An Experimental Investigation on Effect of Fly Ash on Egg Shell Concrete

Egg shell which is made of calcium is thrown away as a waste. When the calcium carbonate is heated a binding material called Calcium Oxide (Lime) is obtained. As lime is the major compound of Portland cement, eggshell powder can be used as partial replacement of fine aggregate.Fly Ash is one of the residues generated in the combustion of coal. Fly ash includes substantial amounts if Silicon dioxide (SiO2) and Calcium Oxide (CaO). 75 million tons of fly ash which are rich in Silica is disposed to landfill as a waste annually in India.

This project aims at examining the feasibility of eggshell powder as a partial replacement of fine aggregate and also to observe the affect of fly ash on the proposed concrete. In the present study, concrete cubes of grade M30 and M40 were prepared in the laboratory by replacing the fine aggregate with fly ash and egg shell powder at combined proportions of 0%, 7%, 14%, 21%, 28%, 35% & 42% by weight.

Tests are conducted at 7 days and 28 days on concrete cubes, cylinders and flexural beams to study compressive strength, split tensile strength and flexural strength/ finally the results are compared with the normal conventional concrete and the effect of fly ash on it is studied

Maximum Power Extraction Strategy for Wind Energy Conversion Systems using Intelligent Controllers

This paper proposes a sway strategy to optimize power output performance of wind energy conversion system. so as to get optimum power output from a turbine generator system, it's necessary to drive the turbine at Associate in Nursing optimum rotor speed for a specific wind speed. symbolic logic based mostly management algorithmic rule is enforced with the embedded microcontroller which can track the utmost wall socket (MPP) by generating acceptable generator load references. The designed controller then forces the system to work towards the settled load reference.

This paper discusses the low value implementation of symbolic logic based mostly MPP algorithmic rule in an exceedingly 8-bit microcontroller victimization the tools and techniques to get optimized real time code in C which can demonstrate however most wall socket hunter would possibly offer elegant and economical resolution for increasing the potency of wind energy conversion systems, supported experimental results instead of on mathematical models. The planned construct is verified and results are bestowed.

A Review on Grid-Connected PV System

The concept of injecting photovoltaic power into the utility grid has earned widespread acceptance in these days of renewable energy generation & distribution. Grid-connected inverters have evolved significantly with high diversity. Efficiency, size, weight, reliability etc. have all improved significantly with the development of modern and innovative inverter configurations and these factors have influenced the cost of producing inverters.

This paper presents a literature review of the recent technological developments and trends in the Grid-Connected Photovoltaic Systems (GCPVS). In countries with high penetration of Distributed Generation (DG) resources, GCPVS have been shown to cause unwanted stress on the electrical grid. A review of the existing and future standards that addresses the technical challenges associated with the growing number of GCPVS is presented.

Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT), Solar Tracking (ST) and the use of transform-less inverters can all lead to high efficiency gains of Photovoltaic (PV) systems while ensuring minimal interference with the grid. Inverters that support ancillary services like reactive power control, frequency regulation and energy storage are critical for mitigating the challenges caused by the growing adoption of GCPVS.

Power Quality Improvement in Grid Connected PV System

The general trends in the past decade of increasing solar cell efficiency, decreasing PV system costs, increasing government incentive programs, and several other factors have all combined synergistically to reduce the barriers of entry for PV systems to enter the market and expand their contribution to the global energy portfolio. The shortcomings of current inverter functions which link PV systems to the utility network are becoming transparent as PV penetration levels continue to increase.

In this paper an analysis of solar system connected with the grid has been done. The system is subjected with two types of perturbations, i.e. variable load and the variable irradiance level which changes the output of the solar system. The design, modeling, and analysis of a grid-tied PV system are performed in the MATLAB software simulation environment. Solar cell works on the principle of photo voltaic effect, which has nonlinear voltage and current characteristics.

These characteristics are improved with the help of maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controller. MPPT controller helps to feed the inverter with maximum power from the solar system. Results indicate that in the presence of grid disturbances the inverter can react dynamically to help restore the power system back to its normal state. A harmonic analysis was also performed indicating the inverter under study met the applicable power quality standards for distributed energy resources

Construction and Analysis of Flyover by BRTS

This paper deals with the construction details of flyover work. which is supposed to make grade separation at intersection and make free movement of traffic. By construction of flyover in vizag town it makes an easy way for the communication of railway station and RTC complex. Also to divert the railway passengers directly to the Railway station, and also clear off the railway station passengers. Flyover is proposed at the heart of the city. Is is mainly used as diverts of Traffic in city.

In this paper for the construction of flyover several Investigation survey, design & execution of four lanes carriage way flyover, two lane carriage way underpass of the City. This paper also includes different stages in the flyover construction such as Traffic studies, Soil investigations, Mix design of concrete used. It is a part of BRTS (BUS RAPID TRANSIST SYSTEM) with this system a lot of traffic pollution may cleared and a direct way to the railway station without much obstructions.

Mechanical Properties of Self Compacting Concrete with Partial Replacement of Rice Husk Ash

Self-compacting concrete (SCC) is relatively a recent development in the construction world. SCC is defined basically by two properties: Deformability and segregation resistance. It flows under its own weight while remaining homogeneous in composition. This research is aimed at examining the feasibility of using Rice Husk Ash as supplementary cementations material. In this research, the main variables are the proportion of rice husk ash (0%, 10%, 15%, 20%) and cement content.

All the results were in range as per code specified. Mix 20RHA showed minimum workability.. The increase of about 25% strength at 7 days, 33% strength at 28days and 36% strength at 56 days were observed with increase of RHA content from control mix (0RHA) to 15RHA. Maximum splitting tensile strength was also obtained bythe mix 15RHA. Greatest increase in mechanical properties was observed for the mix containing 15% rice husk ash.

The inclusion of rice husk ash as replacement of cement does not affect the strength properties negatively as the strength remains within limits up to 20%replacement. Inclusion of RHA showed great improvement in durability Properties of concrete.

Virtualization & Scheduling in Real Time OS: A Survey

Virtualization is the creation of a virtual (rather than actual) version of something, such as a hardware platform, operating system (OS), storage device, or network resources. In a virtualized environment, computing environments can be produced in a forceful dynamic manner, enlarged, become smaller or go in a specified direction or manner as demand varies. Virtualization is therefore highly suitable to a dynamic cloud infrastructure, because it provides important advantages in isolation, manageability and sharing.
