Literature Review on Single Image Super Resolution

In this paper, a detailed survey study on single image super-resolution (SR) has been presented, which aims at recovering a high-resolution (HR) image from a given low-resolution (LR) one. It is always the research emphasis because of the requirement of higher definition video displaying, such as the new generation of Ultra High Definition (UHD) TVs.

Super-resolution (SR) is a popular topic of image processing that focuses on the enhancement of image resolution. In general, SR takes one or several low-resolution (LR) images as input and maps them as output images with high resolution (HR), which has been widely applied in remote sensing, medical imaging, biometric identification.

Image Denoising by OWT for Gaussian Noise Corrupted Images

In this paper denoising techniques for AWGN corrupted image has been mainly focused. Visual information transfer in the form of digital images becomes a vast method of communication in the modern scenario, but the image obtained after transmission is many a times corrupted with noise.  OWT SURE-LET color denoising is based on linear expansion of thresholds (LET) and optimized using Stein' unbiased risk estimate (SURE).

In this method, noisy color image is processed through Orthonormal Wavelet Transform (OWT) followed by thresholding of each channel wavelet coefficients. Finally, inverse wavelet transform is applied to bring back the result to the image domain. It efficiently exploits inter channel correlations. In order to remove the noise in multichannel images, OWT is applied on each channel.

Efficient Cluster Head Replacement LEACH Protocol for Wireless Sensor Networks

In this work, M-LEACH (Modified Distributed Energy Efficient Clustering) protocol, a new variant of LEACH is proposed after survey of LEACH. The proposed M-LEACH is designed for three different segregations for the nodes to elongate the stability & lifetime of the network. Hence, it increases the heterogeneity & energy level of the network.

In LEACH, amplification energy is set same for all kinds of transmissions. Using low energy level for intra cluster transmissions with respect to cluster head to BS transmission leads in saving much amount of energy. Moreover, multi power levels also reduce the packet drop ratio, collisions and or interference for other signals. The proposed M-LEACH outperforms to existing classical LEACH.

Performance Analysis of Congestion Control Algorithm for Mobility Model in Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks by using Modified AODV Protocols

The Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs) often deal with obstacles that occur in the form of packet loss and so that can be efficiently reduced by involving congestion control which includes routing algorithm and a flow control at the network layer. We are proposing agent based agent based congestion control technique for MANETs in this paper with Modified AODV protocol.

Here the mobile agents (MA) collect and broadcast the information about network congestion .The mobile agent based congestion control AODV routing protocol is used to avoid congestion in ad hoc network, and the modification done to have the same route for the MANET without changing it. Which can be done by inserting a protocol which alerts the sender to send some less packets in real time. The work of mobile agents is to carry routing information and nodes congestion status whenever the MANET is created.

Whenever a mobile agent moves through the network, it selects a less-loaded neighbour node as its next hop and simultaneously keeps on updating routing table according to the node' congestion status. With the help of mobile agents, such is the role of MAs which creates the dynamic network topology in real time. Considering the simulation results using NS-2, we showed that our proposed technique efficient that traditional one which has numerous amount of packet loss. Our protocol has high delivery ratio and throughput with reduced delay which results in providing efficient protocol when compared with the different existing techniques.

Optimization of a Composite Drive Shaft by Minimizaton of Sink Mark Defects in Injection Moulding Process

The purpose of this paper is to present an integrated approach for improving the quality characteristics of the injection molded part (Honda Upper Part) being manufactured at manufacturing industry (Pakistan), where the rejection rate for Honda upper part was on ramp due to sink marks defects. The proposed integrated approach embraces the concept of Design of Experiments (Taguchi Approach) and Response surface design methodology for injection molding process optimization.

The Taguchi Method (TM) was used to short list the variables that have significant effects on the sink marks in injection molded parts. Furthermore, the optimization approach of Response Surface Methodology (RSM) was utilized for the experimental research to acquire a prediction model that can be used to optimize injection molding process in terms of fine sink marks reduction. The result shows that the sink marks reduction Predicted by the integration of the Taguchi Method and RSM indeed decreased from 0.0088 (Taguchi' result) down to 0.0080 mm.

The empirical results reveal that the integration of the Taguchi Method and RSM could effectively improve the quality. Basically with these experiments, we tried to open the vision of manufacturers and designers regarding the application of integrated RSMTaguchi approach using linear cum interaction regression model with selected parametriclevels setting for the dimensional accuracy of the injection molded part, and thus contributing towards improvement in process' reliability. The integrated approach with regression model for optimization does not only provide theoretical worth to the literature and manufacturersdesigners but can also be applied to different manufacturing industries for quality parts production.

Analytical Investigation of Rake Contact and Friction Behaviour in Metal Cutting

The friction due to the contact between the work piece and the tool is one of the key subjects in machining research. It is well known that cutting involves three deformation zones. The primary shear zone, i.e. the shear plane, is responsible for the chip formation whereas in the secondary shear zone on the rake face the work piece and tool are in a complex state of contact.

The third region, on the other hand is responsible for the ploughing and flank contact. Although there are numerous models proposed involving, analytical, semi¬ analytical, and numerical (mostly FEM) based methods, two important inputs for these models are the material model parameters and the friction coefficient between the tool and the work piece material.

By considering literature surveys, the friction behavior in metal cutting operations is analyzed using a thermo mechanical cutting process model that represents the contact on the rake face by sticking and sliding regions. The relationship between the sliding and the overall, i.e. apparent, friction coefficients are analyzed quantitatively. The sliding friction coefficient is identified for different work piece"“tool couples using cutting tests. In addition, the effect of the total, sticking and sliding contact lengths on the cutting mechanics is investigated.

The effects of cutting conditions on the friction coefficients and contact lengths are analyzed. The cutting tool materials are Uncoated Carbide and Coated Carbide tools, and the Work piece material is aluminum which is being machined at cutting speed ranging from 600 mmin to 1200 mmin with a depth of cut 2mm.By considering the experimental results for the analysis of Rake Angle and friction behavior in metal cutting (Turning), the parameters are optimized by using the Taguchi method. For this an appropriate orthogonal array has been selected as per number of factors and their levels to perform minimum experimentations and Minitab software "“ test is performed to check the significance.

SVM Classifiers at it Bests in Brain Tumor Detection using MR Images

This paper presents some case study frameworks to limelight SVM classifiers as most efficient one compared to existing classifiers like Otsu, k-means and fuzzy c-means. In general, Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) are more dominant imaging technique for any brain lesions detection like brain tumor, Alzheimer' disease and so on. MR imaging takes a lead technically for imaging medical images due to its possession of large spatial resolution and provides better contrast for the soft tissues like white matter (WM), gray matter (GM) and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).

The usual method used for classification of lesions in brain images consists of pre-processing, feature extraction, feature reduction and classification. Early detection of the tumor region without much time lapse in computation can be achieved by using efficient SVM classifier model.

Brain tumor grade classifications with the assistance of morphologically selected features are extracted and tumor classification is attained using SVM classifier. The assessment of SVM classifications are evaluated through metrics termed as sensitivity, exactness and accuracy of segmentation. These measures are then compared with existing methods to exhibit the SVM classifier as significant classifier model.

IOT a Dynamic Approach for Smart System Monitoring on Soil

The cultivation in our nation is much reduced due to lack of interest, scarcity of agriculture land and water and some farmers with their own interest they have been doing the cultivation at the present. But that also yields to very less production due to lack of awareness about the land dryness, no timely pesticide usage and suitable crops for the land.

Hence the smart agriculture plays a vital role in promoting cultivation. It gives the solution by means of placing the sensor in the cultivation land to measure the soil efficiency. The paper describes how the sensed data will be processed and stored in cloud and from cloud the data will be relayed to the registered farm owners through their device in user understandable form.

Automatic Pump Controller for Solar Photovoltaic Irrigation System

The need of electricity for rural areas, especially for water supply systems, is crucial for farmers. Stand-alone solar systems are applicable for areas no power grid, in this system is operated when the radiation is sufficient to supply the system with can be stored water and energy. The main purpose of this journal is to develop a solar watering system capable of performing irrigation task automatically.

This system uses sensor that determines soil moisture by soil moisture sensor for watering pump, water level indicator also its pumping system from well to water tank that detects ultrasonic sensor. In this system, a pump is powered by solar photovoltaic which controlled by Arduino Uno. And this journal also discusses the prototype design of microcontroller based on water irrigation which detects a soil if watering is required then the water will be maintained at the constant level.

And the system is designed by applying an ultrasonic sensor, an Arduino Uno microcontroller, and a pumping machine in order to automatically switch the water filling. The prototype has shown that the system able to reduce wasteful electrical energy and human intervention at minimum cost as the entire system runs only using solar energy. The prototype can be proposed to handle the water pump problems due to the utilizations of the manual switch as well as the floating ball tap to stop the water tank filling.

A Study on Mesh Free Methods: A Different Form of FEM

Roots of Mesh-free methods go back to the seventies. The major difference to finite element methods is that the domain of interest is discretized only with nodes, often called particles. These particles interact via mesh-free shape functions in a continuum framework similar as finite elements do although particle "connectivity" can change over the course of a simulation.

This flexibility of mesh-free methods has been exploited in applications with large deformations in fluid and solid mechanics, e.g. to name a few, free-surface flow, metal forming, fracture and fragmentation, to name a few. Though there are a few publications on mesh-free methods formulated in an Eulerian (or ALE) description, e.g. Fries 2005, most mesh-free methods are pure Lagrangian in character.

The non negligible advantages of mesh-free methods as compared to finite elements are: their higher order continuous shape functions that can be exploited e.g. for thin shells; higher smoothness; certain advantages in crack propagation problems. The most unhidden drawback of mesh-free methods is probably their higher computational cost, regardless of some instabilities that certain mesh-free methods have. The paper deals with the basic methodology of mesh-free methods along with the mathematics involved.

Performance Analysis of Congestion Control Algorithm for Mobility Model in Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks (MANET)

The mobile ad-hoc networks (MANET) is network where the mobile nodes move randomly and freely without any centralized administration or control. Where mobile nodes in MANET works both as routers and as hosts. As we know the challenges faced by the wireless and distributed nature of ad hoc networks such the chances of losing packets over the network increases to a great extent as well as the packet loss occurring with the increase in size of the data packets which are often responsible for congestion in the network.

Now In order to detect congestion in the network, there are various congestion control algorithms are used. This paper gives a study of the congestion control algorithm used in MANET' and tries to propose a simple congestion control algorithm for mobility models such as random walk model for MANET'. The objective of this paper is to design an efficient congestion control technique to reduce the amount of congestion in the network.

Li-Fi Technology in Wireless Data Communication

Light Fidelity (Li-Fi) technology is a novel method of wireless communication network based on the use of visible LED lights between the violet (800 THz) and red (400 THz) to transmit data wirelessly. Li-Fi has much broader spectrum compared to conventional methods of wireless communication for data transmission which depends on radio waves. The principle of Li-Fi is based on sending data by amplitude modulation of light source in a well-defined and consistent way.

The concept of Li-Fi assures to solve issues like shortage of radio-frequency bandwidth and eliminates the drawbacks of Radio communication technologies. Li-Fi technology provides better bandwidth, faster transfer speed, efficiency and security as compared with Wi-Fi. Evaluation of Compression Lines and Aging Effect on Clayey Soils

the intrinsic compression lines (ICL) obtained from this study can be used for studying the compressive behaviour of clayey soils due to aging effect. The results of oedometer tests of undisturbed samples were compared with the corresponding results of recomposed samples at room and high temperature and slurry samples.

The values of compression index, Cc and pcpe*, where pc is the preconsolidation pressure and pe* is the equivalent pressure on the compression curve of slurry (1.5wL) sample when the sample yields, of undisturbed samples are different from those of recomposed samples due to the effect of soil structure. The compression lines of slurry samples obtained from the relationship of void index and effective overburden pressure can be expressed by the equations with sufficient accuracy.

The values of void index difference, ? Ivy can be used to find the effect of the enhanced resistance to compression of natural soil structure. If ? Ivy value is high, there will be high maximum value of compression index after destroying the resistance of soil structure caused by the aging effect. The proposed compression index ratio, r"™ obtained from the Iv-log p relationship can be considered as a useful index to represent the aging effect.

A Noval Design for Petrol & Diesel Filling and Billing System

Presently the fuel stations are manually operated. In this paper we are going to present a noval design for petrol and diesel filling system which can be automatically deduct the amount of petrol distributed from customer voucher card. In this proposed design all vehicle drivers would have a voucher card with a specific customer ID, which can be purchased by some recharge points. The customer requiring petroldiesel enter customer id and after verification enters required quantity.

The electrical pump is turned on if nozzle is inside the petrol tank and after filling tank it automatically turned off. This system has nozzle sensor to detect the nozzle inside tank and the system keeps electrical pump OFF in any case nozzle is out of tank. The proposed system will also have fuel sensor to make electrical pump off, if tank is full and entered petrol quantity is more than tank capacity.

A Secure on Demand Routing Protocol

The flexibility and mobility of Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs) have made them increasingly popular in a wide range of use cases. To protect these networks, security protocols have been developed to protect routing and application data. However, these protocols only protect routes or communication, not both. Both secure routing and communication security protocols must be implemented to provide full protection.

The use of communication security protocols originally developed for wire line and Wi-Fi networks can also place a heavy burden on the limited network resources of a MANET. MA-NETs are dynamic, self-arranging, and foundation less gatherings of cell phones. They are normally made for a particular reason. Every gadget inside a MA-NET is known as a hub and must play the part of a customer and a switch. To address these issues, a novel secure framework is proposed. The framework is designed to allow existing network and routing protocols to perform their functions, whilst providing node authentication, access control, and communication security mechanisms.

Energy Aware Multipath Routing Scheme in Ad Hoc Network Using Fitness Function

Mobile ad hoc network is a group of wireless mobile nodes that dynamically form a short-term network without the reliance of any infrastructure or central administration. Energy consumption is considered as one of the major constraints in MANET, as the mobile links do not possess permanent power supply and have to rely on batteries, thus reducing network lifetime as batteries get exhausted very quickly as links move and change their positions rapidly across MANET.

The proposed protocol is called AOMDV with the fitness function (FF-AOMDV). The fitness function is used to find the optimal path from source node to destination node to reduce the energy consumption in multipath routing. The performance of the proposed FF-AOMDV protocol has been evaluated by using network simulator version 2, where the performance was compared with AOMDV and ad hoc on demand multipath routing with life maximization (AOMR-LM) protocols, the two most popular protocols proposed in this area.

The comparison was evaluated based on energy consumption, throughput, packet delivery ratio, end-to-end delay, network lifetime and routing overhead ratio performance metrics, varying the node speed, packet size, and simulation time. The results clearly demonstrate that the proposed FF-AOMDV outperformed AOMDV and AOMR-LM under majority of the network performance metrics and parameters.

Liquid Flow Control by Using Fuzzy Logic Controller

Flow measurement and control are essential in plant process control. The fuzzy logic method is very useful for such problem solving approach such as hydro power generation. In this paper, rule base and membership function based on fuzzy logic is proposed for reservoir control of dam. The rule base and membership functions have a great influence on the performance and efficiency of the plant and also to optimize the hydro power generation in the high altitude region.

In this paper, the liquid level in tank and MATLAB is used to design a Fuzzy Control. The control of liquid level and flow between tanks is a basic problem in the process industries. This research used "Fuzzy Method" and "Mamdani Inference Method" to evaluate using manual "C.O.G Defuzzification" and MATLAB FIS editor validation.

The purpose of this system is to design a simulation system of fuzzy logic controller for liquid level control by using simulation package which is Fuzzy Logic Toolbox and Simulink in MATLAB software. In this design two input parameters: water level and flow rate and two output parameters: release control valve and drain valve are used.

Design and Implementation of Smart Trolley for Automatic Billing System

Now-a-day shopping in supermarket and mall is increasing rapidly. While shopping, customers have to face some difficulties. First, they go at the billing counter for payments their total expenditure but there are many people standing in queue for billing purpose. This is unnecessary waste time for customer because cashier scans each item bought with barcode. Barcode technology is time consuming process. Second, customers can"™t predict their total expenditure so, overall purchase total is greater than their budged.

Thus, the proposed system overcomes all of these drawbacks faced by customers in shopping malls. To reduce customer' waste time, the system uses RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology. The proposed system will be implemented into two parts. First part is the customer side which initialize arduino for the set ups of RFID reader and zigbee.

In this part, contains the tag detection of products by RFID reader which are placed in the trolley and sending of product information from trolley to central billing unit through zigbee transmitter. Second part is counter side which contain zigbee receiver is connected to billing PC using serial communication. It receives billing data and gives it to the PC by using Visual Basic 6.0 software and maintains daily record by Microsoft Access database system.

Performance Analysis of V-Blast Spatial Multiplexing with Ml and MMSE Equalisation Techniques using Psk Modulation

Now a day wireless technologies face the challenges of multipath signal fading, attenuation and phase delay which led to the interference between users and there is the possibility of limited spectrum. Linear and Non-Linear receiver is used to combat the effect of multipath signal fading and delay. The wireless communication system employs the application of multiple antennas at both transmitter and receiver to improve data rates through multiplexing techniques.

In this paper, we analysis of V-BLAST spatial multiplexing technique with equalisation techniques like ML, MMSE with PSK techniques in communication channel Rayleigh flat fading. The simulation results find out through the Mat lab R2013a Simulink block.

Obstacle Identification on Railway Tracks

We propose a method for detecting obstacles by comparing input and reference train frontal view camera images. In the field of obstacle detection, most methods employ a machine learning approach, so they can only detect pre-trained classes, such as pedestrian, bicycle, etc. Those obstacles of unknown classes cannot be detected. To overcome this problem, a background subtraction method was proposed that can be applied to moving cameras.

First, the proposed method computes frame-by-frame correspondences between the current and the reference image sequences. Then, obstacles are detected by applying image subtraction to corresponding frames. To confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method, we conducted an experiment using several image sequences captured on an experimental track. Its results showed that the proposed method could detect various obstacles accurately and effectively.

Color and Height Control of Fluid Mixing System Using Fuzzy Logic

This paper presents a qualitative control of a fluid mixer, which is a non-linear plant. The mixer has as inputs two fluids of the resulting mix. The control system consists of two independent fuzzy controllers which are responsible for maintaining the water level at a given height and for adjusting the color of the fluid in the mixing tank. The main points studied are response when the desired color is changed and when the output flow changes.

Simulation results show that approach of using two independent controllers, with simple rule-bases, can give good results. The simulation of fuzzy logic controller for a fluid mixing system using MAT LAB Simulink and MAT LAB Fuzzy Logic Toolbox. The Centroid (MAMDANI) method and center of gravity singleton method for defuzzification will be used in the inference engines.

Zigbee Based Smart Farm Data Logging and Monitoring System

An agricultural environment monitoring system provides monitoring services and facility controlling services. This system maintains the crop growth rate in an optimal status. This system also reduces the manpower, time consumption and improves the convenience. The existing monitoring systems are used in indoor only or short distance wireless communication technology (Wi-Fi) from sensor nodes to remote center.

In addition, the users want to reduce the cost for checking the monitored information in Local Area Network of Smart Farm campus without using the internet access. In order to solve these issues, the agricultural monitoring system must be designed such a way that can monitor environmental information and soil information closely and reports the status to remote location in LAN.

The main object of this research is to investigate the development of a low cost remote soil moisture monitoring system by deploying sensors, which can be used in a Zigbee mesh network. This sensors node send data via Zigbee transmitter wirelessly to a Zigbee receiver connected with main computer, which collects the data, stores it and will allow it to be analyzed. This data can be displayed as needed using GUI in VBA and can also be monitored by the clients in LAN.

Study the Effect of Using Subordinate Grass Ash on Mechanical Properties in Fabrication of Ceramics

Ceramics have been used since the earliest civilization. The field of ceramic materials has its roots in more traditional aspects of the subject like clay based ceramics and glasses. Ceramics are defined as solid compounds that are formed by the application of heat and sometimes heat and pressure. It has been defined ceramics as, "the art and science of making and using solid articles, which have as their essential component, and are composed in large part of, inorganic nonmetallic materials.
Sub-ordinate grass ash is consider for manufacture of ceramics since it has rich silica content and easily available in cheaper cost. Ceramics are developed by using poly-vinyl alcohol as binder in composition of silica, the composition is heated at temperature of 1000deg-c at 3hours, the samples are prepared by varying composition of silica. The newly developed ceramics samples are exhibit better mechanical characteristics like compressive, flexural strengths.
