Modelling and Analysis of Spark Ignition Carburettor

Modern passenger vehicles with gasoline engines are provided with different compensating devices for fuel air mixture supply. Even there is a high fuel consumption because of many factors. One of the important factors that affects the fuel consumption is carburettor. The venturi of the carburettor is important that provides a necessary pressure drop in the carburettor device. For a better economy and uniform air fuel supply there is a need to design the carburettor with an effective analytical tool or software. In this work three parameters namely, pressure drop and fuel discharge nozzle angle and the throttle angle will be analysed using the computational fluid dynamics. For this analysis two soft wares are used namely CATIA and ANSYS. Whereas CATIA for designing of carburettor and ANSYS for analysis of the carburettor. The results obtained from the soft wares will be analysed for optimum design of a carburettor and also find out the exact pressure at various throttle angles and choke valve for a proper homogenous air fuel mixture.

Thermoelectric Air Conditioning

We know that the present air conditioning system produces cooling effect by refrigerants like Freon, Ammonia. Using this refrigerants can get maximum output but one of the major disadvantages is harmful gas emission and global warming. This problem can be overcome by using thermoelectric modules Peltier effect air conditioner and their by protecting the environment. The present paper deals with the study of Thermoelectric air conditioner using different modules is discuss Thermoelectric cooling systems have advantages over conventional cooling devices, such as compact in size, light in weight, high reliability. High reliability as there is no moving parts.

Right Selection of Inverter Systems and Harmonics Reduction A Means of Enhancing Power Infrastructure in Nigeria

The paper examines various types of inverter systems available in the markets in terms of their waveforms, harmonics and quality by taking the ideal Sinusoidal waveform as a reference. It illuminates some vital information on various types of inverters and their technologies. It identifies harmonics distortion has an important criterion for selecting a power inverter. It shows in lucid manner how to mathematically determine Total Harmonic Distortion THD of a waveform. It calculates the harmonics content of a Square wave inverter and proffer solution on how to reduce them. The resultant is an empowerment of power electronics engineers to distinguish which of the types to purchase in order to optimally improve national infrastructure and to enhance values of their scarce resources.

Regenerative Braking System

Regenerative braking system is a small, but an eventual method for converting unwanted heat energy into electrical energy. The energy generated is stored in the battery. This helps in reducing the usage of the external battery for charging purposes. These types of brakes helps in increasing the driving range for the electric vehicles as they can travel for longer periods. Regenerative braking system also in improving the fuel economy. It is a way of increasing the efficiency rate of the vehicles. Instead, of converting the kinhetic energy into thermal energy through friction braking this system can convert a good fraction of kinetic energy into electric energy and charge the battey using the principle of alternator.

Modeling and Simulation of Unified Series Shunt Compensator for Power Quality Improvement

Power Quality in the distribution system is the important issue for industrial, commercial and residential applications. An increasing demond for high quality, reliable electrical power and an increasing number of distorting loads have led an increased awareness of power quality both by customer and utilities. This paper deals with the simulation of a Unified series shunt compensator, which is aimed at mitigating most of the Power Quality problems such as Voltage sag compensation, Voltage swell compensation, Voltage Flicker reduction, Voltage Unbalance mitigation, UPS mode operation. The modeling and simulation of the USSC has been carried out by using Facts controller. The USSC simulation model comprises of two 6 pulse inverters which are connected in series and in shunt to the system. The USSC is designed by using MATLAB SIMULINK based simulation for the working of the USSC. The USSC has mitigated several Power Quality problems giving better performance.

Arduino Based Smart Home Automation System

This paper presents the design and prototype implementation of the automation system that can be used two Arduino Nano with sensors. To demonstrate the effectiveness of this system, the devices such as LDR, temperature sensor, smoke sensor and motion sensor have been integrated with the automation system. In addition, the GSM and RFID modules are also used for security system. The functions of the sensors are to monitor and control the light, the room temperature and alarms. The main goal of the security system is GSM which is used to send the SMS alerts to the owner. Two Arduino Nano control sensors and relays that monitor a defined location and take action based on specified parameters like ambient light, temperature, etc. The microcontroller will send SMS to the owner if the sensors detect an abnormality. In addition, door lock security is developed by RFID module. In this paper, the presents of GSM module security system make more secure and reliable.
