Performance of Ultrasonic Testing for Different Steel Sheets which are joined by Spot Welding

The main purpose of this paper is to examine the applicability of spot welded dissimilar steel sheets to ultrasonic testing, because resistance spot welding of the steel sheets is widely used in the car bodies and transport fields and ultrasonic testing is a good way to evaluate the fatigue life of the spot welds. Methodology of this paper is that two different steel sheets AISI 304 type austenitic stainless steel sheet and Galvanized steel sheet were welded to each other by using resistance spot welding. Some pre welding tests were made to obtain suitable and optimum weld nugget diameter and the welding current vs. nugget diameter curve were obtained. By using this curve and keeping constant welding parameters such as current, electrode pressure, weld time, etch. Fully identical four spot welded specimens having 5 mm ±0.16 nugget diameter were obtained. The specimens and nugget diameters were tested by using a special ultrasonic test apparatus which is designed for spot welded joints. Findings are that after the first ultrasonic tests, the four identical spot welded sheets which have AISI 304 "“ Galvanized steel sheet combination were subjected to the fatigue test in four different numbers of cycles. There is no any rupture or fracture in spot welded joints after fatigue tests. The spot welded specimens subjected to fatigue test were tested in ultrasonic test apparatus to observe the variation in the weld nugget and joint. The ultrasonic test results before fatigue and after fatigue were compared with each other and the decreasing of the weld nugget diameter were observed while increasing the number of cycles. The results were shown in figures and discussed. Spot welding of different steel sheets forms different microstructures which respond different values to ultrasonic testing. Evaluation of these responses are quiet difficult. Only a few spot welds can be evaluated among approximately 5 thousands of spot welds on a car body. Only selected spot welds can be ultrasonically tested. Resistance spot welding of AISI 304 and galvanized steel forms austenitic, martensitic and ferritic microstrucutre in the same weld region. Ultrasonic testing of austenitic microstructures is different than the other microstructures. In this study the response of different microstructures to ultrasonic waves are investigated.

WSN Based Temperature Monitoring System for Multiple Locations in Industry

Wireless sensor network technology has demonstrated a great potential for industrial, commercial, and consumer applications. Speci cally, in process monitoring and control, process data such as pressure, humidity, temperature, ow, level, viscosity, density and vibration intensity measurements can be collected through sensing units and transferred wirelessly to a control system for operation and management. Adopting WSNs for process monitoring and control provides great advantages over traditional wired system. In today's world we are facing with many di erent types of emergencies in the indoor environment. Response to such emergencies is critical in order to protect resources including human life and also we can save property from damage. This wireless sensor network for Temperature monitoring System which can report the emergency to the users in various forms, such as pop ups on a Computer screen, SMS on their cell phones and so on. Due to this exibility of reporting low cost wireless sensor network prepared for emergency response system of future. We are going to develop three wireless sensor nodes and we have to place in di erent position in the building using arduino board and we have to inform to the master node or monitoring node about the temperature available at each sensor node. While sending data to each and every sensor is very costly. Hence nodes are connected to WSN and their is only one node called 'Gateway' which collects the data from all other nodes and sends it to the cloud.

Dc House An Alternate Solution for Rural Electrification

In today's date, India is a large consumer of fossil fuel such as coal, crude oil etc. The rapid increase in use of Non renewable energies such as fossil fuel, oil, natural gas has created problems of demand and supply. Because of which, the future of Non renewable energies is becoming uncertain. Now a day's electricity is most needed facility for the human being. All the conventional energy resources are depleting day by day. So we have to shift from conventional to non conventional energy resources. In this the combination of two energy resources is takes place i.e. wind and solar energy. This process reviles the sustainable energy resources without damaging the nature. We can give uninterrupted power by using hybrid energy system. Basically this system involves the integration of two energy system that will give continuous power. Solar panels are used for converting solar energy and wind turbines are used for converting wind energy into electricity. This electrical power can utilize for various purpose. Generation of electricity will be takes place at affordable cost. This paper deals with the generation of electricity by using two sources combine which leads to generate electricity with affordable cost without damaging the nature balance.

Investigations on Properties of Concrete by Partial Replacement of Sand and Cement with Copper Slag and Rice Ask Ash

he Natural resources are getting exhausted rapidly so construction technology is moving toward the utilization of alternative materials industrial waste by product such as copper slag and agriculture waste such as rice ask ash. In this study use of copper slag in partial replacement of sand and cement from 0 to 20 and 0 to 20 Rice Husk ash by weight using design mix by satisfying different quality parameters has been done. M30 grade were prepared and the different strength parameters i.e. compressive strength, tensileand flexure strength. Partial substitution of Copper waste in concrete with shows good resistance to sulphate attack. Cost of Concrete production reduces when Copper Slag is used as a fine aggregate in concrete as replacement.

Experimental Study on Properties of Black Cotton Soil Mixed Stone Dust and Sisal Fiber

Experimental Studies were conducted to see the effects on strength behavior of Black cotton soil using stone dust and Sisal fiber. In this study, the stabilizing effect of sisal Fiber Natural Fiber on soil properties. Keeping this in view an experimental study is conducted on locally available i.e. expensive soil mixed with varying percentage of Stone dust and Sisal fiber. Soil samples for California bearing ratio CBR tests are prepared at its maximum dry density MDD corresponding to its optimum moisture content OMC in the CBR mould without and with sisal fiber. Tests result indicates that both unsoaked and soaked CBR value of soil increases with the increase. Soaked CBR value increases from 3.97 to 9.75 and un soaked CBR value increases from 8.1 to 40.7 of soil mixed with stone dust and sisal fiber. Due to sisal fiber reinforcement CBR is increased resulting lesser thickness of pavements are used in construction works. Soil becomes ductile in nature. This is because of composite effect of sisal fibre Natural Fibre changes the brittle behavior of the soil to ductile behavior.

Optimization of EDM Process Parameters using Response Surface Methodology for AISI D3 Steel

The present work demonstrates the optimization process of material removal rate MRR of electrical discharge machining EDM by RSM Response Surface Methodology . The work piece material was EN31 tool steel. The pulse on time, pulse off time, pulse current and voltage were the control parameters of EDM. RSM method was used to design the experiment using rotatable central composite design as this is the most widely used experimental design for modeling a second–order response surface. The process has been successfully modeled using response surface methodology RSM and model adequacy checking is also carried out using Minitab software. The second order response models have been validated with analysis of variance. Finally, an attempt has been made to estimate the optimum machining conditions to produce the best possible responses within the experimental constraints.

Solar Tracker in P.T.U E.P Department

The main importance for this paper is that sixth year students can be used laptop and projector in presentation for their mini thesis though the light is off. As four 90W solar panel is connected in parallel, total power is 360W that is reliable for our loads. In this paper, the comparison between single axis and dual axis tracker radiation for Pyay District is expressed. Moreover, Ardunio program is applied for dual axis solar tracker. Myanmar is more suitable solar power to store energy in battery during sunny days as renewable.
