Evaluation of Demolition Waste Aggregates in Paver Blocks for Medium Traffic

In India, total building waste is projected to be between 12 and 14 million tonnes per year, with concrete and brick trash accounting for 7 to 8 million tonnes. Concrete trash is generated in vast quantities during construction, demolition, and renovation. This trash is either disposed of in a landfill or diverted to one. This concrete waste can be recycled in a high quality manner. We offer the notion of sustainable use of concrete waste in concrete that can be utilised to make interlocking paver blocks in this study. After crushing, this concrete waste can be used as a total or half replacement for coarse and fine aggregates in paver blocks in two steps, according to IS.

Analysis of Parabolic Shell by Different Models Using Software SAP 2000

The shell structure consists of a thin reinforced concrete shell without the use of internal columns to create an internal opening., parabolic or spherical cross section. On the other hand, warehouses and playgrounds are conventional concrete frame structures, on the other hand, they can be difficult to design as the exact shape required for the stability of the structure depends on the material used, the dimensions of the enclosure, external or internal loads and other chamfers.. .. Thus, by changing the shell parameter, the performance of the shell will also change. The main goal of this work is to parametrically analyze different designs of cylindrical shells of different lengths in order to analyze two different lengths of taken cylindrical shells, and then change two parameters, first the radius and then the thickness, based on the radii. and the difference in thickness for the same width, length and material of the frame, we will evaluate the behavior of the frame for different models.

Analysis and Implementation of Maximum Power Point Tracking Using Conventional P and O Algorithm for Hybrid System in Different Atmospheric Conditions

As we know, energy generated from the solar and wind systems is not necessarily continuous and consistent. In India, the weather also varies such that in gloomy conditions there will be limited power from the PV battery, while in summer it will be at its highest. So, the weather decreases the systems effectiveness. As a result, an energy efficient approach is required to find an optimum point of action to obtain the full amount of energy under various atmospheric conditions. This paper suggested an updated turbulence and maximal power point monitoring controller for wind and solar hybrid energy systems. The controller uses the modified fixed disruption and observation system to achieve the MPP by changing the service cycle of each input module. Results are presented on a 200W wind system as well as a 400W solar wind energy system with differing irradiation strength and wind speed to illustrate the merits of the experiment.

Analysis and Implementation of Power Quality Enhancement Techniques in Hybrid AC DC Microgrid

With the growth in global warming, renewable energy based distributed generators DGs play a prominent role in power generation. Wind, solar energy, biomass, mini hydro, and the usage of fuel cells and microturbines will provide substantial impetus in the near future. Environmental friendliness, expandability, and flexibility have made distributed generation, powered by a variety of renewable and unconventional energy sources, an appealing alternative for building contemporary electrical systems. A microgrid is made up of a group of loads and dispersed generators that work together to form a single controlled system. Microgrids, as an integrated energy delivery system, may function in tandem with or independently of the main power grid. The microgrid idea reduces the number of reverse conversions in a single AC or DC grid while also making it easier to link variable renewable AC and DC sources and loads to power systems. The connectivity of DGs to the utility grid through power electronic converters has raised concerns regarding equipment safety and protection. The microgrid may be configured to fulfil the customers specific needs, such as greater local dependability, reduced feeder losses, local voltage support, greater efficiency via waste heat usage, voltage sag correction, or uninterruptible power supply. The performance of a hybrid AC DC microgrid system in grid tethered mode is examined in this paper. For the creation of a microgrid, a solar system, a wind turbine generator, and a battery are utilized. Control methods are also included to allow the converters to appropriately coordinate the AC sub grid with the DC sub grid. The MATLAB SIMULINK environment was used to achieve the findings.

Optimization of Agriculture Tractor Seat Vibration Using Passive Suspension System and Modelling and Simulating in Ansys

Operators of agricultural tractor perform various tasks at work that expose them to a variety of risk factors. During their work, agricultural tractor operators are exposed to different negative influences, due to which vibrations are especially harmful. Long term exposure of tractor driver to vibrations induced by agricultural tractor operations may lead to various health problems. It is widely recognised that agricultural tractor operators are exposed to high level of whole body vibration WBV during specific farm operations. WBV may leads to Low back Pain LBP and spinal cord related diseases, therefore the objective of the study is to reduce the level of ride vibrations experienced by tractor seats appear to be necessary and some possible methods of achieving significant improvements. In the present study, The vibration transmitted through the seat of a four wheel drive tractor equipped with front suspension axle and shock absorber for the implement, were measured using OR34 2, 4 Channel FFT analyser and then analysed in terms of root mean square RMS accelerations according to the ISO standard. Several tests were conducted in different conditions considering the type of operation harrowing, ploughing and cultivating at different road conditions on road, sugarcane field and flat field with two different running speeds. Then we developed a new suspension system for tractors seat using spring and dampers to reduce the vibration energy and frequencies up to a suitable range for the operator. Development of Semi Automatic Operated Pneumatic Based Wire Stripping Machine

In recent years, the trend in the business has been toward more automation. A growing number of variables, including improving accuracy and reducing human error, are driving this trend. An in depth examination of the design and development of a pneumatically driven cable stripping machine for industrial mass production is provided in this dissertation, which includes an extensive bibliography. To cut the cable in large diameters in mass production, the industry now employs the traditional technique of employing a cable cutter, which takes longer and needs more manpower to cut the cable than other methods. The precision achieved by the traditional technique is low, and the procedure is time consuming. In addition to providing a solution to the traditional way of solving issues, automation reduces costs and saves time while also increasing accuracy and reducing human mistakes. By using automation, we want to achieve low cost stripping that is both quick and efficient, thereby reducing stripping time. The practical goal of an automated cable stripping machine is to remove the PVC from a cable at the necessary length and in the required number of pieces, according to the specifications. The stripping process in this system is accomplished via the use of pneumatic pressure and an Arduino. In our project, a solenoid valve is utilized to activate a pneumatic double acting cylinder, which is controlled by an Arduino.

The construction sector worldwide is consuming a maximum amount of natural resources and energy. In this respect, the need for reuse and recycling of materials waste had increased over the years due to many infrastructural developments because of increase in rapid population and expansion. For environmental protection, some measures, like limiting the use of finite resources and managing waste disposal, has led to promote to recycle these materials at the end of their service life. For instance, many landfills are approaching their full capacity, with many planned to be closed over the next couple of years. This report presents a case study on the implementation of the construction and demolition waste management practices in the Indian construction sector. The scope was not only limited to the housing but also high rise structures. It is estimated that the waste generated by the housing sector is approximately 17 of the gross materials used, which is about 10 to 12 million tons year, and 32 of such waste has the potential for reuse and recycling. However, the high rise building construction generates construction waste in a large quantity of more than 20 million tons years which shows a high inherent for reusability and reprocessing.

A New Proposal for Smartphone Based Drowsiness Detection and Warning System for Automotive Drivers

This paper proposes a Smartphone based system for the detection of drowsiness in automotive drivers. The proposed system uses three stage drowsiness detection technique. The first stage uses the percentage of eyelid closure PERCLOS which is obtained by capturing images with the front camera of the Smartphone with a modified eye state classification method. The system uses near infrared lighting for illuminating the face of the driver during night driving. The second step uses the voiced to the unvoiced ratio VUR obtained from the speech data from the microphone, in the event PERCLOS crosses the threshold. The VUR is also compared with a threshold and if it is a value greater than that of the threshold, it moves on to the next verification stage. In the final verification stage, touch response is required within the stipulated time to declare whether the driver is drowsy or not and subsequently sound an alarm. To awake the driver, a vibrating mechanism is done and also the live GPS location is also sent to an emergency contact. We have studied eight other reference papers for the literature review. The system has three advantages over existing drowsiness detection systems. First, the three stage verification process makes the system more reliable. The second advantage is its implementation on an Android smart phone, which is readily available to most drivers or cab owners as compared to other general purpose embedded platforms. The third advantage is the use of SMS service to inform the control room as well as the passenger regarding the loss of attention of the driver.

Evaluation of Different Paving Mixes Using Optimum Stabilizing Content

Bituminous mixes are most commonly used all over the world in flexible pavement construction. It consists of asphalt or bitumen used as a binder and mineral aggregate which are mixed together, laid down in layers and then compacted. Under normal circumstances, conventional bituminous pavements if designed and executed properly perform quite satisfactorily but the performance of bituminous mixes is very poor under various situations. Today’s asphaltic concrete pavements are expected to perform better as they are experiencing increased volume of traffic, increased loads and increased variations in daily or seasonal temperature over what has been experienced in the past. In addition, the performance of bituminous pavements is found to be very poor in moisture induced situations. Considering this a lot of work has been done on use of additives in bituminous mixtures and as well as on modification of bitumen. Research has indicated that the addition of polymers to asphalt binders helps to increase the interfacial cohesiveness of the bond between the aggregate and the binder which can enhance many properties of the asphalt pavements to help meet these increased demands. However, the additive that is to be used for modification of mix or binder should satisfy both the strength requirements as well as economical aspects.

Harvesting Renewable Energy by Using Human Foot Step

Man has used tremendous amount of energy for his daily needs. Due to this a lot of energy resources have been exhausted and wasted. Proposal for the utilization of waste energy of foot power with human locomotion is very much relevant and important for highly populated countries like India where the railway station, temples etc., are overcrowded all round the clock. In this paper the force energy is produced by human footsteps and the force energy is converted into mechanical energy by rack and pinion mechanism, electricity is produced by dc generator. And this power source has many applications as in agriculture, home application and street lighting and as energy source for sensors in remote locations. This thesis is all about generating electricity when people walk on the Floor. Think about the forces you exert which is wasted when a person walks by. The idea is to convert the weight energy to electrical energy The Power generating floor intends to translate the kinetic energy to the electrical power. Energy Crisis is the main issue of world these days. The motto of this research work is to face this crisis somehow. Though it won’t meet the requirement of electricity but as a matter of fact if we are able to design a power generating floor that can produce 100W on just 12 steps, then for 120 steps we can produce 1000 Watt and if we install such type of 100 floors with this system then it can produce 1MegaWatt. Which itself is an achievement to make it significant.

From the investigation it has been found that, W formed harshness gives better warmth exchange rate as contrast with the V rib unpleasantness under comparable working conditions. The most extreme estimation of Nusselt number for W formed harshness is acquired with the relative unpleasantness pitch P e of 10 past that it begins diminishing.

Development and Performance of Electro Hydraulic Excavator

The heavy earth moving machineries HEMM like hydraulic excavators play a major role in the construction and mining industries. In an industry of mining and construction, a hydraulic excavator plays a major role in action to perform a carry an heavy load. Employing the technology of automation, an alternative solution is made to replace the manual operation. By addressing the concept of automation in construction, the inevitable usage of embedded is accumulated to introduce in earthmovers. In a mass production or construction site, unplanned work would lead to time consuming and fault. To overcome the major disadvantage of time consuming, so implementation of automation is made on excavators. This could be made workers do other work sequentially with half monitoring the working process of excavator. This also favors the firm or industry to increase the work capability with an adequate number of laborers.

Flexural Behaviour of Steel Fiber Reinforced GEO Polymer Concrete

Concrete is the most used development fabric from historic days. It used to be anticipated that the manufacturing of cement would be accelerated from about from 1.5 billion lots in 1995 to 2.2 billion lots in 2020. But 2018 china the usage of 2.37 billion lots individually. India is the 2nd biggest producer of cement in the world. Cement enterprise is anticipated to attain 550  –  600 million lots per annum at 2025. The cement manufacturing contributes almost 8 of worlds world warming due to emission of greenhouse gases, such as CO2, to the atmosphere. Hence, it is indispensable to discover a replacement cloth for cement. The technological know how Geo polymer concrete determined as choice for this problem. In this existing research, cement is changed with Fly Ash and GGBS in distinct percentages with steel fibers. The research exhibit that the load carrying capability of most of the gpc combine was once in the most instances extra than that of traditional normal Portland cement concrete mix. The clean and hardened homes of geo polymer concrete had been observed with and except metal fiber. The mechanical traits of all the examined mixes are to be more suitable with the aid of the GGBS content, in each undeniable and metal fiber strengthened geo polymer concrete. A comparative evaluation has been carried out for regular traditional concrete to that of the metal fiber strengthened geo polymer concrete below ambient curing in relation to compressive, break up tensile, flexural strengths. As the fiber content material normally will increase compressive, cut up tensile and flexural strengths are proportionally increased.

Experimental Study of Mechanical Properties of Sintered Fly Ash Aggregate in Concrete

This paper gives the work carried out for the enhancement of mechanical residences of sintered homes fly ash mixture in concrete. Fiber Reinforced Concrete is a composite fabric consisting of a matrix containing a random distribution or dispersion of small fibers, having a excessive tensile strength. Alkali resistant glass fiber prevents corrosion and helps enhance concrete properties. Like make bigger tensile strength, enhance resistance to impact, amplify shear strength, higher water resisting properties. Glass fibers weight is lots lighter than when metal is used in concrete. Good freeze thaw resistance helps shield various climatic stipulations at marine environments in very bloodless international locations In this study, Conventional concrete has the trait regarded as brittle failure due to the fact it has a semi crystalline structure, which tends to shatter on impact. This is mainly risky when subjected to explosive pressure due to the fact ballistic particles is created which can create giant collateral damage. This is no longer the case with GRFC, as it does no longer ride brittle failure. it is determined to scan locate out the power and sturdiness of the Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete made the usage of Cement for assessing its suitability for Marine and Hydraulic Constructions.

THD Minimization and Fault Analysis of Modular Multilevel Converters

Modular Multilevel Converters M2Cs have become an interesting topology for dc ac conversions and vice versa showing advantages of high modularity, extensible, fault tolerant ability, high quality output and decreased harmonics. Number of converter sub modules SMs operates in a sequence, generating multilevel output voltages and currents. This manuscript focuses on the comparative analysis of M2Cs based upon the total harmonic distortion THD under the application of LCL filter. The objective of filter application is to ensure that voltage harmonic distortion at the point of common coupling is less than 5 . Also, a fault monitoring scheme to detect and localize M2C SM switch failures is discussed. The presented scheme detects and localizes the fault in relatively lesser time. Simulation results are presented in order to verify results based upon the prototypes with 5, 7 and 9 level M2C.

Numerical Evaluation of Temperature Distribution and Stresses Developed in Resistance Spot Welding

Resistance spot welding is a type of electric resistance welding used to weld various sheet metal products through a process in which contacting metal surface points are joined by the heat obtained from resistance to electric current. The intense heat generated and rapid cooling of the joint produce residual stresses and distortion in the joint. The prediction of residual stresses before carrying actual welding is important for the prevention of these stresses. In this study thermo elasto plastic analyses are carried out to simulate resistance welding under various conditions. Mild steel sheets of equal and unequal thicknesses and aluminium sheets of equal and unequal thicknesses have been spot welded with the application of pressure which is determined by measuring force on the joint with a load cell. The size and shape of the nugget for different spot welding conditions is ascertained. The residual stresses under different spot welding conditions are compared.

Modeling and Simulation of Grid Connected PV System

The paper describes the Grid connected solar photovoltaique system using DC DC boost converter and the DC AC inverter VSC to supplies electric power to the utility grid. The PV cell model is easy, accurate, and takes external temperature and solar radiation into consideration. The paper presents detailed transient models of the grid connected PV Battery hybrid generation system, and all these models are simulated by using MATLAB Simulink. PV array is firstly connected to the common dc bus by a boost converter, where the battery is also connected by a bi directional DC DC converter, and then integrated into the ac utility grid by a common DC AC inverter. Maximum power point tracking helps PV array to generate the maximum power to the grid, and the battery energy storage can be charged and discharge to balance the power between PV generation and utility grid.
