Analysis Of Underwater Image De-Hazing Approaches A Perspective View

Image de-hazing is one of the pre-processing steps in various computer vision applications. It is the process of improving the quality of image without any information loss. Usually the images are affected by various facts. Especially in underwater imagery, the haze and hue variations are greatly affected. This paper discusses the issues in underwater images and compares the existing image enhancement techniques for underwater images.

Non Linear Analysis of Diesel Engine Connecting Rod

the connecting rod is the mediator member between the piston and the Connecting Rod. Its primary function is to transmit the push and pull from the piston pin to the crank pin and thus convert the reciprocating motion of the piston into rotary motion of the crank. For piston pin there will be tiny end is fix, it will used mostly to press fit into the connecting rod but it can swivel in the piston, a floating wrist pin design. Presently connecting rod is manufacturing by using the material Carbon steel.

In this project, connecting rod is designed using Aluminum alloys 7475 and 6061. The aim of this project is to design the connecting rod for 150cc engine motorbike by using Design formulas for the above materials. By using catia software we can draw the 3Dmodel of the connecting rod as per the parameters. All the required data is collected from design data books, internet and journals.

Matlab Simulink Model of Sinusoidal PWM For Three-Phase Voltage Source Inverter

This paper concentrates on modeling and simulation of single phase inverter as a frequency changer modulated by sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation PWM technique. An inverter is a circuit that converts DC sources to AC sources. To judge the quality of voltage produced by a PWM inverter, a detailed harmonic analysis of the voltage waveform is done. Pulse width modulated PWM inverters are among the most used power-electronic circuits in practical applications. These inverters are capable of producing ac voltages of variable magnitude as well as variable frequency with less harmonic distortion.

The model is executed utilizing MATLAB Simulink software with the SimPower System Block Set using PC simulation. MATLAB Simulink is a successful instrument to examine a PWM inverter. Major reasons for using MATLAB are Faster reaction, accessibility of different simulation devices and the nonappearance of joining issues. In this paper, Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor IGBT is used as switching power device. IGBT is ideal since it high switching speed and also high input impedance. Finally a MATLAB SIMULINK model for the SPWM is presented. Various simulation results are also included.

Voltage Regulation in Grid Connected Power System Using 24 Pulse STATCOM

The paper deals with compensation of frequently time-variable loads by means of STATCOM controllers. An arc furnace is considered as a heavily distributing load. The STATCOM system was used to ensure good power quality at the point of common coupling. For analysis of the system performance, the MATLAB Simulink was applied. Simulation models of the load and 24-pulse STATCOM controller is discussed in the paper. A MATLAB Simulink model of a measurement block is also proposed for power quality assessment.

Some results of simulation are presented, which show the compensation effectiveness.

A Review on Different Topologies and Control Method of Static Synchronous Compensator

Rapidly acting static synchronous compensator STATCOM , a member of FACTS devices, is a capable technology being widely used as the state-of-the-art dynamic shunt compensator for reactive power control in transmission and distribution system. In the last 25 years, technocrats have made extensive research on STATCOM technology due to which, many STATCOM controllers based on the self-commutating solid-state voltage-source converter VSC have been developed and commercially put in operation to control system dynamics under stressed conditions.

Because of its many attributes, STATCOM has emerged as a qualitatively superior controller relative to the line commutating static VAR compensator SVC . This controller is called with different terminologies as Static Compensator advanced static VAR compensator, advanced static VAR generator or static VAR generator, Static Condenser, synchronous solid-state VAR compensator, VSC-based SVC or self-commutated SVC or static synchronous compensator SSC or S2C . The development of STATCOM controller employing various solid-state converter topologies, magnetic configurations, control algorithms, switching techniques and so on, has been well reported in literature with its versatile applications in power system. A review on the state-of-the-art STATCOM technology and further research potential are presented.

Investigation on Friction Stirs Welding of Aluminum Alloy and Copper Dissimilar Metals

The joining of dissimilar Aluminium Alloy and Copper aluminium plates of 5mm thickness was carried out by friction stir welding FSW technique. Optimum process parameters were obtained for joints using statistical approach. Five different tool designs have been employed to analyse the influence of rotation speed and traverse speed over the micro structural and tensile properties. In FSW technique, the process of welding of the base material, well below its melting temperature, has opened up new trends in producing efficient dissimilar joints. Effect of welding speed on microstructures, hardness distribution and tensile properties of the welded joints were investigated.

By varying the process parameters, defect free and high efficiency welded joints were produced. The ratio between tool shoulder diameter and pin diameter is the most dominant factor. From micro structural analysis it is evident that the material placed on the advancing side dominates the nugget region. The hardness in the HAZ of 6061 was found to be minimum, where the welded joints failed during the tensile studies.

CFD Analysis of Solar Air Heater Provided with Discrete Inclined Rib Roughness on the Absorber Plate A Review

Heat transfer enhancement is a subject of considerable interest to researchers as it leads to saving in energy and cost. Because of the rapid increase in energy demand in all over The world, both reducing energy lost related with ineffective use and enhancement of energy in the meaning of heat have become an increasingly significance task for design and operation engineers for many system. A 3-dimensional CFD analysis has been carried out to study heat transfer and fluid flow behavior in a rectangular duct of a solar air heater with one roughened wall having discrete inclined rib roughness.

The effect of Reynolds number, roughness height, roughness pitch, relative roughness pitch and relative roughness height on the heat transfer coefficient and friction factor have been studied. In order to validate the present numerical model, results have been compared with available experimental results under similar flow conditions.
