Survey Datasets on Categories of Factors Mitigating Safety Practices on Construction Sites

Construction sites are known to be one of the most dangerous areas for human health and safety. In developing countries, enforcement of safety rules are often negligible to minimize occupational injuries and illnesses. The success of any construction project is highly depending on health and safety management and its objective is to obtain a clear and successful work on the construction sites without fatalities or injures among the workers and other administrators on the construction site. The information in this work is gathered by on ground workers and their status in terms of getting Personal Protective Equipment or PPE's. A survey was done at the construction site and total of 76 workers were targeted, out of which 68 responded. The results were presented in figures, text file and tables using Mean Score. The data presented in this study enables construction managers to standardize project risks and safety management. The results show the lack of proper training considering the use of PPE and significance of safety at construction site. Carelessness is seen in many places regarding the use of PPE. A lo
se handling is also seen where no check ups are done for the use of PPE and following of the guidelines for safety are not checked on daily basis. Lacks of equipment's are one of the major causes identified in the lacking of the safety at construction site.

Modification of Bituminous Mix by Adding Waste Polythene

Bituminous mixes are most commonly used all over the world in flexible pavement construction. It consists of asphalt or bitumen which binds mineral aggregate to make a homogeneous mix, laid down in layers and then compacted. In normal condition, conventional flexible pavements if designed and constructed properly as per the specifications, perform quite satisfactorily but the performance of bituminous mixes is very poor under temperature variation. Todays asphaltic concrete pavements are expected to perform better as they are experiencing increased volume of traffic, increased loads and increased variations in daily or seasonal temperature over what has been experienced in the past. Also these flexible pavements made up of bituminous materials are prone to deterioration by moisture. In the current investigation a fibrous and more moisture resistant bituminous mix is formed with the incorporation of waste polyethylene a locally available waste and non biodegradable compound. A comparison is drawn between conventional standard bitumen concrete and polyethylene modified bitumen concrete with varying polyethylene contents 0 , 2 , 4 , 6 , and 8 with bitumen binder 80 100 grade bitumen. Fly ash is used as mineral filler material. Waste polyethylene used as a modifier for the bituminous mixes for sustainable management of plastic waste as well as for improvement of bituminous mix. Marshall Method of proportioning mix design is to find the best percentage of polyethylene content to prepare mixes of different concentration.

Validation of Theory of Qualitative Effect of Total Solar Eclipse on Power Generation of Solar Power Plant

Stability and functionality of equipment is highly dependent on the process variables and inherent response of the system elements to changes in the same. Equipment is designed considering certain known risks so that slight deviation in the process variables should not hinder the functioning largely. In case of solar power plants, the key risk areas hindering the power output are cloud cover, untidy surfaces of solar panels and short circuits due to overheating at scattered locations. But in addition to these, solar eclipse is a rarely occurring event which has the potential to cause severe damages to the power plant. According to an established theory, during the eclipse, there is a stall in the power output as the solar radiation is covered by the moon but as the eclipse passes the totality, one can expect a sudden surge in the incoming solar radiation which bears the potential to destabilize the power generation system. This paper intends to validate the theory by quantification and analysis of data collected during a solar eclipse in the yesteryear. The data collected during the eclipse will be compared to that collected on a consecutive day without an eclipse to confirm the surge in solar radiation once the eclipse totality is passed. This data can be helpful for solar power plant design, selection according to power generation capacity and occupational equipment safety in context of emergency preparedness and response.

Laravel - A Trending PHP Framework

In this paper we quick study about laravel framework with PHP. Generally, framework is a real or theoretical configuration intended to serve as a support or guide for the webpage programming application. Its provide various pre defined tools and directory files for make an easy project. PHP is the most frequently used server side scripting language. It designed mainly for web development and also used as building dynamic web pages. Nearly 82 of web developers are use PHP scripting for developing good and comprehensive webpage. Laravel is a framework in PHP. It has a more flexible tool for developing an expensive webpage with short period and more proficient. Laravel is a first framework introducing routing concept.

Prediction of Power Consumption and Leakage Detection

Energy consumption and predictions in the residential buildings play an important role within the energy management and system, as the availability in the demand of energy resources is dynamic. Human beings are unaware of the value of energy consumed by various appliances and therefore the energy resources available for subsequent generation. Each appliances in homes will consume different power consumption in several seasons. Accordingly the bill rate changes.

Effects of Different Types of Sulphates and Concentrations on Steel

Steel which is indispensable in infrastructures, transportation and manufacturing has a major drawback which is its susceptibility to deterioration corrosion that causes economic damage. Some structural failures cannot be unconnected to steel deterioration. Different factors cause deterioration of steel and steel structures but less attention has been given to the sulphate attack based on surrounding environment as one of the factors. In this work, the effects of different types of sulphates and different concentrations of sulphate solutions on the physical properties of steel over a period of time were considered. The sulphates include Calcium sulphate CaSO4 , Ammonium sulphate NH4 2SO4 , Sodium sulphate Na2SO4 and Magnesium sulphate MgSO4.H2O with concentrations of 1 , 3 and 5 . Weight loss analysis and physical observation were adopted to ascertain the deterioration of steel samples. Results show a progressive increase in weight loss for all the samples in the different solutions as the duration of immersion increases. With the exception of ammonium sulphate, the weight loss reduces with increasing sulphate concentration. Ammonium sulphate solution has a more significant effect on the steel samples than the other sulphate solutions. The deterioration also reflected in the colour and physical appearance of the steel samples. Hence sulphate causes deterioration in steel, therefore, appropriate precautions and prevention should be applied in constructions involving steel in a sulphate rich environment.

Diabetic Retinopathy Detection using Neural Networking

The clinical and laboratory studies states that diabetic retinopathy is the major cause of permanent blindness among the aged personalities. The problem with this disease is that there is no cure for it and the only thing we can do is to detect the disease as soon as possible in order to prevent further loss of vision. In this system we propose a CNN approach for diagnosing DR from retinal images and classifying the stages of the disease .The classification is done based on the haemorrhages, micro aneurysms present in the retinal image. We train this network using a high end graphics processor unit GPU using kaggle data set and the disease classification is done, hence we can identify the the disease and prevent the further loss of vision.
