A Review on HVDC Circuit Breakers

he continuously increasing demand for electric control and the financial access to remote sustainable power source sources, for example, seaward wind control or sunlight based warm age in deserts have restored the enthusiasm for high voltage direct present HVDC multi terminal frameworks systems . A great deal of work was finished around there, particularly during the 1980s, however just two three terminal frameworks were figured it out. From that point forward, HVDC innovation has progressed impressively and, regardless of various specialized difficulties, the acknowledgment of huge scale HVDC systems is presently truly talked about and considered. For the acknowledgment and dependability of these systems, the accessibility of HVDC circuit breakers CBs will be basic, making them one of the key empowering advances. Various thoughts for HVDC breaker plans have been distributed furthermore, licensed, yet no satisfactory arrangement has been found to intrude on HVDC cut off. This paper intends to abridge the writing, particularly that of the most recent two decades, on innovation territories that are important to HVDC breakers. By contrasting the mostly 20 years old, cutting edge HVDC CBs to the new HVDC innovation, existing inconsistencies end up clear. Territories where extra innovative work are required are distinguished and proposed.

Higher Order Low Pass FIR Filter Design using IPSO Algorithm

This paper presents an optimal design of digital low pass finite impulse response FIR filter using Improved Particle Swarm Optimization IPSO . The design target of FIR filter is to approximate the ideal filters on the request of a given designing specifications. The traditional based optimization techniques are not efficient for digital filter design. The filter specification to be realized IPSO algorithm generates the best coefficients and try to meet the ideal frequency response. Improved Particle swarm optimization PSO proposes a new equation for the velocity vector and updating the particle vectors and hence the solution quality is improved. The IPSO technique enhances its search capability that leads to a higher probability of obtaining the optimal solution. In this paper for the given problem the realization of the FIR filter has been performed. The simulation results have been performed by using the improved particle swarm optimization IPSO method.

Smart Laboratory

In this era of Digitization and Automation, the life of human beings is getting simpler as almost everything is automatic, replacing the old manual systems. Nowadays humans have made internet an integral part of their everyday life without which they are helpless. Internet of things IOT provides a platform that allows devices to connect, sensed and controlled remotely across a network infrastructure. Our project basically focuses on Laboratory automation using smart phone and computer. The IOT devices controls and monitors the electronic electrical and the mechanical systems used in various types of buildings. The devices connected to the cloud server are controlled by a single admin which facilitate a number of users to which a number of sensor and control nodes are connected. The system designed is economical and can be expanded as it allows connection and controlling of a number of different devices.

Seismic Response Analysis of Structure A Perspective View

From past earthquakes it is proved that many of structure are totally or partially damaged due to earthquake. So, it is necessary to determine seismic responses of such buildings. There are different techniques of seismic analysis of structure. Time history analysis is one of the important techniques for structural seismic analysis generally the evaluated structural response is nonlinear in nature. For such type of analysis, a representative earthquake time history is required. In this project work seismic analysis of RCC buildings with mass irregularity at different floor level are carried out. Here for analysis different time histories have been used. This paper highlights the effect of mass irregularity on different floor in RCC buildings with time history and analysis is done by using ETABS software.

A Need for Sesame Thresher

Sesame Sesamum indicum L. crop is grown in all seasons of the year and being a short duration crop, fits well into various cropping systems. The international market of sesame is on the rise due to high demand and various uses. It was reported that there is about 5 to 10 percent loss from the time of harvest to cleaning and storing. The losses notice dare mainly contributed to non uniform maturity and improper threshing operation Status paper on oil seeds, 2014 . One of the measures to avoid post harvest losses is timely harvesting with proper method and adoption of modern mechanical methods of threshing and winnowing.

Renewable Energy Storage

Renewable Energy Sources are generally utilized in power generation nowadays. Energy storage is a governing factor. It can decrease power variation, improve the framework adaptability, empowers the capacity and dispatching of power produced by renewable energy sources, for example wind, solar etc. Distinctive storage methodologies like Compressed Air Energy Storage System CAES , Voltage Regulation Battery energy storage system are utilized in electric power framework. Energy storage is included in a storage medium, a power transformation framework and an equalization of plant. Electrical energy storage can possibly raise the circumstances by empowering the renewable energy to store in place of curtail and can be utilized in future.

Reliability of Soil and Ground Improvement Techniques on Peaty Clay Soil "“ A Review

Various ground improvement methods have evolved in the last decade, these methods seek to improve the shear strength parameters of the soil and thus increase the bearing capacity. This paper, presents the reliability of the results of improvement techniques on Peaty clay soil, in various locations at a 1m depth, using the Unconfined Compressive strength test UCS and the California Bearing Ratio test CBR .

The major materials used where Chemicals such as Calcium Oxide, Calcium Hydroxide, Calcium Chloride, Cement, Aluminum Hydroxide and Sodium Silicate and Geo textiles woven soaked, non woven soaked, woven un soaked and non woven un soaked for a curing period of 7 days, 14 days and 28 days. Amongst the different methods of soil improvement, the use of chemical additives for soil stabilization to increase soil strength parameters and loading capacity was found to be more reliable. In addition, the above mentioned chemicals increased the shear strength of the soil and controls shrinkage swell properties of the soil, hence, a reliable technique in improving soil properties. The use of geo textile was also found to be a reliable improvement technique because it generates strength improvement.
