A Research onto Study the Properties of Concrete with Partial Replacement of Aggregates by Plastic Aggregates

Plastic waste management is the main environmental issues in our country. The present study applies to the usage of recycled plastics as an alternative for aggregates in concrete. The motive of the study is to investigate the alteration in the physical qualities of concrete by the use of waste of plastics in concrete. The utilization of plastic aggregates was discovered to lead to the development of sturdy concrete. Additionally, with the plastics, the tensile and compressive strength of the concrete reduces. The foremost change brought approximately by using plastics is the fact that concrete’s thermal conductivity is decreased due to the utilization of plastics. It is able to thus be declared recycled plastics are usually utilized for thermal insulation of structures.Series of experiments had been performed in this current study for a comparison of the usage of Used Plastic as a replacement of sand in various different proportions. The main conclusions drawn was that the compressive strength increases with the inclusion of Used Plastic upto a certain proportions and then reduces the strength.

Damage and Loss Assessment of a Midrise RC Building in Downtown Area of Yangon Region

Yangon is an earthquake prone region and most of the low rise to mid rise residential reinforced concrete buildings are designed for gravity loads only. Therefore, evaluation of seismic vulnerability of buildings is essential in order to predict the probable damages and losses to this type of buildings. Damage assessment and earthquake loss estimation for gravity only design buildings should be performed to predict the damage probabilities and losses under the earthquake loading. In this study, seismic design and gravity design are accomplished for a five story residential RC building. Nonlinear static pushover analysis is performed using SAP 2000 software and capacity curves and fragility curves are developed for both designs. Damage probability matrices DPM are formed for design basic earthquake DBE level and maximum considered earthquake MCE level and the damage states are compared. The expected annual loss of the both designs are evaluated by means of the fragility curves and seismic hazard curve. Expected annual loss EAL values are also estimated and compared for both designs for 475 years and 2475 years periods.

Determination of Local Site Effects in Taikkyi Area, Yangon Region by using Microtremor Observations

Considering the possible local site effect is one of the most important facts in seismic hazard assessment. Depending on the local site condition, the characteristics of the seismic waves propagated through different geological layers and amplified the surface ground motion. In this study, one of the geophysical method of microtremor observations were carried out at 112 sites throughout the Taikkyi area. After analyzing the recorded microtremor observed data by Cygwin Software, we determined the horizontal to vertical spectral ratio HVRs that reflects the local site effects of the study area. The main outcomes of this research is to develop the fundamental frequency map and peak amplitude or soil amplification map of Taikkyi area. According to the evaluation results, the fundamental frequency is ranging from 1 to 2.3 Hz and most parts of Taikkyi area show in the range of 1.3 to 1.6 Hz. The peak amplitude of HVRs potential soil amplification is ranging from 1.5 to 3.6 and most parts of the area are in the range of 1.5 to 2.5.

Site Characterization and Seismic Site Response Study for Bagan Area

Bagan, the cultural heritage city of Myanmar located in the Mandalay region, which is very close to the active Sagaing fault. Most of Bagan’s cultural heritage monuments have been damaged due to earthquakes. Therefore, seismic response analysis is needed to evaluate site response characteristics for retrofitting and preservation of the historical monuments in Bagan. Site response studies require the characterization of subsurface materials considering local subsurface profiles of the site. The main target of the present study is site characterization and the estimation of seismic site response for the Bagan monument area. For this purpose, a geophysical survey such as microtremors was carried out to determine the variation of soil profile as well as the characteristics of the soil layers within the study site. Shear wave velocities at the study sites were estimated through the inversion of microtremors H V spectrum. The sites were categorized based on the average shear wave velocity of the overburden soil above the bedrock as Class ‘D’ Stiff Soil Profile and Class ‘C’ Very Dense Soil and Soft Rock . Equivalent linear site response analysis of layered soil deposits was carried out using DEEPSOIL software which determines peak ground acceleration PGA and response spectrum. The maximum surface PGA was found 0.24g and the maximum acceleration of surface motion is 1.13g at a period of 0.14s.

Modulation of Neural Cross Frequency Coupling analysis in VLSI Architecture

Cross frequency coupling CFC is a key mechanism in neuronal computation, communication, and learning in the brain. Abnormal CFC has been implicated in pathological brain states such as epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease. A reduction in excessive coupling has been shown ineffective neuromodulation treatments, suggesting that CFC may be a useful feedback measure in closed loop neural stimulation devices. However, processing latency limits the responsiveness of such systems. VLSI architecture is presented which implements the phase locking value of CFC to enable the application specific trade off between low latency and high accuracy processing.

Seismic Analysis of Framed R.C. Structure with Base Isolation Technique using E Tabs

A Natural Calamity like an earthquake has taken a million lives throughout in our past. The force induced due to earthquake is dangerous and last for short duration of time. There are various techniques that can be used resist the force of an earthquake such as base isolation, bracing etc. The principle of base isolation is to isolate the structure from the motion of an earthquake and protect the structure and also reduce the force being transmitted to the building due to earthquake. For this study, G 13 storied R.C. frame building is considered and time history analysis is carried out using E Tabs 2017 software, and also study investigates structural behavior of multi story building with or without base isolation subjected earthquake ground motion. The Lead Rubber Bearing LRB is designed as per UBC 97 code and the same was used for the analysis of base isolation system. Here we shall studying earthquake resistivity of structure by analyzing the base isolation structure to compare its structural performance with fixed base isolation.

Gold Price Prediction using Machine Learning

Historically, among other payment forms, gold has been used to fund trading purchases around the globe. Several states have retained and increasing their gold deposits, and have been known as democratic and prosperous nations. Actually, precious metals such as gold are kept by central banks in all countries to guarantee external debt servicing, and even to manage inflation. Furthermore it also reflects the countrys financial strength. In addition to government departments, numerous international companies and individuals have participated in gold reserves. In addition to the commoditys demand and supply on the market, the performance of the worlds leading economies also greatly influences gold rates. This rise in gold value coupled with volatility and falling prices from other markets such as capital markets and real estate markets has attracted more and more investors to gold as an attractive investment. Although there is still strong uncertainty of the late gold market, and transactions in gold are getting more dangerous. Theres a fear that those high prices will be sustainable and that the prices will reverse. Although there are a number of studies that analyze the correlation between the gold price and certain economic variables. Machine learning was often applied to predicting financial variables, but usually focused on predicting stocks rather than commodities. In this study, we proposed the development of forecasting model for predicting future gold price using Linear Regression LR
