Security System for Car using CAN Protocol

The design consist of a central "Airbag control unit"(ACU) controls a number of related sensors within the vehicle like accelerometers, impact sensors, wheel speed sensors, gyroscopes, brake pressure sensors, and seat occupancy sensors. When the requisite 'threshold' has been reached or exceeded, the airbag control unit will trigger the ignition of a gas generator propellant to rapidly inflate a nylon fabric bag.

The inflated airbag reduces the deceleration experienced by the passenger during the crash through the process of venting gas out of small vent holes in a controlled manner absorbing the energy of the occupant impacting the bag. CAN is a serial communication protocol. The CAN bus may be used in vehicles to connect engine control unit and transmission , or (on a different bus) to connect the door locks , climate control , seat control.

Occupancy-based Surveillance with Wireless Camera Network for Public Safety: Creating Safe Places with Internet of Things to Live in Urban

The monitoring of public areas with video cameras is becoming increasingly important due to the security concern around the world. Real-time surveillance of people and their activities in urban environments is becoming increasingly important in the context of public safety. The advance of wireless technologies has expanded the scope and capabilities of camera networks, which now can be used as intelligent platforms to provide public safety. This paper aims to present an occupancy-based surveillance system at the intersection of Internet of Things and wireless camera networks.

A Review on System-on-Chip (SoC) Designs for Real-Time Industrial Application

Now-a-days System-on-a-chip (SoC) technology is used in small, increasingly complex consumer electronic devices. A system-on-a-chip (SoC) is a microchip with all the necessary electronic circuits and parts for a given system, such as a Smartphone or wearable computer, on a single integrated circuit (IC). Day by day the scope & use of the electronics concepts in industrial field is increasing step by step. In this paper the review of newly developed concepts is done for the SoC design for real time industrial application.

This paper also reviews a power and area efficient for industrial application. Further the study of SoC designs for real time industrial application has been carried out.

Automatic Solar Tracker with Dust Wiper Using PID Controller

The Earth receives 174 peta watts (PW) of incoming solar radiation at the upper atmosphere. Approximately 30% is reflected back to space while the rest is absorbed. Solar energy is an alternative for fossil fuels as it is non-polluting, clean, reliable and renewable source of energy. It does not pollute the air by releasing harmful gases like carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide or sulphur oxide. So, the risk of damage to the environment is reduced.

Thus the use of solar devices was more suggested and the traffic signal and street lights in villages was installed using solar panel but the solar PV modules are generally employed in the dusty environments and the dust gets accumulated on the front surface of the module and blocks the incident light form the sun and it reduces the power generation capacity of the module, the power output reduces if the module is not cleaned for a regularly.

In order to regularly clean the dust, this research presents a control application of a sun tracker that is able to follow the sun with high accuracy and clean the dust on the panel without the necessity of either a precise procedure of installation or recalibration. The designed tracking system consists of sensors, microcontroller, drivers for dc motors and gear- bearing arrangements with supports and mountings.

DC motor is used to move the system panel so that sun's beam is able to remain aligned with the solar panel and also clean the dust on the panel which improves the efficiency of the solar panel. Simulation and experimental results are obtained to a low cost single axis solar tracker and are exposed. Energy saving factors are taken into account, which implies that, among other factors, the sun is not constantly tracked with the same accuracy, to prevent energy over consumption by the motors.

Designing MATLAB GUI for various Analog and Digital Communication Systems

MATLAB is widely used technical computing software. MATLAB provides graphical design tools such as Simulink and Dials. This paper deals in designing modulation and demodulation techniques of various analog and digital communication systems like AM, FM, PM, PAM, PWM, PPM, PCM, ASK, FSK, PSK, MSK, QPSK, BPSK, BFSK, DSB-SC, SSB-SC. A graphical user interface provides a familiar environment to work.

This environment contains pushbuttons, toggle buttons, lists, menus, text boxes, and so forth, all of which are already familiar to the user, so that he or she can concentrate on using the application rather than on the mechanics involved in doing things. Many MATLAB products, such as Curve Fitting Toolbox, Signal Processing Toolbox and Control System Toolbox include apps with custom user interfaces. However, GUIs are harder for the programmer because a GUI-based program must be prepared for mouse clicks (or possibly keyboard input) for any GUI element at any time.

Such inputs are known as events, and a program that responds to events is said to be event driven. A graphical User interface (GUI) is a system of graphical elements that allow a user to interact with software using mouse application. GUI can also display data in tabular form or as plots, and can group related components. The graphical user interface (GUI), is a type of user interface that allows users to interact with electronic devices through graphical icons and visual indicators such as secondary notation, instead of text-based user interfaces, typed command labels or text navigation.

Experimental Study of a Wi-Fi Module for Radon Data Communication

Radon is an invisible, odorless, and chemically inactive radioactive gas produced by the decay of uranium ore. Various types of equipment and components have been proposed for use in effective radon detection. In this paper, we describe a radon detector that uses a PIN photodiode radon-sensor module and a Wi-Fi-based radon monitoring system. Based on our studies, we believe that this system would be helpful in protecting many people from the dangers associated with radon exposure.
