reduce the transmission and distri bution losses .by this system we can get more effi ciency of power for future generations.in this paper we can study the various components of satellite based system and projects this technology as a bulk source of power generation in future. With the help of sps system we can reduce the costs of lines and get more efficiency of power for future resources

A Research on Properties of Concrete with Partial Replacement of Aggregates by Waste Plastic

Solid waste management is among the key environmental issues in India. The current research applies to the usage of or even recycled plastics as an alternative for rough aggregates in concrete. The primary goal of the analysis is to investigate the modification in the physical attributes of concrete by the inclusion of plastics to concrete. In addition to the physical qualities, winter qualities of the ensuing concrete may also be analyzed. The utilization of plastic aggregates was discovered to lead to the development of sturdy concrete. Additionally, with the plastics, the tensile and compressive strength of the concrete reduces. The foremost change brought approximately by using plastics is the fact that concrete's thermal conductivity is decreased due to the utilization of plastics. It is able to thus be declared recycled plastics are usually ut

ilized for thermal insulation of structures. Series of experiments had been performed in this current study for a comparison of the usage of Used Plastic as a replacement of sand in various different proportions. The main conclusions drawn was that the compressive strength increases with the inclusion of Used Plastic upto a certain proportions and then reduces the strength.

To Study the Behaviour use of Locally Materials in Highway Subgrade

Concrete is strong in compression but weak in tension and brittle also. Cracks also start forming as soon as the concrete is placed. These above said drawbacks don't permit the use of normal concrete in pavements as they lead to a lack of ductility along with fracture and failure. These weaknesses in concrete can be mitigated by using fibers as reinforcement in the concrete mix. Waste materials in the form of polyethylene and tires cause environmental pollution which leads to various health problems. Polyethylene and waste tires can be reused and used efficiently in the concrete as reinforcement in the fiber form. Polyethylene is a synthetic hydrocarbon polymer which can improve the ductility, strength, shrinkage characteristics. This study deals with the effects of addition of polyethylene fiber on the properties of concrete. In this study, Polyethylene and tire fibers were cut into the size of 25mm x 8mm and they were used 1.5 each by volume. Grades of concrete used were M 30, M 35 and M 40. IRC 44 2008 was followed for the design of concrete mix. In this study, the results of the strength properties of Polyethylene fiber reinforced concrete have been presented. Four point bending and double shear test were performed in the laboratory for flexure and shear strength determinations. There was seen an increase of 18 in the 28 day compressive strength along with an increase of 39 in flexure Strenght and 32 in shear strength. It is also found that 22 reduction in the four point bending test and 36 reduction in deflection by double shear tests were initiated out from the experiments. Theoretical analysis of deflection was carried out with the help of energy methods. Practical values were verified with the theoretical values within the allowable limits. Finally, it is concluded that polyethylene and tire used efficiently in reinforced cement concrete.

Turkish Natural Language Processing Studies

Natural language processing which is an engineering field which is concerned with the design and implementation of computer systems whose main function is to analyze, understand, interpret and produce a natural language. Literature review was conducted using Turkish natural language studies documentation method. Documentation on the current method of examination to be reliable scientific research and thesis studies on natural language processing in Turkey were examined by scanning pages of the thesis of Higher Education. Evaluated in terms of the subjects of the study samples obtained as a result of the literature review Morphological analysis studies, syntactic analysis studies, semantic analysis studies and problem analysis criteria were determined and pr

esented.
