Serial Manipulator Design for an AG-Robot

At present observation all the industries are looking at Robotization, to increase productivity and quality. The industrial robots of today may not look the least bit like a human being although all the research is directed to provide more and more anthropomorphic and humanlike features and super-human capabilities. in these Robots can perform desired tasks in unstructured environments without continuous human guidance. Many kinds of robots are autonomous to some degree. In this paper explains about pick and Place Robot design with agriculture application which runs on human guidance. For this two servo motors are used to control the robot.

Micro Control of the robotic arm has been achieved successfully by using servo motors or dc motors. The microcontrollers implement inverse kinematics algorithms and implement position control on the motors.

Improving the Performance of PEM Fuel Cell by Varying the Number of Flow Channels

A fuel cell is a device that converts chemical energy into electrical energy, water, and heat through electrochemical reactions. The water formation cause major problem and it affects performance of fuel cell. In PEM fuel cell excess and least amount of water level may reduces the performance and the efficiency of the fuel cell. The performance of PEM fuel cell mainly depends on flow parameters and design parameters. In this project, the number of pass of serpentine type flow channel was varied and their performances were calculated.

The complete model of PEM fuel cell with single, two & three pass serpentine type flow channels were modeled using SOLID WORKS & AUTOCAD software packages, the surface meshing was done using ANSA software, volume meshing was done using TGRID software and analysis was done using ANSYS FLUENT 13.0 software. From the analysis, it was found that the three pass serpentine type flow channel gave better performance, when compared to single pass and two pass flow channels.

Performance Test on the C.I Engine by using Different Biofuels

On the face of the upcoming energy crisis, vegetable oils have come up as a promising source of fuel. They are being studied widely because of their abundant availability, renewable nature and better performance when used in engines. Many vegetable oils have been investigated in compression ignition engine by fuel modification or engine modification. The vegetable oils have very high density and viscosity, so we have used the methyl ester of the oil to overcome these problems. Their use in form of methyl esters in non-modified engines has given encouraging results.Coconut oil (copra), Waste vegetable oil, Karanja oil (Pongamia Pinnata) is available abundantly in India.

An experimental investigation was made to evaluate the performance characteristics and overall emissions of a diesel engine using different blends of these three methyl esters with mineral diesel. Methyl esters of these three oils were blended with diesel in proportions of 20% and 40% by mass and studied under various load conditions in a compression ignition (diesel) engine. The performance parameters were found to be very close to that of mineral diesel.

The brake thermal efficiency and mechanical efficiency were better than mineral diesel for some specific blending ratios under certain loads. The emission characteristics were also studied and levels of carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitric oxide and hydrocarbons were found to be higher than pure diesel.

A Study of Reducing Harmonic Instability and Reasonable Problems in PMSG based Wind Forms

Unlike conventional power systems where harmonic resonances are coming from passive inductive and capacitive elements, large-scale power electronic systems like wind farms present a more complex system, where the fast dynamics of the power electronic converters may present an inductive or capacitive behavior. Therefore, the interactions between the fast controllers of the power converters and the passive elements may lead to harmonic instability and new resonances at various frequencies.

This paper presents an optimum design technique for the Wind Turbine (WT) inner controllers in a PMSG based wind farm in order to reduce the number of resonances and to mitigate harmonic instability. In the approach, a PMSG based wind farm is modeled as a Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) dynamic system by modeling the high bandwidth control loops of the power converters.

Resonance frequencies and oscillatory modes of the wind farm are identified based on the MIMO matrix. Afterwards, a multi-objective optimization procedure based on Genetic Algorithm (GA) is proposed to put the oscillatory modes of the wind farm in suitable locations in order to minimize the number of the resonances and to guarantee a stable operation of the wind farm. A 400-MW wind farm is studied in the PSCAD/EMTDC software environment to confirm the validity of the proposed optimum design technique.

Power Loss Evaluation Method for Modular Multi-Level Converter with High-Frequency

There is no common accepted way for calculating the valve power loss of modular multilevel converter (MMC). Valve power loss estimation based on analytical calculation is inaccurate to address the switching power loss and valve power loss estimation based on detailed electro-magnetic simulation is of low speed. To solve this problem, a method of valve power loss estimation based on the detailed equivalent simulation model of MMC is proposed.

Results of valve power loss analysis of 201-level 500MW MMC operating at 50Hz~1000Hz are presented. It is seen that the valve power loss of a MMC increased by 12, 40 and 93 % under 200Hz, 500Hz and 1000Hz operating frequency. The article concludes that in a device with isolated inner AC system, MMC operating at higher frequency will be more competitive than typical 50Hz/60Hz MMC with moderate increase of operating power loss and significant reduction of the size of the AC components.

A Study of Incentive Scheme to allocate Big Data Tasks with Mobile Social Cloud

With the proliferation of increasingly powerful mobile devices, mobile users can collaboratively form a mobile cloud to provide pervasive services, such as data collecting, processing, and computing. With this mobile cloud, mobile crowdsourcing, as an emerging service paradigm, can enable mobile users to take over the outsourced tasks. By leveraging the sensing capabilities of mobile devices and integrating human intelligence and machine-computation, mobile crowdsourcing has the potential to revolutionize the approach of data collecting and processing.

In this article we investigate the mobile crowdsourcing architecture and applications, and then discuss some research challenges and countermeasures for developing mobile crowdsourcing. Some research orientations are finally envisioned for further studies.
