Nonlinear Control of Static Synchronous Compensator STATCOM for Transmission System

The Static Synchronous Compensator STATCOM is a shunt controller, which is a member of FACTS devices. In this paper, an effective and robust controller for STATCOM device on transmission lines, a Single Machine Infinite Bus SMIB system is modeled. A state space mathematical model is constructed which considers both electromechanical oscillations and reactive current of the STATCOM at the installation site. Based the obtained third order model, state feedback linearization and linear quadratic regulation LQR approach are applied to obtain a nonlinear control law. The controllers are simulated and tested under different operating conditions comparing with the conventional PI controller.

Performance of Best Route Selection using RIP and OSPF Routing Protocols

Routing protocols determine the best routes to transfer data from one node to another and specify how routers communicate between each other in order to complete this task. There are different classes of routing protocols, two of which are Exterior Gateway Protocol EGP and Interior Gateway Routing IGR. A routing protocol can be dynamic or static, as well as distance vector or link state. This paper presents the performance of best route selection using dynamic routing protocols such as Routing Information Protocol RIP and Open Shortest Path First OSPF. The network is designed to connect the site A and site B with seven interconnected routers and two switches. The performances of two routing protocols for a wired network are tested and the best route selection has been analyzed with routing table. It can be traced by using tracert command in order to observe the best route between two sites. This performance analysis has been simulated by applying Packet Tracer Simulator.

Implementation of 32 Bit RISC Processor using Reversible Gates

Reversible logic is one of the emerging technologies having promising applications in quantum computing. The aim of this project is to design the schematic and simulation for a 32 bit RISC processor using reversible logic peres gate. Beside the functional development, by optimizing the speed of our processor in every block which is inside that, and to minimize the overall delay conventional gates are replaced with reversible gates. This reversible gates which are applicable in Nano technology, Quantum computing, Low power CMOS, Optical computing. This RISC embodies 15 basic instructions involving Arithmetic, Logical, Data Transfer and control instructions. To implement these instructions the design incorporates various design blocks like Control Unit CU, Arithmetic and Logic Unit ALU, Accumulator, Program Counter PC, Instruction Register IR, Memory and additional logic. Design is implemented and verified in VHDL in Xilinx 14.3.

FPGA Based Digital Logic Circuits Operation for Beginners

This paper presents the operations of digital circuits based on FPGA. The long term of FPGA is field programmable gate array. FPGA is an integrated circuit designed to be configured by a customer or a designer after manufacturing  hence field programmable . The operations of logic circuits such as logic gates, flip flop and 7 segment are tested using quartus II software and DE2 115 and DE1 FPGA development kits in this paper. Particularly, there are three main portions such as implementation of schematic diagram, designing of the vhdl program, the connection of the control panel and displaying the result of logic circuits on FPGA kit. The operations of combinational circuits are tested by designing the VHDL programs. And then the operations of sequential circuits are observed and displayed the results of them by illustrating the schematic diagrams.

A Research Article on Synthesis of Metal Nano Particles by Chemical Reduction Method

Nanotechnology is an experimental and engineering technology manipulate at the nanoscale, such as in the field of different compound fabric synthesizing, food processing agriculture processing and as well as in medicinal application. Due to their physical and chemical applications the metal nanoparticles have a great interest in research. A variety of physical, chemical and biological method that can be used for the synthesis of the metal nanoparticle. All the methods have positive advantages as well as some obstruction. In this following review we try to explain recent research on the synthesis and various application of metal nanoparticle. We summarized the different chemical reduction method and briefly explain their application.

Knowledge Discovery in Classification and Distribution of Butterfly Species From Dagon University Campus, Myanmar by Rule Induction CN2 Algorithm

Rule induction is an area of machine learning in which formal rules are extracted from a set of observations. The CN2 induction algorithm is a learning algorithm for rule induction. In this research, "The Fauna of British India, Ceylon and Burma. Butterflies. Vol. I and Vol. II" written by C.T Bingham are used as the required knowledge for the resource. This research applies the CN2 algorithm to discover the knowledge of butterfly species rules for classification from Dagon University campus and a system has also developed. In this system, 29 butterflies as a zoological dataset, MS Visual Studio 2012 as a programming tool and MS SQL Server as for database development are used.

Real Time Eye Blinking and Yawning Detection

Detecting eye blink and yawning is important, for example in systems that monitor the vigilance of the human operator, eg Driver's drowsiness. Driver fatigue is one of the leading causes of the worlds deadliest road accidents. This shows that in the transport sector in particular, where a driver of heavy vehicles is often open to hours of monotonous driving which causes fatigue without frequent rest periods. It is therefore essential to design a road accident prevention system that can detect the drivers drowsiness, determine the drivers level of carelessness and warn when an imminent danger occurs. In this article, we propose a real time system that uses eye detection techniques, blinking and yawning. The system is designed as a non intrusive real time monitoring system. The priority is to improve driver safety without being intrusive. In this work, the blink of an eye and the drivers yawn are detected. If the drivers eyes remain closed for more than a certain time and the drivers mouth is open to yawning, the driver is said to be fatigue.
