Genetic Programming Approach for Oral Cancer Detection and its Image Restoration

Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in developing countries. Cancers are of different types like breast cancer, lung cancer, skin cancer and so on. Oral Cancer is one of the types of cancers. Oral cancer is a very common type of cancer. This Oral Cancer is observed in both males as well as females. It is a big challenge to detect Oral Cancer. This is a time consuming process in medical image processing. Detection and prevention of oral cancer at early stage is critical. But it increases the chances of survival.

This work presents the detection of oral cancers using Image Processing. Clinical images which are RGB images and microscopic images are used as the input image for detection of cancer. At first, Gabor filter is used to remove noise from the images. This is used for image enhancement in image preprocessing step. Genetic Algorithm is used to extract the features of tumors from the enhanced image. GA is used for segmentation of image. The proposed algorithm provides better segmentation. Genetic Programming (GP), is a computation technique that can evolve better solutions for image classification problems.

Design of Blood Monitor Sensor Model to Determine Glucose Level in Blood Sample

The prime intention of this research work has been to study and develop glucose monitoring system using IR sensor and ultrasonic MEMS to determine the blood density and blood pressure in patient blood sample. It is needless to emphasize the great importance of glucose level testing in diabetes life. Blood is combination of that high content it may like proteins, DNA, RNA, plasma etc. This research presents a spectroscopic sensor model to study and analyze the blood level and its parameter of sample blood before treatment. In this research work, compare the predicted glucose values with those from NIR spectroscopy using various glucose monitoring techniques. The predicted result being used is various patient monitoring system.

Soil Liquefaction Potential Maps for Earthquake Events in Yangon, Myanmar

The soil liquefaction is one of the main topics of geotechnical engineering associated with the strong earthquakes. The study area has been selected in Yangon City because it is most populated density area and located near the active faults and the rivers. The main objective of study is the development of liquefaction potential maps as a prominent feature for site planners and decision makers to reduce loss of lives. The borehole data including ground water table, Standard Penetration Test (SPT), blow counts, wet density and fine content etc. have been collected from the 530 representative sites in Yangon City.

The safety factor of soil liquefaction is evaluated by using National Center of Earthquake Engineering Research (NCEER) Method (1997). The Liquefaction Potential Index (LPI) is proposed by Luna and Frost Method (1998) to predict the potential of liquefaction at sites. The proposed liquefaction potential map is analyzed by using Geographic Information Software. The development of liquefaction potential maps is associated with 1%, 2%, 5%, 10% and 20% of probabilities of exceedance in 50 years.

Blockchain : A Revolutionary Technology

A Blockchain is defined as a distributed database which consists of records, or public ledgers of all the transactions or digital events executed and shared among participating network. In this each transaction in the public ledger is verified by consensus of a majority of the participants in the network. As soon as the information is entered, it can never be erased. The Blockchain contains a verifiable record of every single transaction ever made. [9]It was developed firstly for Bitcoin as a peer-to-peer digital currency or popularly called as '˜cryptocurrency'.

The idea for Blockchain was coined in 2008. Since then the interest in Blockchain technology has been increasing. The reason for this increase in interest in Blockchain is its central attributes which provide security and data integrity without any third party organization in control of the transactions. Therefore it creates interesting and vast research areas, especially from the perspective of technical challenges, expectations and limitations. It was found wide range of applications in both financial and non-financial market. In this paper, we have conducted a procedural and organized mapping study with the goal of collecting all relevant information about the evolution of Blockchain technology since 2008.

Our objective here is to understand the enhancement, challenges and future expectations regarding Blockchain technology from the technical perspective. The focus is on working of Blockchain Technology including the revolutionary rise of Blockchain Technogy generation 1.0, 2.0, 3.0. This paper describes Blockchain technology and some of its compelling specific applications in both financial and non- financial sector. We then look at the challenges abroad and business opportunities in this fundamental technology that is all set to revolutionize our digital world.

Algorithms for Smart Antenna for Digital Communication System

Smart antenna is a next generation antenna which can increase capacity in a cellular communication system, can reduce the effect of the multipath fading, increase the diversity gain, and suppress the co-channel interference between different devices. The antenna operates in conjunction with mobile subscriber unit and provides a plurality of antenna elements. The antenna array creates a beamformer for signals to be transmitted from the mobile subscriber unit, and a directional receiving array to more optimally detect and receive signals transmitted from the base station.

By directionally receiving and transmitting signals, multipath fading is greatly reduced as well as intercell interference. A smart antenna system includes a receiving system, one or more beam analysis modules, a control channel monitoring module, a processing system, and a receiving beam switch is provided.

Beam and Column Joint Exterior Behavior

But recently due to use of high grade of concrete and better quality control in the RCC structures, confinements in the joints as per the new provision of codes leading us to the problem of the congestion. It has been observed at many construction sites that this congestion leads to poor workmanship at the joints, which actually making the joint more vulnerable than previous. Researcher has been working on this area to counter act by Increasing the size of the joints, Using the steel fiber in the joints, Using GRFP to wrap the joints, Prestressing the beam including the joint, Using of the crossed rebar at the joint cores.

Due to prestressing of joint through the beam has not been so effective and economical, the present paper come up with the direct way of prestessing the joints. This paper tries to combine the benefits of the crossed rebar and prestressing in the joints together.

A Review: Biogas Production from Bakery Waste

The Anaerobic Digestion process is one of the non-thermal technologies of energy recovery from waste. Bakery waste is seen to be a very vital source of nutrient been unused. Bakery waste contains sugars which are easy to degrade along with other nutrients. There is an immense potential of extracting energy from bakery waste in form of biogas. The present paper states that an option of feedstock is available in form of bakery wastes like different varieties of bread, biscuits, rolls, donuts, pizza dough waste etc. underwent experimentations. Bread and biscuit waste for a retention time of 22 to 42 days produced methane 45% and above. The pH was found to be in a range of 5.3 to 7.4 for overall bakery waste. The temperature for digestion of these wastes was between 20 ?C to 40?C.
