IoT Based Industrial Information Gathering

This project aims to gather information from an industry by means of the internet of things (IOT). Internet of Things (IOT) is rapidly increasing technology. IOT is the network of physical objects or things embedded with electronics, software, sensors, and network connectivity, which enables these objects to collect and exchange data. In this project, We are developing a system which will automatically monitor the industrial application such as, Motor's speed, energy consuming of the industry, single phasing effect and no of loads connected, etc.,

This information's are uploaded on the internet user can view the information on the internet from anywhere and at any time. The data are stored in the internet cloud user can view it at any time. If the user found any single phasing in supply or some other issues user can get information from anywhere by means of internet. In this modern industries this technology

Remote Controlled Fire Fighting Robot

In the recent year, robots are turned out to be an ingredient over which many people had shown there interest. Robotics has gained popularity due to the advancement of many technologies of computing and nano technologies. So, we proposed to design something that can make humans life easier and comfortable. This project, which is our endeavor to design a tire fighting robot. Comprises of a machine which not only has the basic features of the robot, but also has the ability to detect ?re and extinguish it.

The need of the hour is make a device which can detect tire, even if it is small and take the necessary action to put it off. Many house hold item catch ?re when someone is either sleeping or away and that lead many hazardous conditions in the ?re is not putted off in time. So, be work as an electronics engineer is to design and built system that can automatically detect and extinguish fire.

This advanced project allows a user to control a fire fighter robot equipped with water tank and gun remotely wirelessly for extinguishing fires. For this purposes the system uses an RF remote for remote operation along with RF receiver based microcontroller Circuit for operating the Robot and water pump. The RF based remote transfer' user' commands through RF signals which are received by the receiver circuit.

The receiver circuit now decodes the data commands sent. It then forwards to the microcontroller. Now the micro controller processes these instruction and then instructions the motors to run the robot in desired direction. It also operates the solenoid valve to spray water based on user' commands. This allows the user to operate the robot and put off the fire by standing at a safe distance.

Experimental and Numerical Investigations on Melting Behavior of PCM in Storage Tank

The present work investigates the thermal performance of storage unit using phase change material by experimentally and numerically. Commercial grade stearic acid is used as phase change material (PCM) packed in two cylindrical copper tubes and water is used as heat transfer fluid (HTF). The instantaneous temperature variations of PCM at different layers along the axial direction of the tube are experimentally measured. The PCM temperature at various mass flow rates are measured by experimentally and compared with the numerical results. It is found that the results of the experiment are in good agreement with the numerical results.

Robotic Monitoring of Power Systems

Information technology plays a very important role in the progress and development of country. The technology domain is present in every sector like banking, e-commerce, tourism etc. The applications are developed using number of platforms and people are using applications more and more for number of tasks. This paper focus on IOT technology and how it is implemented in power systems like power grids to make proper automation and minimize problems that we face in manual system.

Analyses of Some Engineering Properties of Ado-Ekiti to Ilawe-Ekiti Road Soil, Southwestern Nigeria

This study sought to analyze the Engineering properties of Ado-Ekiti to Ilawe-Ekiti road soil. Soil samples were taken from three locations within the study area to laboratory for Atterberg Limits, Particle Size Distribution and Permeability tests. Results showed that the Liquid Limit (LL), Plasticity Index (PI), Shrinkage Limit (SL) and Permeability values varied from 28.48 to 32.50%, 12.03 to 23.60%, 0.6 to 0.72% and 5.14 x 10-5 ¬to 1.08 x 10-3 mms respectively for all the soil samples.

Their clay or silt, sand and gravel also ranged from 15.3 to 34.1%, 48.1 "“ 77.2% and 3.8 "“ 13.6% respectively. The soil samples were generally and grouply classified as granular and A - 2 - 6 materials with mainly silty or clayey gravel and sand constituent materials. All the soil samples were good as subgrade, subbase and base materials. However, they have low permeability, which showed the reason for road failure in their locations. It is recommended that further study should be carried out.

Effects of Organic Carbon Content and Water Stable Aggregate on The Development of Rill and Gully Erosion in Aramoko-Ekiti

Field geological study of the area revealed that the erosion hazard has remained active over the years, defying control measures put in place by government, communities and individuals. Assessments of effects of organic carbon content and water stable aggregates on the development of rill and gully erosion in Iloro, Ikoyi, Alele and Atiba of Aramoko-Ekiti, Ekiti-State, Nigeria is presented in this study.

Soil samples were collected from different depths of gully sites and their geotechnical properties analyzed using organic carbon content and triaxial tests. Results revealed that the soil in the study area has low organic carbon ranges from 1.39 to 1.43%, which results in less organic carbon, thus high erosion. The triaxial test results ranges from 6 to 150. These could be deduced that the soil is vulnerable to agents of gully erosion such as rainfall, slope of land-surface and human activities. An integrated approach including watershed management strategies, construction of ditches, retention pits at appropriate locations and a long-term re-vegetation strategy is suggested for controlling soil erosion and gulling in the study area.

Assessment of Permeability Characteristics of Ado-Ekiti to Ikere-Ekiti Road Soil, Southwestern Nigeria

There is need for good knowledge of soil permeability in order to estimate the quantity of fluid or water flow in soil, which will help in building and maintaining good road. The study sought to assess the permeability characteristics of Ado-Ekiti to Ikere-Ekiti road soil. Soil samples were taken from ten locations, subjected to permeability tests in Laboratory and the results analysed.

Results showed that that the permeability values obtained from grain size and falling head methods varied from 1.73 x 10-6 ¬to 2.15 x 10-3 mms and 8.46 x 10-2 ¬to 1.23 x 10-1 cms respectively for all the soil samples. These showed that some soil samples have high permeability, while others have low permeability. Though all the soil samples were well-graded. Thus, soil with high permeability portrayed high contents of granular materials (sand), while that of low permeability portrayed high contents of clay and its minerals. There is need for further study.
