Differential Protection of Power Transformer in Substation

Protection scheme required for the protection of power system components against abnormal conditions such as faults etc., and that essentially consists of protective relaying and circuit breaker. Protective relay senses the fault and determines the location of fault. Then, protective relay sends the tripping command to the circuit breaker. Therefore, proper care should be taken in designing and selecting an appropriate relay which is reliable, efficient and fast in operation. The voltage transformer and current transformer continuously measure the voltage and current of an electrical system and are responsible to give feedback signals to the relays to enable then to detect abnormal conditions. This paper describes differential protection for power transformer, especially the rating of purposed system is 100 MVA, 230 kV 33 kV at substation.

Feasibility Study on Battery Energy Storage System for Mini grid

Mini grids defined as a set of electricity generators and battery energy storage system is connected between the load side and the source side. A key feature of mini grids is that they can operate autonomously with no connection to a centralized grid. Gaw Cho village, Sagaing Division, Myanmar is selected because of the higher potential of solar energy. This paper presents the unbalance condition between the load side and the source side because the solar energy is changing under weather condition. Diesel generator is used as a backup system for this proposed area but the operation of the fuel cost increased for long term period. Here, battery energy storage system is used as a secondary supplier to balance between them. This paper focus on to used HOMER software for pointing out the result outcome not be oversizing the system requirement. Using real time data, storage characteristics and HOMER simulations, optimal sizing for both approaches were established. A well design min grid offered available tool for the rural electrification system.

Analysis of Induction Generator for Geothermal Power Generation System

Nowadays, renewable energy sources contribute approximately twenty five percent of the world electricity supply. The challenge is the inevitable increase in energy consumption in the world with the risk of a major environmental impact and climate change as a results of the combustion of fossil fuels. Therefore, renewable energy has a very important role to play in the near future. Geothermal Power is one of the renewable energy sources, but it is largely ignored in favor of wind and solar energy. However, geothermal power is reliably predictable years in advance for power generation unlike wind and solar energy. Besides, it is convenient to supply the electricity sufficiently for rural and coastal areas which are far from national grid. The appropriate steam turbine to use in geothermal power plant is carefully selected. More importantly, the design calculation of a 0.5 MW, 6 poles induction generator is calculated in detail in order to generate electrical power concerned with the geothermal ranges of coastal areas in Myanmar. Geothermal power plant operations tend to be of three general kinds dry stream plants and flash plants, applied to high energy resources, and binary plants.

Expelling Information of Events from Critical Public Space using Social Sensor Big Data

Open foundation frameworks give a significant number of the administrations that are basic to the well being, working, and security of society. A considerable lot of these frameworks, in any case, need persistent physical sensor checking to have the option to recognize disappointment occasions or harm that has struck these frameworks. We propose the utilization of social sensor enormous information to recognize these occasions. We center around two primary framework frameworks, transportation and vitality, and use information from Twitter streams to identify harm to spans, expressways, gas lines, and power foundation. Through a three step filtering approach and assignment to geographical cells, we are able to filter out noise in this data to produce relevant geo located tweets identifying failure events. Applying the strategy to real world data, we demonstrate the ability of our approach to utilize social sensor big data to detect damage and failure events in these critical public infrastructures.

PC Based DC Motor Speed Control using PID for Laboratory

In this paper, PC based DC motor speed control using PID proportional, Integral, derivative control algorithm for laboratory. Arduino Uno microcontroller and L298N hybrid motor driver module are used to drive the dc motor. PID algorithm is uploaded to arduino and proportional gain kp, Integral gain ki, and derivative gain kd can be set and tuned via windows form application in computer. This application is developed by using c programming. The desired speed and PID gains are set by computer and drive the DC motor. The speed of the motor can retrieve by using encoder which is included in DC motor. By using this work, student can learn how to control the speed of DC motor using PID controller and how to tune the gains.

Enhanced Cloud Security Implementation using Modified ECC Algorithm

Cloud computing is a distributed environment that encompasses thousands of computers that work in parallel to perform a task in lesser time than the traditional computing models. This parallelism enables the low cost virtualization of hardware resources with increased computational performances. Cloud computing provides tremendous opportunity for small and medium scale enterprises to grow their business using IT services with zero deployment cost. Whenever, a task is distributed over web, there encounters a series of potential threats that challenges the security of data such as buffer overflow, session hijacking and black hole attacks. A cloud computing based services also face such kinds of security issues where applications deployed on cloud can face same kind of attacks as that on client server model. Storage as a Service SaaS based applications are vulnerable to virus attacks.Online operating systems are available on cloud to the user for free.Viruses can spread as attachments of email, of part of the software or can stay in Master Boot Record MBR of the operating system available on cloud. Worms residing on one system in cloud can migrate to another system on its own. Trojan horse is software with wrong intentions. Thus the present system needs an effective mechanism to address the problem encountered in cloud computing.

Water Pollution Control for Mandalay KanDawGyi Lake by Natural Treatment System

This paper emphasized on "Water Pollution Control for Mandalay KanDawGyi Lake by Natural Treatment System". KanDawGyi Lake is used for wastewater collection. It is situated in ChanMyaThaZi Township, Mandalay and near the AyeYarWaddy river. Residential, commercial and industrial area are existed surrounding the KanDawGyi Lake. Water from human activities such as cooking, bathing, washing and septic tanks effluent is discharged into drains by gravity flow without treatment. Average six million gallons of wastewater discharged from Mandalay City area flow into KanDawGyi Lake passing through ThinGaZar creek daily. So, lake water has been contaminated by domestic wastewater.

This has resulted detrimental effects on the ecosystem. Water in recreation center should be aesthetically pleasing and essentially free of toxicants and pathogenic organisms. Seven collection points such as entrance, east of north side, south east of north side, south of north side, water fountains, PyiGyiMon barge and exit of KanDawGyi Lake are chosen to collect the wastewater sample. The water quality of KanDawGyi Lake is evaluated by various parameters such as temperature, turbidity, suspended solids, dissolved solids, pH, total alkalinity, total hardness, biochemical oxygen demand, dissolved oxygen, chlorides, total solids and bacteria. According to test results, alkalinity, chlorides, dissolved solids, suspended solids, and total solids are uncertified. Therefore, in this paper wetland design of natural treatment system is used at the entrance of the lake to control the water pollution.
