Design of Tall Structures under Low SBC

The present situation of the country aims to construction tall building in a pollution free areas and also sociable environment, people focusing on a rural areas to be urbanized as all the offices and business places are developed nearby so, with this concern the rural areas observed to be having Low SBC and it’s a challenge for the structural engineers who aim to have pile foundation and other suitable foundations to make the structures stable. This terminology shows that the tall buildings using these methods are structurally well built and durable to resist the lateral loads such as seismic, wind, etc. Indian cities are observing enormous development due to construction of multinational companies in rural areas aiming for pollution and environmental free campuses leading urban trend and housing demand etc. considering economy of a project, I have been focused on a 10 floors commercial project on a low SBC and carried out with Etabs software on Pile, raft foundation and different environment conditions on earthquake parameters. The title named “Design of Tall Structures under Low SBC”.

Effect of Waste Fly Ash and Rice Husk Ash on Residual Soils

In developing countries like India, due to remarkable development in road infrastructure, soil stabilization has become major issue in constructional activity, stabilization is not only a method of altering or modifying of one or more soil properties to improve the engineering. Characteristics and performance of a soil, but also processing available materials for the production of low –cost design and constructionBlack cotton soils which expand when moisture content of soils is increased the clay mineral Montomorillonite is main responsible for expansive characteristics of soil. the expansive soils called swelling of soils or black cotton soils a large part of south India is covered with expansive soil another problem with this soil is strength is decreases with increases of degree of saturation heavy damages may occur buildings roads runways pipe lines and other structures built on such soils if proper preventive measures are not method. The damages can be prevented to a large extent if characteristics of expansive soil properly assessed suitable measures taken in design construction and maintenance of structures built on soils. This presents experimental investigation to study the effect of Rice husk ash and Fly ash on swelling and shrinkage and mechanical properties of a soil. After finding out the experimental results in lab to know the evaluation and performance of RHA and FA ash on the black cotton soil in the laboratory. Black cotton soil and FA and RHA has prepared by varying of different proportions with respect to dry the density.

Effect on Compressive Strength of Concrete by using Agricultural Waste with Partial Replacement of Cement

Portland cement as ingredient in concrete is one of the fundamental development materials generally utilized particularly in creating nations. The expanding interest for concrete is relied upon to be met by fractional bond substitution. The look for elective fastener or concrete substitution materials prompted the disclosure of possibilities of utilizing modern side effects and farming squanders as cementitious materials. A portion of the waste items which have pozzolanic properties and which have been considered for use in mixed bonds incorporate wood fiery debris, fly powder, Silica smolder, Volcanic cinder, copper slag, quarry dust, Rice husk cinder . It is a waste material coming about because of the mechanical processing or preparing of timber into different shapes and sizes. The issues of profitability, economy, quality and condition, they need to rival other development materials. In this investigation three sorts of squanders materials wood ash, sugar cane bagase ash and rice husk ash and ordinary aggregate were utilized for preparing cube specimens. There are M25 grade of blended extent are use. Squander materials are use in concrete with the substitution bond of 4 , 8 , 12 and 16 . These beams, cylinder and cube are tries on 7, 14, and 28 days. The compressive quality, flexural quality, and tensile strength are determined with the help of UTM and CTM machine.

Application of Biofuels in Diesel Engine A Review

A trial program looking at execution of different types of renewable fuels in the internal combustion engine running on a variety of biofuels, including recreated biogas and biodiesel fueled engine was investigated by many researchers. There are different types of IC engine are available and among those diesel engines is most preferred for transportation point of view. Further, the engine can be single cylinder, multi cylinder and run on alternative fuels. The other parameters which affects the engine performance are how much load is applied. We know that fossil fuel is about to end. These engines are designed in such a manner that they can be operated with the use of fossil fuel only. In this regard we need to find some alternative fuel and we need to also modify the engine as per alternative fuel. In this review article we have reviewed different renewable fuel for IC engine application. In comparative study it was noticed that engine run on biofuels produce less thermal efficiency, more fuel consumption and produces less CO, HC and smoke opacity.

Analysis of Ferrocement Jacketing on Retrofitted Beams

Almost all the structures whether or not or not industrial, business or housing area unit fabricated from RCC. There structure fare nicely to a lower place ancient circumstances, but among the event of maximum earthquakes, giant load imposition etc. The permanent injury may takes place in structure. It poses a more durable scenario for a structural engineer than constructing a replacement building. This could be as a result of form of restraints associate already created building offers like non designed construction, wear and tear etc. instead of torning apart the structure one can strengthen the deficient structural elements of the structure. As a result of the advancement in technology with the help of non destructive testing one can merely verify such deficient elements. Once known the only reply is to retrofit such elements. Retrofitting is completely completely different from repair or rehabilitation. Its primarily a way of strengthening Associate in Nursingd sweetening of the performance of deficient structural elements in an extremely structure or as complete structure. In deficient buildings retrofitting could also be done by increasing the strength, stiffness and or malleability of its specific constituent elements or of the whole building. For any building, relying upon the need, a mixture of the on prime of could also be elite. Retrofitting of individual members or elements is remarked as native retrofitting. Someone is not once it involves spoilt for alternatives retrofitting, he possesses to detain mind form of selections before embarking on the work of retrofitting. The alternatives on the market embrace fiber bolstered Plastic or GFRP, Carbon Fibre bolstered Plastic or CFRP or Ferrocement. He has to keep up a balance between handiness, aesthetic, significantly economy and simple operational. Ferrocement jacketing though lacks among the esthetic 0.5 but it wins by leaps and bounds altogether different problems. The reason for this could be its readily on the market, is easy to work with and is not even ¼ as costly as GFRP or CFRP.The endeavour of our gift study is to observe the impact of varied share of tensile reinforcements on the behaviour of beams retrofit with ferrocement jacketing. The impact of share increase in tensile reinforcement vice versa the share increase in final load carrying capability is calclulated. Combined deflections of retrofitted and non retrofitted beams area unit compared at altogether completely different stress levels. The results shows an increase in load carrying capability of retrofit beams though the increase varies with share of tensile reinforcements. The share increase in load carrying capability is most simply just in case of two bars of eight metric linear unit us intelligence as tensile reinforcement. The deflections conjointly diminished considerably with the increase in share of tensile reinforcement.
