Assessing the Monthly Variation of Reference Evapotranspiration of Nsukka, Enugu State, Nigeria

The application of suitable water quantity to the crops in irrigation farming is very important for effective crop yields as less or more than the required quantity of water when applied will affect the crop output negatively. The objective of this work was to determine the monthly reference Evapotranspiration of Nsukka, Enugu state of Nigeria, as well as how its variation is affected by temperature change. This work made use of Hargreaves-Samani model of evapotranspiration prediction, using the data of minimum and maximum temperature obtained from NASA's earthdata database.

It was shown from the results that highest evapotranspirationoccured in February, and lowest occurred in July. It was further observed that reference Evapotranspiration of the study area has a positive correlation coefficient of 0.9927 with the maximum temperature and a negative correlation coefficient of -0.1879 with the minimum temperature. Conclusively, it was stated that reference evapotranspiration was higher in the study area in dry season than in rainy season, and that it was directly proportional to the maximum temperature and inversely to the minimum temperature.

Assessing the Effects of Temperature and Relative Humidity on the Signal Strength of We FM Abuja, Nigeria During Harmattan Period

The effect of temperature and relative humidity on WE FM radio station (106.3MHz) Abuja, Nigeria, during Harmattan period was carried out with the measurement of frequency modulation (FM) signal strength by digital CATV signal meter and the temperature and relative humidity measured by digital Hygrometer/thermometer. It was observed that the signal strength was lower during the sunny period but higher in the morning and evening when there was little or no sun.

It was also found out that both temperature and relative humidity have effect on the radio station signal strength with the correlation coefficient of -0.79 between signal strength and temperature, and 0.91 between signal strength and relative humidity. It was concluded from the correlation coefficient that signal strength is directly proportional to the relative humidity but inversely proportional to the temperature, but the effect of both was higher in harmattan than in rainy season when compared to our the result of our previous work on the same radio station.

Voice controlled notice board using bluetooth module

Main concept behind Voice operated Electronic notice board using display is to show messages and to control them by using our own voice. We have already seen GSM based Electronic Notice board, however speech controlled Notice board has additional advantage of ease of use. User has to give voice command in his/her own voice to control the messages displayed on electronic notice board. Voice recognition is done in the Android application. User has to install this Android application in his/her smart phone or tablet.

Bluetooth wireless technology is a popular technique in the field communication, and it is one of the fastest growing fields in the wireless technologies. Bluetooth technology handles the wireless part of the communication channel; it is used in this system to transmit and receive data wirelessly between devices. User needs to install this application. A computer system used for this purpose is called a speech synthesizer, and can be implemented in software or hardware products. An inbuilt Google voice recognition app is used in this system.

Hot Spot Temperature Analysis of Transformer using FEM on COMSOL

The transformers are static bits of mechanical assembly with at least two windings, which by electromagnetic enlistment; change an arrangement of substituting voltage and current into another arrangement of voltage and current for the most part of various esteems and at same recurrence for transmitting electrical power. In a transformer task, a piece of the electrical vitality is changed over into the warmth. That is the reason the exact estimation of temperatures in basic focuses is of down to earth intrigue. Problem area temperature (HST) esteem is a noteworthy factor that straightforwardly influences the task of transformers [1].

A Literature Review on the Effect of Nanoparticles in Refrigeration System

According the protocols devised to curtain the environmental pollution as well as to maintain eco-friendly surroundings and to improve the thermo physical properties of the refrigeration system, it is very important to look for energy efficient and safe refrigerants so as to improve the effect of refrigeration and co-efficient of performance. Nanoparticles and Nano fluids have grabbed the attention of present scenario with its enhanced properties and its potential applications like high heat transfer rates as well as better thermo physical characteristics. This is a study attempted to bring out some of the important woks done in the field of Nano refrigerants as well as Nano lubricants.

This work also encapsules some of the works done using nanoparticles in the refrigeration system so as to study its effect on the process variables of the refrigeration system. Thus it is evident that Nano refrigerants have great capability of increasing heat transfer rates as well as performances of refrigeration system and has significant effect on other thermo physical properties as well as various other variables pertaining to refrigeration system

Analysis of Hardware Security to Prevent the Scan Based Attacks by using Sticky Counter

Security of integrated circuits (ICs) has emerged as a major concern at different stages of IC life-cycle, spanning design, test, fabrication and deployment. Modern ICs are becoming increasingly vulnerable to various forms of security threats, such as: 1) illegaluse of hardware intellectual property (IP) \IP Piracy. 2) Illegal manufacturing of IC\ IC Piracy. Designing of confidential ICs must satisfy many design rules in order to rectify the various attacks and to protect the secret data. Based on the concept of withholding information, on-chip comparisons for actual and expected response.

Obfuscation method to prevent the piracy overbuilding and reverse engineering RE. But no security against scan based attackers. This practical logic obfuscation applicable for combinational circuits and will not protect the scan attacks. In order overcome this drawback the recent works on hardware security to prevent piracy. From the security point of view, few limitations of existing method limit the security level.

Some countermeasures have been proposed in order to secure the scan technique and on-chip comparison. This method can be applicable for both sequential, combinational circuits. This proposed method can be applied for all scan testing. We implement the project using Xilinx ISE tool for Simulation and synthesis and the code is written in Verilog HDL.
