Numerical Analysis of Corrugated Type Heat Exchanger with Variation in Corrugation Angle

Heat transfer is one of the main concerns in industries. Corrugated type heat exchangers are one of the best options available for heat transfer in less space. Many researchers have worked for corrugated plate heat exchanger with configuration corrugation angle of 30°. In the present work, corrugated plate heat exchanger with 30° corrugation angle has been modeled and results have been compared with that of the base paper. Further the corrugation angle has been changed to 45°. The boundary conditions have been kept same as that for 30°. Heat transfer rate, Nusselt number, Reynolds number, Friction factor, Paclet number and their variation have been found out for the new geometry. Graphical plots, variation in temperature and water velocity streamlines have also been found out.

Heat Transfer Characteristics of a Plate Fin Heat Sink with Pin Fins of Various Profile using CFD

In recent decades, attempts have been made to create more advanced effective cooling technology for electronic and microelectronic devices, but heat dissipation is still a major challenge for increasing the cooling performance of heat sinks in a highly competitive electronics market. In the present analysis, the research is designing a new thermal design for plate fin heat sinks with hexagonal pin fin connected to the plate fins. A theoretical analysis focused on publicly usable computational fluid dynamics CFD codes has been performed to test the thermal efficiency of the proposed designs. Modelling done using ANSYS 14.5 and meshing has done using ICEM CFD software, simulations has done by using CFD FLUENT software. In specific, in terms of their thermal performance, hexagonal pin fin connected to the plate fins subject to flow have been contrasted. The plate fin heat sink was made of Aluminium and an electrical heaters provide a heat of 10W constantly to warm up a plate plate fin heat sink with hexagonal pin fin subject to flow of air at variable values i.e. 6.5, 9.5, and 2.5 m s .Based on the results, the analysis has shown that the plate fin heat sinks demonstrate superior thermal performance with hexagonal 3 pin fin subject to flow. The Nusselt number is approximately 1.32 times higher than the conventional plate fin heat sink without pin fin and 1.13 times higher than plate fin heat sink with elliptical 3 pin fin.

Performance and Emissions Characteristics of an Automotive Diesel Engine Fueled with Petroleum Based Fuel from Plastic Pyrolysis Oil and its Diesel Blends

An interesting alternative fuel for Diesel Engines in the form of liquid oil derived from waste plastics, to solve the problem arises from the depletion of fossil fuels and disposal problem of the very large amount of plastic wastes produced from households and industrials. This present paper describes the production and testing of Liquid fuel derived from waste plastics by the pyrolysis process at different proportions 10 , 20 , and 30 . The fuel produced is then tested in a fully instrumented diesel engine, without any engine modifications. The chemical properties such as GCMS, and FTIR results of the oil derived from waste plastics, compared with the diesel fuel, and found that it has similar properties to that of diesel fuel. The experimental investigation on the pyrolysis oil with diesel blends shows a notable increase in engine performance and a significant reduction in emission characteristics while compared with commercial diesel fuels. Thus, the results specify that modified plastic pyrolysis oil can be considered for an alternative fuel to diesel engines with better performance and reduce emission.

Heat Transfer Enhancement of Plate Fin Heat Sinks – A Review

Heat sinks have been commonly used for cool electrical, electronic and automotive parts in many industrial applications. They are effective in extracting heat at high temperatures from surfaces. The reliability of such systems depends on the temperature of their operation. Heat sinks are important components of most of these devices thermal management systems, such as diodes, thyristor, high power semiconductor devices such as integrated inverter circuits, audio amplifiers, microprocessors or microcontrollers. This paper highlights the use of heat sinks in electronic cooling applications, and discusses relevant literature to enhance the heat transfer efficiency of plate fin heat sinks by modifying the surface, interrupting the boundary layer and shifting the path.

Strength and Behavior of Concrete by Partial Replacement of Fine Aggregate with Recycled Plastic

In light of fast improvement of people in countries like India the disposing of Solid waste is a huge issue in our step by step life. Different waste materials are created from gathering measures, organization organizations and common solid wastes. The growing care about nature has colossally added to the concerns related with expulsion of the made wastes. Solid waste organization is one of the significant normal concerns on the planet. With the deficiency of space for land filling and on account of its ever extending cost, waste use has gotten an appealing choice as opposed to expulsion. Among the waste material, plastic is the material that is the noteworthy concern to by far most of the regular effects. Investigation is being finished on the utilization of waste plastic things in concrete. The usage of waste things in solid makes it judicious, yet moreover helps in lessening expulsion issues. The progression of new improvement materials using reused plastics is basic to both the turn of events and the plastic reusing ventures. Reuse of waste and reused plastic materials in strong mix as a natural neighborly improvement material has pulled in light of experts progressing events, and endless assessments uncovering the direct of concrete containing waste and reused plastic materials have been dispersed. This paper summarizes a comprehensive review on the assessment articles on the use of reused plastics in solid reliant on whether they oversaw concrete containing plastic aggregates or plastic fibers. Additionally, the morphology of concrete containing plastic materials is to explain the effect of plastic aggregates and plastic fibers on the properties of concrete. The properties of concretes containing virgin plastic materials were moreover investigated to develop their similarities and differences with concrete containing reused plastics. Strong shape, chamber and column were casted taking 0 to 40 of plastic as midway replacement of fine aggregate and went after for 28days of compressive quality, flexural quality and split flexibility of concrete.

Analysis and Design of a Multistory Reinforced Concrete Frame in Different Seismic Zone

This study work focuses on the analysis of a structural system of a basic framework to decide the distortions and correlation of steel amount of seismic zones. In this examination, we have taken G 12 multi celebrated RC second opposing surrounded structure working with the shear divider by investigating the structure for gravity load, wind load and seismic burdens for various urban areas. By selecting four distinct urban communities based on seismic zones zone II, zone III, zone IV and zone V and furthermore thinking about that the fundamental breeze speed. We have predominantly center around the basic framework to decide the distortions and furthermore powers instigated by applied loads or ground excitation is a basic advance in the plan of a structure to oppose seismic tremor. The examination and plan for all the urban areas are completed utilizing STAAD Pro and STAAD Foundation programming which are industry standard programming the world over. The breeze safe structure is done according to IS 875 Part 3 1987 and the tremor safe plan is done according to IS 1893 Part 1 2002. Investigation and structure of bars, segments and shear divider have been done in STAAD Pro and the establishment is done in STAAD Foundation. We have additionally checked the structure of certain shafts, sections, and footings physically and find right. Structure of RCC chunks is completed physically for which an exceed expectations sheet is produced for working out second coefficients for various edge conditions according to IS code. In this investigation work, we plan and examine a strengthened solid casing structure in different seismic zones and we watching the variety in the conduct of the structure in various loading conditions.

MATLAB Implementation of Polar Codes for 5G Systems

Channel Coding for the 5G wireless networks is facing novel challenges. Turbo and LDPC code doesn’t meet the requirements of 5G usage scenarios. Thus polar code are evolved. Different decoding approaches are used, such as SC, SCL at the receiver end of the digital communication system. Depending on the nature of the communication system appropriate decoding procedure is used. The performance of these decoding strategies is analysed by plotting BER v s SNR graphs. For this purpose MATLAB is used which gives better results and computations.
