Project Planning and Scheduling

Large Planning is a general term that sets a clear road map that should be followed to reach a destination. The term, therefore, has been used at different levels to mean different things. Planning involves the breakdown of the project into definable, measurable, and identifiable tasks activities, and then establishes the logical interdependences among them. These plans involve four main steps Performing breakdown of work items involved in the project into activities. Identifying the proper sequence by which the activities should be executed. Activities representation. Estimating the resources, time, and cost of individual activities. Planning requires a rigorous effort by the planning team. A planner should know the different categories of work and be familiar with the terminology and knowledge used in general practice. Also, the planning tem should seek the opinion of experts including actual construction experience. This helps produce a realistic plan and avoids problems later on site.

Qualitative Effect of Solar Eclipse on Non Conventional Sources of Power Generation

Human beings have advanced in all aspects of life and have designed equipment that bear the potential to reduce manual work by using mechanisms wherein energy can be converted to work. However, these equipment largely depend on electrical energy for their operation. With technological advancement, numerous methods of generation of electrical energy have been in practice of which, extensive contemporary research is been conducted in the field of non conventional energy sources. These energy sources are generally renewable and can be considered perennial depending on the method of harnessing the energy. However, the key source of life on earth is the solar radiation. It is solar radiation that facilitates various forms of life on earth and ensures meeting of the energy demand. Various other conventional and non conventional energy sources depend directly or indirectly on solar radiation for their existence. Thus we can say that solar energy is the driving force of life on earth without which, everything will come to a standstill. However, there are rare events like eclipses that hinder the intensity of incoming solar radiation thereby disturbing the stability of the energy received by the earth. This paper shall consider six power generation methods using non conventional energy sources and the qualitative effect of a solar eclipse on the output of the same. For each case the basic working shall be explained after which, key factors affecting the working shall be put forward. Thereafter the qualitative effect of solar eclipse on the factors shall be discussed to draw a conclusion regarding the most affected and the least affected methods of power generation from non conventional energy sources in event of a solar eclipse.

Study and Development of PIC Microcontroller to PC Communication via USB

In this article, authors attempt to describe a study and development of PIC Microcontroller to PC communication via USB. The Microchip FSUSB Framework utilized the PIC18F4553 with 20MHz crystal. PortB pin RB4 has been used as Bootloader and RD0 and RD1 as the status indicator. Moreover, RC5 and RC4 of PortC have been used as USB D and D . Firmware tools consist of Mplab IDE, Mplab C18 Compiler, Driver, FSUSB Framework v2.6 and Microsoft Visual Stadio Visual C C Sharp . Demonstration and Development of a complete USB2.0 communication solution has been verified by using USBDevice – CDC – BASICDEMO software on Proteus 7.7 simulation platform.

Generation of Electric Power through Gas Turbine

The major components of a gas turbine are compressor, combustors, turbine and generator. It operates by continuous drawing in fresh air into the compressor. The Air is then compressed to a high pressure in the compressor and discharge into the combustion. Here the air is missed with gas and burns continuous once ignited to increase its energy level at constant pressure. The high pressure and temperature combustion product enter an expansion turbine that converts the gas thermal energy into mechanical energy of a rotating shaft, which in turn drives the generator rotor. The resulting low pressure and low temperature gases are discharged to atmosphere at constant pressure after expanding through the turbine.

Experimental Study on Light Weight Concrete by Partical Replacement of Cement and Fine and Fine Aggeregates by Fly and Termocal

Light weight concrete plays an important role in structural engineering and its use to steadily increasing light weight concrete using mix M25 and made by partial replacement of cement and fine aggregate by fly ash thermocol. It has many advantages of dead load reduction high thermal insulation, increase the process of building and lowers haulage cos. It is include an expanding agent in that it increase the volume of mixture.

Seismic Performance of RC Frame Building with Different Position of Shear Wall

An earthquake force is a very strange force and behaves quite differently than Gravity and Wind loads, striking the weakest spot in the whole three dimensional structure. It’s not earthquake that kills, in fact ignorance in design and poor quality construction results in many weaknesses in the structure that cause serious damage to life and property. Masonry Infill are frequently used to fill the gap between the vertical and horizontal resisting elements of the building frames with the assumption that these in fills will not take part in resisting any kind of load either axial or lateral. Hence, its significance in the analysis is generally neglected by the designer. In fact, infill wall and shear wall considerably enhance the rigidity and strength of the frame structure. Various researches suggest that the bare frame has comparatively lesser stiffness and strength than the infill frame and frame with shear wall, therefore their ignorance cause failure of many multistorey buildings when subjected to seismic loads. In the present study, the finite element analysis of RC frame models viz. a bare frame a frame with shear wall considering infill a bare frame with shear wall has been carried out and the number of storeys vary as G 3, G 5, G 7 and G 9. Linear analysis of all RC frame structures has been performed as per IS 1893 Part 1 2002 and IS 456 2000. In this study only in plane stiffness of masonry wall has been considered and infill panels modelled as equivalent diagonal strut elements. The behaviour of buildings subjected to Gravity and Seismic loads with the help of Response Spectrum Analysis using FEM based software and the effect on Time Period, Mass Participation factor, and Storey Drift has been observed. Strength and Rigidity of RC bare frame structures is found increasing after the inclusion of infill panels and shear wall.

Performance Analysis of MIMO System on Different Modulation Scheme over Rician Channel

The wireless communications is one of the most active areas of technology development of our time. Recently, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing has been regarded as one of the core technologies for various wireless communication systems. The BER level is depend on the modulation type, SNR value and channel behavior. The Modulation schemes that we have used in this thesis are 4 QAM, 8 QAM, 16 QAM and 64 QAM which further improved using forward error correction codes FEC . A comparison is made between the diversity gain of MIMO systems in terms of BER for high QAM modulation scheme. This work presents, by a simulation toll MATLAB R2013a used for model implemented using fading channel to the performance analysis of Bit Error rate BER V S Signal to Noise ratio SNR .
