Analysis and Design of a Multistory Reinforced Concrete Frame in Different Seismic Zone

This study work focuses on the analysis of a structural system of a basic framework to decide the distortions and correlation of steel amount of seismic zones. In this examination, we have taken G 12 multi celebrated RC second opposing surrounded structure working with the shear divider by investigating the structure for gravity load, wind load and seismic burdens for various urban areas. By selecting four distinct urban communities based on seismic zones zone II, zone III, zone IV and zone V and furthermore thinking about that the fundamental breeze speed. We have predominantly center around the basic framework to decide the distortions and furthermore powers instigated by applied loads or ground excitation is a basic advance in the plan of a structure to oppose seismic tremor. The examination and plan for all the urban areas are completed utilizing STAAD Pro and STAAD Foundation programming which are industry standard programming the world over. The breeze safe structure is done according to IS 875 Part 3 1987 and the tremor safe plan is done according to IS 1893 Part 1 2002. Investigation and structure of bars, segments and shear divider have been done in STAAD Pro and the establishment is done in STAAD Foundation. We have additionally checked the structure of certain shafts, sections, and footings physically and find right. Structure of RCC chunks is completed physically for which an exceed expectations sheet is produced for working out second coefficients for various edge conditions according to IS code. In this investigation work, we plan and examine a strengthened solid casing structure in different seismic zones and we watching the variety in the conduct of the structure in various loading conditions.

MATLAB Implementation of Polar Codes for 5G Systems

Channel Coding for the 5G wireless networks is facing novel challenges. Turbo and LDPC code doesn’t meet the requirements of 5G usage scenarios. Thus polar code are evolved. Different decoding approaches are used, such as SC, SCL at the receiver end of the digital communication system. Depending on the nature of the communication system appropriate decoding procedure is used. The performance of these decoding strategies is analysed by plotting BER v s SNR graphs. For this purpose MATLAB is used which gives better results and computations.

3D Body Scanning for Human Anthropometry

In the fields of sports and health sciences, changes in body shape are one of the most important parameters in order to evaluate the effects of physical training or routine workout performed. Until now, these parameters were typically measured under manually skilled techniques in anthropometry. The purposes of present study were to develop 3D anthropometry and to determine feasibility of the measurements such as lengths, circumferences, body surface area BSA and body or segment volumes with comparing to other conventional methods. The colour information was used to detect the position of land mark seals which was pasted on the skin according to the anatomical basis in human anthropometry. Anthropometric data as well as body surface area and body volume measured by using 3D body scanning technologies might be widely prospective for evaluating the differences or changes in body shape in such fields as health and sports sciences.

A Basic Review on Pressure Vessels

A pressure vessel is a container which holds gases or liquids at a pressure higher than the ambient pressure. They are used to store fluids under pressure. A vessel that is improperly designed to handle a high pressure leads to very significant safety hazard. Because of safety features, the design and certification of pressure vessels is governed by design codes. Example ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, the Pressure Equipment Directive of the EU PED , Japanese Industrial Standard JIS , CSA B51 in Canada, Stoomwezen etc. In the present paper, work done by various researchers across the globe has been summarized. It can be concluded that with the help of CFD designing of pressure vessels can be very easily done.

A Research on the Behaviour of Concrete by Partially Replacement of Cement with Sugarcane Bagasse

We are well aware that the production of cement does a lot of harm to the environment. It includes tons of similar carbon emissions from other chemicals. Research has shown that every ton of cement output releases half a ton of carbon dioxide, so the need to regulate the use of cement is immediate. For example, Sugar Cane Bagasse Ash is hard to arrange on the hand materials squanders which is consequently ecological danger. The Bagasse debris gives concrete strong early cohesion, and also decreases cement porousness. During hydration, the silica present in the Bagasse debris reacts with concrete segments and gives extra properties such as chloride opposition, erosion obstruction and so on. Using Bagasse debris in concrete thus decreases the ecological pollution as well as improves the properties of cement and thus decreases the quality. This undertaking manages for the most part to substitute concrete with Bagasse debris in defined degree and to test the mixed cement on SCBA. The solid blend formed by fluctuating the Bagasse debris differential extent at 0 percent, 10 percent, 15 percent, 20 percent, 30 , 40 percent. The test result shows that the consistency of solid increases up to 10 per cent Sugar stick bagasse debris with concrete supplanting.

Enumeration of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems for Pneumatic Actuated Knife Gate Valves with Fail Safe Systems

Any flow line has a specific intent. As a result of accurate input of various parameters like flow rate, flow temperature and so on, the intended chemical reactions or other output actions can be carried out successfully. Energy is a basic requirement to initiate, sustain and conclude a flow. This energy can be in various forms and it is a system requirement to supply continuous energy to ensure energy conversion with minimum entropy change. While planning a project, these considerations need greater attention as a part of risk assessment considering unlikely events like failure of electrical power or any other source of energy. This paves way to design of systems considering fail safe conditions. Supervisory control and data acquisition systems can add an additional dimension to the effectiveness of these systems. This paper intends to highlight enumeration of Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition system for various fail safe systems considering various conditions. A number of possibilities emerging from the three types of failures namely electric current, air supply and a combination of both have been considered to satisfy the three fail safe conditions of fail to open, fail to close and fail to stay put. A conclusion shall be drawn thereafter to get a generalized idea of the design of Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition systems for fail safe systems.

Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems for Pneumatic and Electrical Actuated Knife Gate Valves

Automation in all fields is picking up pace due to its inherent ability to complete a given piece of work much quickly and efficiently as compared to manual work which although skilled, requires greater lead time and may lead to reduction in productivity. Industries which are mainly concerned with energy conversion are obsessed with the maximum utilization of the exergy to get the most efficient outputs. Technological advancement in the field of mechatronics and microprocessors has led to continuous up gradation in the systems that govern and control such applications. Valves are an integral part of any flow system. In order to have a wider control over operations of large energy conversion units, supervisory control and data acquisition systems are employed. This paper shall consider scope of the same for applications employing actuated Knife Gate Valves. The actuation considered shall be pneumatic type which generally comprises of a double acting pneumatic cylinder. Considerations for controls and data acquisition shall be done for pneumatic circuit accessories like solenoid operated direction control valves of various types, limit switches, proximity switches and electro pneumatic positioners with an initial explanation of role and working of each. A conclusion shall be drawn thereafter regarding the employability of knife gate valves with supervisory control and data acquisition systems.
