Study of an Innovative Construction Material - “Basalt Fiber”

Basalt fiber BCF is an inorganic fiber material. It is an all natural material and originates from volcanic rock. Basalt rock is melted at high temperature 1450° C and rapidly drawn into a continuous fiber. It then can be chopped into various lengths. Its color can vary between brown, gold, or gray. The basic characteristics of Basalt materials are high temperature resistance, high corrosion resistance, resistance to acids and alkalis, high strength and thermal stability. Basalt materials can be used as a reinforcing composite material for the construction industry, specifically as a less expensive alternative to other fiber. In addition to high specific strength, high specific modulus, BCF also has excellent temperature resistance 260~700 , anti oxidation, anti radiation, thermal and sound insulation, filtration, anti compression strength and high shear strength, high availability, and good cost performance. It is found in nature as an inorganic non metal material and is a new basic material and high tech fiber that can satisfy the demand for the development of basic infrastructures.

Application of High Voltage Engineering for Air Pollution Control ESP

The fastest growing Industrialization in today’s world of has resulted into degradation of environmental in terms of air pollution. It is not possible physically to achieve a 100 per cent pollution free environment with industries operating. Considering the hazardous effects due to air pollution it is important to make sure that, the least pollution caused by industrial units. To achieve this effective and adequate pollution control techniques are required to implement, so that effects on the environment are minimized. The electrostatic precipitator is one of the major applications of high voltage engineering for air pollution control. It became one of the key control in get rid of harmful particulates coming out and mixing in environment from different industries. Already various research and invetstments in the area of Electro Static Precipitator is growing by looking at the key benefits resulting through the use of it. As numerous projects are in working even at this very moment all over the world, this paper a comprehensive review is attempted to focus on elements of ESP.

Linearity of Feature Extraction Techniques for Medical Images by using Scale Invariant Feature Transform

In Machine Learning, Pattern Recognition and in the field of image processing, Feature Extraction starts from an initial set of the measured data. Builds derived values are intended to be informative and non redundant, facilating the subsequent learning and in some cases leading to the better human interpretations. Feature Extraction is a dimensionally reduction process, where an initial set of raw variables has been reduced to more manageable groups. Many data analysis software packages provide for feature extraction and for dimension reduction. Determining a subset of the initial features is also known as feature extraction. Common Numerical programming environments are MATLAB, SciLab, NumPy, etc.

Design and Evaluation of Ankle Reconstruction

Ankle reconstruction is a fairly new concept and is one of the popular treatment for ankle fractures and arthritis. Ankle reconstruction aims to offer a successful alternative to arthrodesis, the existing mainstay and gold standard surgical procedure for disabling ankle arthritis. The surgeon fits the talus bone of the upper foot and the tibia bone at the end of the lower leg with metal components made of cobalt chromium alloy with pure titanium where they comes in contact with bone. This project focuses on modelling and 3D printing of a prosthetic talocrural joint. The standard sizes of tibia which is the longer base of lower leg and talus being lower part of the ankle joint are observed and modelled accordingly by using CATIA with standard dimensions. The prototype is made with PLA plastic using an FDM Fused Deposition Modelling 3D printer. The analysis test carried on ANSYS by applying human weight on the tibial surface and physical tests are conducted on universal testing machine. The compressing force is applied on the prototype and observed till failure. Results obtained are compared for static position of the foot of both analytical and physical outcomes.

Performance Analysis of Fading Channels on Cooperative Mode Spectrum Sensing Technique for Cognitive Radio

Spectrum sensing is the main feature of cognitive radio technology. Spectrum sensing gives an idea of detecting the presence of the primary users in a licensed spectrum. The sensing of radio spectrum is an essential problem in cognitive radio CR networks, where secondary users SUs need to detect the presence of primary users PUs before they use the spectrum allocated to PUs. The detection of primary user status and the spectrum sensing are the major issues in cognitive radio systems. We employ one of the simplest and most efficient Spectrum Sensing technique, the cooperative spectrum sensing with three different digital modulation techniques BPSK, QPSK, 16 QAM. In this paper, we analyze the performance of the cooperative spectrum sensing technique with BPSK, QPSK, 16 QAM modulation techniques over Rayleigh fading Channel. Further, we analyze the performance and BER Bit Error Rate of cooperative spectrum sensing under Rayleigh fading and AWGN channels. The investigation and analysis on cooperative spectrum sensing with above digital modulation techniques can be utilized for future reference of spectrum sensing in the CR networks over AWGN and Rayleigh fading channels.

Gesture Based Communication System

Gesture based communication system is designed keeping in mind the communication needs of the people who are either bedridden or suffer from some kind of speech impairment. The main benefit of this system is that it's not necessary for some other person to be present with the bedridden person always by providing message services. It is a microcontroller based system that uses buttons present on the glove to display on a screen and play a particular message through speaker that is already stored in the system and uses joystick to compose a message not present in the system and to send the same to a person not physically there. The person can also communicate with the disabled person through a software to ensure 2 way communication. In this way, this project will help to lower the communication gap between poorly abled and normal people.

Care – Max for Drowsiness Detection and Notification

This project proposes drowsiness detection and notification system for vehicles and a mobile application for car maintenance. The major objective of the system is to prevent the road accidents caused by driver falling asleep during the travel. The system for drowsiness detection has a camera that monitors the driver’s eye continuously. It calculates the eye aspect ratio to detect if the driver is drowsy. If found drowsy, alarm rings. In this project, a Raspberry Pi board is used for drowsiness detection and alerting the driver. The IoT based mobile application built using android studio proposed here has certain settings like next service date, interval for wheel air checking, interval for wheel alignment. The app is connected to the system using IoT. The information is sent to the system. These settings are notified to the driver through a voice module.
