To Study the Contract Management on Sewage Treatment Plant STP

A study on domestic waste water characterization has been performed followed by the design of sewage treatment plant. The present study involves the analysis of pH value, total solids, total suspended solids, hardness, acidity, alkalinity, chloride, chlorine, BOD, DO and heavy metals such as Iron, Copper, Zinc, Magnesium, Nickel, Chromium, Lead, Calcium, Aluminium, Silicon, Potassium. A sewage treatment plant is quite necessary to receive the domestic and commercial waste and removes the materials which pose harm for general public. Its objective is to produce an environmentally safe fluid waste stream or treated effluent and a solid waste or treated sludge suitable for disposal or reuse usually as farm fertilizer .The samplings of the domestic waste from hostels have been done in different times of the day to have an average data of the measured parameters. The average values of pH, Turbidity, Acidity, Chloride, Residual Chlorine, Hardness, Total Solid, BOD, DO, Alkalinity, Total Iron Content, Zinc Content, Potassium, Copper, Magnesium, Nickel, Chromium, Lead, Calcium, Aluminum and Silicon are found out.

The study examined the use of contract management practices on performance of the Sewage Treatment Plant construction projects, implemented under different contract modes. The objectives of this presentation are to examine the role of monitoring intensity in enhancing performance of the Sewage Treatment Plant construction projects under contract modes Item Rate, BOT, EPC, HAM, TOT etc. to analyze the relationship between risk management and performance of the Sewage Treatment Plant construction projects and to assess the role of evaluation in enhancing performance at different parts of the country.Good contract management and administration has the capacity to increase revenue opportunities, decrease costs and enhance service delivery. Importantly, as competencies of managers and resources at their disposal increases, it is essential that they strengthen their efforts to make compliance central to strategic objectives. Many findings including and indicated that there was a significant positive relationship between monitoring intensity, risk management, evaluation and performance of STP construction projects. The performance of the STP construction projects in India was more related to the availability and use of resources which include funding, human resources and the basic raw materials used in the construction process which results into delays, cost overruns and poor quality service. Based on these study findings it is therefore recommended that India should commit more resources to evaluation and risk management to realize higher level of service delivery in Sewerage construction STP. My above presentation covers briefly number of risks encountered from different contract modes of Sewer projects.

Smart Water Metering

Smart meters are a major component of eco friendly home or building. Smart metering is required for the operation of the smart homes and buildings. The benefits of smart water metering have been recognized. A powerful approach for hour by hour monitoring and metering purposes in water networks is the automatic meter infrastructure AMI. Smart metering is now an established technology which can be applied to collect, store, and distribute real time data on water usage. This paper provides a brief introduction to the smart water metering.

Effect of Oil Extraction Method on the Functional Properties of Biodiesels of Selected Oilseeds

Owing to the rise in demand for petroleum and environmental concerns, the search for alternative fuels has gained prominence. This study examined the effect of the method of extraction of the base oil on the functional properties of biodiesel produced from Jatropha, Yellow oleander and Castor oilseeds. The study revealed that the method of extraction had significant effect on the properties of the oil extracted and hence the biodiesel produced from the oil. Hydrogenation during oven heating after solvent extraction affected the unsaturation of the base oils and the bio diesels produced from them. The kinematic viscosities of the bio diesel samples obtained from the oil samples extracted by solvent extraction were generally higher than those obtained from the oil samples extracted by mechanical extraction. The flash and fire points of the bio diesel samples obtained from the oil samples extracted by solvent extraction were higher than that obtained from the oil samples extracted by mechanical extraction. The pour points of the bio diesels produced from the oils extracted by mechanical extraction were lower than those produced from the oils extracted by solvent extraction.

Design Calculation of Main Components for Lab Based Refrigeration System

The purpose of this paper is for the students to know the basic function of main components of refrigeration system. Theoretical and experimental of design calculation of main components and their results are reported in this paper. During the performance of testing, the length of expansion device is varied and the result data are also described. In this system, R134a refrigerant is used as working substance. Because it is now being used for a replacement of R 12 CFC refrigerant. It can be handled safely because it is not toxic, corrosive and flammable. Moreover, it has no damage effect to ozone layer and greenhouse.

Design and Construction of GSM Based Fire Alarm System using PIC Microcontroller

A fire alarm system is used our properties safe form fire. It can be designed in many ways in different components. Many expensive building must have their fire alarm systems. In market almost systems are indoor systems. The indoor systems can be known only the person who inside the building. So, this paper focus on the design and implementation of knowing the fire status from remote. This proposed system designed has two sensors. One is the smoke sensor and the other is temperature sensor. If these sensors sense the required amount of temperature and smoke, they send SMS to dedicated mobile use and alarm system to know remote person and indoor persons.

Foundation and Synchronization of the Dynamic Output Dual Systems

In this paper, the synchronization problem of the dynamic output dual systems is firstly introduced and investigated. Based on the time domain approach, the state variables synchronization of such dual systems can be verified. Meanwhile, the guaranteed exponential convergence rate can be accurately estimated. Finally, some numerical simulations are provided to illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the obtained result.

Review Paper on Study of Black Cotton Soil to Enhancing the Properties of Sub Grade and Base Layer of Pavement

Soil is basic and important element in Civil Engineering field. Stability of every structure depends on the type and characteristics of foundation which in turn depends on the type of soil. Many problems irrupt if expansive soil, Natural soil is to be used in foundation, because of its shrinkage and swelling properties. There are many methods to make natural soil stable for various constructions. Natural soil is comfortable for road work, compared to other types of soil.
