Experimental Study on Properties of Clay Bricks by Adding Cement, Lime and SCBA

Bricks are the artificial stones. These are used in building construction and for ornamental purposes. These are one of the basic materials used for wall construction. These are easily available, cheap and light weighted. They can be mould into required shape and size. The properly manufactured bricks are nearly as strong as stone.

Review Paper on Study on Properties of Black Cotton Soil using Rice Husk Ash

The growing cost of traditional stabilizing agents and the need for the economical utilization of industrial and agricultural wastes for beneficial engineering purposes has prompted an investigation into the stabilizing potential of Rice Husk Ash in subgrde soil. These Large Quantities of Waste Materials Rice Husk Ash e.g. create negative impact on the environment causing air pollution, water pollution, affecting the local eco- system and hence safe disposal of this waste material is required. Utilizing these waste materials as alternative materials for the construction is no doubt a best solution.

The Impact of Technology Trends on Healthcare Systems A Study on Opportunities and Threats

The importance of health in human life is enormous. The technologies developed and the studies in this field have caused differences in the field of health as in all areas. The aim of this study is to examine the needs in the field of health and to set the criteria for determining the most appropriate technology. In the study, three new technology trends in literature are examined. The concepts of edge computing, fog computing and cloud computing were evaluated within the scope of the study. The literature of these three concepts has been examined and the areas where they can be preferred in the field of health services are presented. In addition, at the end of the study, the necessity of Futurist Healthcare systems, which will cover all health services, is stated.

Effect of Diesel Engine Fuelled with Biofuel Blends

The present work was conducted on a 1-cylinder, 4S, DI CI engine, on which neat diesel, neem biodiesel and polanga biodiesel and ethanol fuel were tested by varying the load on the engine setup at various blend ratios such as - diesel fuel 100 D100 , biodiesel neem 100 N100 , biodiesel polanga 50 blended with diesel 50 P50 , and ethanol 5 blended with diesel 95 E5 .The research carried was to compare the performance-emission characteristics of various blend samples w.r.t neat diesel fuel.

The performance results show that, the BTE of N100, P50 fuel blends was less than E5 blend, as compared to neat diesel, whereas, the BSFC of D100, E5 blend had a decreasing nature than N100 and P50 blend. The CO emissions among the biofuel blends was maximum for N100 and then P50 blend but the least was for E5 blend w.r.t neat diesel. Also, the UHC emission for N100, P50 and E5 blends had a decreasing trend than neat diesel fuel.

The D100 fuel had a maximum NOx emission in comparison to others and the least was by E5 blend. The CO2 emission of N100 and D100 was the highest than P50 and E5 blends during the operation. The unused O2for N100 fuel was the least than other fuel samples and the maximum was for E5 blend. The biofuel blends being used here had an effective outcome which can be utilised as an substitute for neat diesel.

Smart Home using Kinco PLC

This paper describes about smart home using Kinco PLC programming. Nowadays, smart homes are popular in everywhere. A smart home can provide its home owner with comfort, security, energy efficiency, and convenience at all times, regardless of whether anyone is home. In this report, smart home is designed to control multiple systems by using PLC. Gate door control is combined with radio frequency remote control and Main door security is designed with access control which can work with RFID card and password. There is also another security solution, CCTV and fire alarm system for monitoring and fire-fighting. For the lighting control, it can automatically ON OFF with PLC programming. Moreover, garage door control system is added. User friendly operation and less error solution are designed for home automation.

Enhancement of Strength Characteristics of Poorly Graded Soil by Flyash and Cement

Fly Ash is the waste material, which is obtained after burning coal in Thermal Power Plants. It can be used as a stabilizer for soil due to its pozzolanic effect or an inherent self-hardening property under favourable conditions of moisture and compaction. This project aims at increasing the strength of poorly graded soils by using Fly Ash and cement as admixtures. Some percentage of Fly Ash without any additives was utilized so as to reduce the cost of construction and this is a good method for disposal of it. Fly Ash was added in various percentages like 10, 20, 30 and 40 percentages by volume .

Initially all basic Geotechnical properties of the soil such as liquid limit, plastic limit, shrinkage limit, Grain Size Analysis, Specific Gravity, Free Swell Index, Unconfined Compressive Strength, OMC and MDD were determined. Later on the stabilized mixes were tested for CBR California Bearing Ratio which is an indirect measurement of strength. After the detailed experimental investigation it is observed that 30 addition of Fly Ash has shown maximum strengths, so that to obtain much more strengths cement was added in 2, 5, 8 and 10 percentages to this optimum mix of Fly Ash with soil.

After that the soil mixes were tested for CBR California Bearing Ratio to check it's feasibility in Flexible Pavement constructions. The strengths were checked in both Unsoaked and soaked conditions and at various curing periods like 7 and 28 Days. Among all proportions 30 Fly Ash 8 of the cement has shown maximum strengths, so that it was decided as optimum mix. Maximum strengths were obtained at 28 days curing period for all proportions of mixes so that this period is decided as optimum curing period. Eventually this project work facilitates an economical, strong and durable construction material for Flexible Pavements.
