Simulation of Automatic Water Level Control System by using Programmable Logic Controller

This research focuses on the design and implementation of a PLC based water level control system. In this research, there are three primary objectives the water level indicator circuit design, manual control system of water level control and the PLC based automatic water level control. Float switches cannot be able to use to indicate the multi water level in the desired control system. Therefore, AND gate based digital electronic water sensor is invented and used in this proposed not only manual water level control but also PLC based automatic water level control by dividing in eight steps. Induction motor is used to drive the pump as a one set package. So, induction motor starting method is selected according to the power rating of motor, type of motor and nature of application. Star delta starting method is used to reduce the starting current of induction motor. For PLC based automatic water level control, Siemens S7 1200 PLC is used to control the desire water level. There are 10 inputs and 10 outputs in the proposed automatic water level control. Ladder diagram programming is used for this control.

Performance Analysis of OFDM System for Middleton Class A Noise

Power Line Communication PLC becomes the preferred technique for providing broadband to homes and offices with the advantage of eliminating the need for new wiring infrastructure and reducing the cost. An effect of an impulsive noise is identified as one of the major impairment in PLC. Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing OFDM is one of the modulation techniques for PLC by most researchers and is used in this research. The performance of OFDM is analysed by adding Middleton Class A noise and applying it to the channel in an attempt to corrupt the signal. The results will show that the different modulation orders of Phase Shift Keying PSK are applied to test the input image which may be any size of a gray scale image or a colour image by comparing the values of Bit Error Rate BER , the average phase error and the percentage of pixel errors in the operation of OFDM system. In doing so, GUI from MATLAB software is used to simulate the operation of virtual transmitter and receiver.

Material Selection of Crankshaft for 2C Diesel Engine

Crankshaft is the main component part of an engine. The main aim of this thesis is to select the crankshaft materials with minimum Von Misses stress and displacement. That is considered material selection, theory and calculation of crankshaft for static load. The function of the crankshaft is to convert the reciprocation motion of the piston to rotary motion of the flywheel. If the crankshaft is suddenly deformable, the engine will not work. The type of the crankshaft is used for four cylinder, four stroke 2C Diesel Engine Light Truck , which is fully supported, multi throws, centre crankshaft. The compression ratio of this engine is 22.5. This thesis is mainly compared the Von Misses stresses and displacement of three different materials. As the crankshaft is subjected to complex bending, shear and twisting loads, it needs to be well designed quality material to withstand the high stresses. The total length of the crankshaft is 460 mm. The crankpin diameter is 50 mm and the main diameter is 56 mm. The crankpin length is 28 mm and the main journal length is 29 mm. In this thesis, crankshaft design is modelled and compared the simulation results with acting static load on the crankshaft by using AutoDesk Inventor software. In AutoDesk Inventor software, it is needed to apply boundary condition on the existing crankshaft for stress analysis report. The gas force acting on the middle of the crankpins is 44198.512 N. The combustion pressure was used to calculate the gas force acting on the crankshaft and modelled the geometry of crankshaft. Finally, Carbon steel will be selected because it has minimum Von Misses stress and displacement.

Improving Properties of M30 Grade of Concrete by Adding Glass Fibers

This Experimental work shows the investigation on M30 grade due to incorporation of glass fibers. In this Experiment, we used the glass fibers of Filament diameter 14 microns with aspect ratio 857.1 at various percentages as 0 , 0.4 , 0.8 , 1.2 , 1.6 by the weight of cement on M30 grade of mix proportion 1 1.60 2.96 with water cement ratio 0.45. Hence, in this research the Experimental investigations and analysis of results were conducted to study the compressive, tensile and flexural behavior of composite concrete with varying percentage of such fibers added to it. The concrete mix adopted were M30 with varying percentage of fibers ranging from 0, 0.4, 0.8, 1.2 and 1.6 by weight of cement. On the analysis of test results, the concrete with straight glass fibers had improved performance as compared to the conventional concrete, which was readily available in market. From the experimental investigation, It has been found that optimum dosage amount of glass fiber of concrete is 1.2 by weight of concrete because at this point the compressive strength of GFRC increased up to 17.36 as compared to plain concrete while the flexural Strength increased up to 35 and Split Tensile Strength increased up to 40 . The common person in their regular constructions could easily adopt these sustainable improvements or modifications.

Properties of Concrete using Plastic Scrap a Review

The plain cement concrete has very low tensile strength, restricted pliability, and little protection from breaking. Inward miniaturized scale breaks are innately present in the concrete and its poor rigidity is because of the proliferation of such small cracks, in the long run prompting fragile disappointment of the concrete. The most generally acknowledged solution for this flexural shortcoming of cement is the regular fortification with high quality steel. Regardless of the way that these procedures offer flexibility to people, they however dont grow the trademark unbending nature of solid itself. In like manner the help putting and profitable compaction of RCC is amazingly troublesome if the solid is of low workability especially by virtue of overpowering solid M 30 . In plain concrete and near feeble materials, assistant parts scaled down scale breaks become even before stacking, particularly on account of drying shrinkage or distinctive purposes behind volume change. The width of these breaks on occasion outperforms a few microns, yet their two estimations may be of higher enormity.

Soil Stabilization Using Waste Materials in Sri Lanka

The uses of automobiles are increasing day by day because of that the waste of tyres increases in Sri Lanka. Safer disposal of rubber tyre waste has become a challenging job in Sri Lanka. As a result of the improper way of disposal, there is a great damage to eco system like air pollution and aesthetic pollution. So that use of their basic properties in engineering applications are become prominent. This investigation has focused on the CBR of soil reinforced with randomly mixed shredded rubber tyre chips and the results will be compared with unreinforced samples. The optimal percentage value of shredded rubber tyre content in soil will be determined using the Standard proctor compaction test and CBR test. Increases in CBR value significantly reduce the total thickness of the pavement and hence the total cost involved in the road projects.

Study of Silica Fume Blended Concrete using Statistical Mixture Experiment and Optimizing of Compressive Strength of Cement Concrete

The prime objective of this study is to design, analyze and optimize the silica fume blended concrete using Statistical Mixture Experiment and to explore the practicability of Statistical mixture experiment in mix design of concrete containing the several components. The traditional mix design methods have drawbacks. Traditional method of mix design of concrete fails in designing the complex concrete mixture containing the cementitious materials, pozzolanic materials and several admixtures. Traditional methods are based on trial and error method in which effect of only one component can be determined. Trial and error does not provide the whole picture of concrete mixture. In this study, the statistical mixture design method is employed to analyze the effects of silica fume on 28 days compressive strength of concrete and to design and optimize the silica fume blended concrete. The components of concrete mixture are Cement, silica fume, water and aggregate. Total of 15 runs or design points are generated which are combinations of proportions and laboratory experiment is carried out on these design points and 28 days compressive strength is measured. Mathematical relationship is established between 28 days compressive strength and proportions of components using least square technique and then mathematical model is studied to analyze the effects of silica fume in concrete.

Enhancing Availability of Data in Mixed Homomorphic Encryption in Cloud

In Forthcoming times of information technology companies, cloud computing updated as the structural model. There are so many benefits of cloud computing in technical as well as in organization. But still there are many new objections will carried in cloud computing for example in data security in cloud storage. There are many approaches available for data security in cloud storage like encryption with obfuscation technique, watermark security, data partitioning technique. In above all the approaches, there is no possibility that cloud data centers are operate computation on encrypted data so every time if user wants to modify data, it is necessary to decrypt data. The most used technique for providing security in cloud storage is Homomorphic encryption. In the homomorphic encryption technique, there is no need to decrypt whole data whenever user wants to update data. In the existing system used the mixed homomorphic scheme which reduce noise level in homomorphic encryption technique. The existing system focus on data corruption and data modification but what if system failure and power failure occurs. The user data may be loss in any reasons and user may not have any copy of data. The Existing system not focus on data loss. So in proposed work focus on availability of data by erasure code. By applying the erasure code if in any case user data is loss, will be reconstructed which provide more security than existing system.

LSB Based Stegnography to Enhance the Security of an Image

Steganography is the technique of hiding a secret message or information in a cover message like an image, text or sound in such a way that only the desired or intended recipient knows about the existence of the secret data. It can be defined as the study of invisible communication which usually deals with the technique of hiding the existence of the secret message. The hidden message may be in the form of text, image, audio and video etc. An image after inserting the secret message into it by using a stego key is known as a stego image. Nowadays steganography is important due to an exponential growth in secret communication by potential computer users over the internet. In this paper we have analyzed the various steganography techniques and propose to enhance the security of the secret message by random selection of the keys to extract the secret message and working towards increasing the PSNR Peak Signal to Noise Ratio and decreasing the MSE Mean Square Error .

Effect of Sintering Temperature on Mechanical Properties of Aluminum Composites

Using Al, Al2O3 and SiC, different types of composites have been prepared in this experiment. Green compacts of Al composites were made at a compressing load of 1 ton and 2 ton respectively. These compacts were sintered at two different sintering temperatures of 400 °C and 450 °C in an oxygen free environment using muffle furnace for one hour followed by annealing process which took 12 hours. Sintered compacts were then sintered to micro structural examination and mechanical properties evaluation. Higher hardness has been attained for the composites containing 2.5 SiC. Attempts have been made to describe the influence of sintering temperature on the microstructure and properties of Al Al2O3 SiC composites. Samples are prepared of 100 Al, 97.5 Al 2.5 Al2O3, 92.5 Al 7.5 Al2O3, 95 Al 2.5 Al2O3 "“ 2.5 SiC, 92.5 Al 5 Al2O3 "“ 2.5 SiC, 95 Al "“ 5 Al2O3. The main objective of this experiment is to determine the factors that can increase hardness of Al composites.

Classification of Leukemia Detection in Human Blood Sample Based on Microscopic Images

Nowadays, the automatic specific tests such as Cytogenetics, Immunophenotyping and morphological cell classification can identify the leukemia disease by making experienced operators observing blood or bone marrow microscopic images. The early identification of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia ALL symptoms in patients can greatly increase the probability of recovery. When typical symptoms appear in normal blood analysis, those methods are not included into large screening programs and are applied only. The method of blood cell observation using Cytogenetics and Immunophenotyping diagnostic methods are currently preferred for their great accuracy with respect to present undesirable drawbacks slowness and it presents a not standardized accuracy since it depends on the operator's capabilities and tiredness. The detection of leukemia in human blood sample using microscopic images is suitable for low costs and remote diagnosis systems. In this paper presents an implementation of detection and classification of leukemia. The system will use features in microscopic images and examine changes on texture, shape and color analysis. Support Vector Machines SVM is used as a classifier, which classifies into cancerous or not. The detection and classification of ALL is implemented with MATLAB programming language.

Applications and Effects of Silica Fume and Nano Silica on the Compressive Strength of Concrete

The application of nanotechnology in concrete adds new content to efforts to improve its performance. Due to the very small size of nanomaterials, the properties of concrete can be influenced by changing the microstructure. The study involved the use of 215 nm nano silica to increase the compressive strength of concrete. Experimental studies were performed at 0.4 , 0.7 and 1 of BC. These tests have greatly improved the strength of the early pressure and the overall pressure strength of the concrete. As the percentage of nano silica increases, an increase in strength is observed. Concrete is the material of present and future. Its widespread use in structures, from buildings to factories, bridges and airports, makes it one of the most searched materials in the 21st century. Due to rapid population explosion and the rise of technology to meet these needs, there is an urgent need to improve the strength and durability of concrete. Among the various materials used in concrete production, cement plays an important role due to its size and adhesive properties. Therefore, for the production of improved concrete, the cement humidification mechanism should be studied properly and better alternatives should be proposed. Current research is the design of M40 M30 quality of concrete. The mixtures developed to obtain more rheological properties and solid properties were studied. In this study, the cement is replaced by silica smoke and nano silica materials. In addition, it is planned to determine the number of predictions of cubes in the program. The current design of the probe is the strength of M40 and M30 quality of concrete. This thesis explore the standard optimization ratio for silica and fume to get the best compressive strength. Further this has to check for Indian standard uses for developing the demand of quality users in India. Finally this research lead us to create the console for evaluating the strength of concrete.

Traffic Light Detection for Red Light Violation System

The goal of Red Light Violation Detection System RLVDS is to track down vehicles that violated traffic regulations using surveillance cameras and image processing techniques. A complete automated red light runner detection algorithm that satisfies real time requirement and gives higher accuracy have been developed. The system detects simultaneously a traffic light sequence, stop line and detection region to detect moving vehicles and capture the vehicles beyond the stop line while the light is red and finally generates the red light running vehicle images with date and time information. In this paper, we propose a traffic light detection algorithm which is one of the processes of automated red light runner detection system. The proposed traffic light detection system includes four steps color space conversion based on RGB color space, some regions are extracted as candidates of a traffic light and morphological operation is applied to eliminate disturbance in the environment that can interfere with the traffic light states. Then, the types of traffic signals are judged by calculating image moments and the results of experiment show that the system is stable and reliable.

Comparison of Three Different Cancellation Schemes for Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing OFDM System

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing OFDM is an exceptional case of Frequency Division Multiplexing. The dilemma of OFDM is its sensitivity to frequency offset between the transmitted and received carrier frequencies. This frequency offset establishes Inter Carrier Interference ICI Cancellation in the OFDM symbol. ICI reduction methods have been had by OFDM. This research considers three ICI self cancellation SC , maximum likelihood ML estimation, and extended Kalman filter EKF method. These three methods are compared in terms of bit error rate performance, bandwidth efficiency, and computational complexity. For high values of the frequency offset and for higher order modulation schemes, the SC method does not as well as the ML and EKF methods. Simulation results using MATLAB software.

Shadow Detection and Removal using Tricolor Attenuation Model Based on Feature Descriptor

Presently present TAM FD, a novel expansion of tricolor constriction model custom fitted for the difficult issue of shadow identification in pictures. Past strategies for shadow discovery center on learning the neighborhood appearance of shadow areas, while utilizing restricted nearby setting thinking as pairwise possibilities in a Conditional Random Field. Interestingly, the proposed methodology can display more elevated amount connections and worldwide scene attributes. We train a shadow locator that relates to the generator of a restrictive TAM, and expand its shadow precision by consolidating the run of the mill TAM misfortune with an information misfortune term utilizing highlight descriptor. Shadows happen when articles impede direct light from a wellspring of enlightenment, which is generally the sun. As indicated by the rule of arrangement, shadows can be separated into cast shadow and self shadow. Cast shadow is planned by the projection of articles toward the light source self shadow alludes to the piece of the item that isnt enlightened. For a cast shadow, the piece of it where direct light is totally hindered by an article is named the umbra, while the part where direct light is mostly blocked is named the obscuration. On account of the presence of an obscuration, there wont be an unequivocal limit among shadowed and non shadowed regions the shadows cause incomplete or all out loss of radiometric data in the influenced zones, and therefore, they make errands like picture elucidation, object identification and acknowledgment, and change recognition progressively troublesome or even inconceivable. SDI record improves by 1.76 . Shading segment record for safeguard shading difference during evacuation of shadow procedure is improved by 9.75 . The Level of Access to the Help for Catubig Agricultural Advancement Project HCAAP

In the Philippines, poverty alleviation programs concentrate much on the agricultural sector as the backbone of the country's economy as has always been a concern of every development plan of countries and the focus of development economics on problem of poverty. Agriculture is the main source of livelihood of the majority of the people in Northern Samar. That to pull the rural poor out of poverty and to sustain rapid economic growth, a 5.2 billion yen or 3.4 billion pesos allocation for the Help for Catubig Argricultural Advancement Project HCAAP was pushed to target the resolution of such issues as poverty, health, and accessibility. Generally, the objective of this research work is to assess the level of access of the farmer beneficiaries to the Help for Catubig Agricultural Advancement Project HCAAP on the farmer beneficiaries and to identify the HCAAP related problems encountered by the respondents. This research work is a descriptive evaluative study that calls for a quantitative method for data collection and analyses using Qualitative techniques like survey employing interview schedule. Purposive sampling was used in selecting the Barangays covered by the five components of the HCAAP then Stratified sampling was used in selecting the respondent beneficiaries. First, sample size was computed using the formula of Slovin. From that formula, 280 constituted the sample size. With stratified sampling, the five barangays were equally represented. The collected data were treated using frequency counts, percentages, mean, and ranking. It was found out that the HCAAP components were of moderate Accessibility with irrigation and drainage component got the lowest score of only 2.41 interpreted as low accessibility. It was concluded that the project would deny the beneficiaries of the of the access to the components of the HCAAP if it remained uncompleted. Irrigation system and farm to market roads were accessible were found useful only to land owners, few businessmen and not to a mere tenant. Hence, implementing agencies should fast track the completion of other components especially irrigation component and the government to give more land to the landless in the HCAAP service areas.
