Simulation of Power Electronic Converter Circuits Using COM3LAB Learning Software in Teaching: A Case Study

Power electronics concepts are difficult to explain using conventional teaching tools. Use of COMB3LAB software in teaching provides additional support forvisual representations of power converter circuits operation and waveforms.

Models of different power electronics converters are prepared on COMB3LAB software and generate simulation waveforms. This paper is helpful for the faculty of electrical engineering to find the various applications of COM3LAB software in teaching.

Utilization of Recycled Coarse Aggregate for Concrete Production

The utilization of recycled aggregate on compressive strength of concrete is investigated in this research. In the experimental, five types of concrete mixtures were tested: concrete made with natural aggregate as a control concrete and five types of concrete made with natural fine and recycled coarse aggregate (10%, 20%, 30% and 50%) replacement of coarse recycled aggregate).

In this research, physical properties tests of each constitutes material are done according to ASTM procedures at laboratory. After that, concrete mix proportioning is done to obtain the specified 28-day characteristics cylinder compressive strength of 20 MPa (cube compressive strength of 25.64 MPa) and 75+ 25 mm slump according to ACI211 method.

In this step, trial mixes are prepared using recycled coarse aggregates, with respect to the 7-day and 28-day compressive strength results. And then, appropriate mix design is selected for specified strength. Moreover, 120 concrete specimens for mix proportion of selected Grade is tested to the 7-day and 28-day compressive strength to establish a standard deviation and their results are compared.

For standard deviation, total 720 cubes (120 cubes for each) are cast. In this research, concrete made with 30% recycled coarse aggregate performed best in specified target strength and also in selected slump control among the various proportions.

Role of Thermoplastic Granulus for the Improvement of Strength of Clay Soil

Soil stabilization is any process which improves the physical properties of soil, such as increasing shear strength, bearing capacity etc. which can be done by use of controlled compaction or addition of suitable admixtures like cement, lime and waste materials like fly ash, phosphogypsum etc. The cost of introducing these additives has also increased in recent years which opened the door widely for the development of other kinds of soil additives such as plastics, bamboo etc.

This new technique of soil stabilization can be effectively used to meet the challenges of society, to reduce the quantities of waste, producing useful material from non-useful waste materials. Using of plastic wastes such as plastic bags, PVC powder from industry and construction and demolition waste is increasing day by day leading to various environmental concerns.

Therefore the disposal of the plastic wastes without causing any ecological hazards has become a real challenge. Thus using PVC as a soil stabilizer is an economical utilization since there is scarcity of good quality soil for embankments. This paper describes an experimental study on mixing PVC waste powder with clayey soil at different mixing ratios (0, 0.25, 0.50, and 0.75) % by weight respectively. For the clay Soil, Shear Strength parameter and Cohesion Value are obtained by conducting Unconfined Compressive Strength (UCC) test and Maximum Dry Density is found by Standard Proctor Test.

Analysis Of Drinking Water Quality Parameters (A Case Study Of Hanumangarh Town)

The present study has based on the analysis of drinking water quality parameters (A Case Study Of Hanumangarh Town) Due to the human and industries activities the water is contaminated. This is serious problem now a day. Thus the analysis of water quality is very important to preserve and perfect the natural eco system.

The assessment of water quality index (WQI) for the drinking water of Hanumangarh Town, district Hanumangarh (Rajasthan). The present work is aimed at assessing the analysis drinking water quality of Hanumangarh Town. The water samples of all the selected stations from the wards were collected for the physicochemical analysis.

For calculating present water quality status by statistical evaluation and water quality index, following 9 parameters have been considered pH, Taste, Chloride, Total Hardness, Turbidity, Odour, Taste, colour, Temperature. The obtain results are compared with Indian standard drinking water quality specification IS: 10500-2012.

The study of physicochemical characteristics of this water sample suggested that the evaluation of water quality parameters as well as quality management should be carried out periodically to protect the water resources. Canals IGNP, Bhakhra canals are flowing through Hanumangarh district in Rajasthan. Water quality Parameters of these canals were analyzed in 2017-2018. Although the parameters, equality values are notice in same station.

An Informational Search for Review through Data Analytics

Spreading of large unstructured information generated by social networks provide useful results to the effective recommender. However, the high volume of reviews that are typically published for a single product makes harder for individuals as well as manufacturers to locate the best reviews and understand the true underlying quality of a product.

This paper suggests an approach to identify product opportunities from customer reviews in social media. Our approach explores to identify multiple reviews and get processed by sentimental analysis. These extracted data may contain positive and negative sentimental reviews. The recommended product can be visible to all the users who are present in network.

The sentimental words get ordered based on priority. With the help of this, the user can get the best product by comparing it with other products. Sentimental analysis plays an important role to decide a product and both the users and manufacturers get benefit through this.

Two Dimensional Filter Design Using Evolutionary Optimization

In the last few years design of two dimensional has grown sufficient zest among researchers. The design of two dimensional finite impulse response (FIR) filters can be expound as a non-linear optimization problem.

The constraints are high and estimation of large number of parameters is needed, especially in case of two dimensional finite impulse response filters. In order to improve performance we have used Binary Cat Swarm Optimization (BCSO) in which some concepts are introduced to bring down ripples.

A Performance Degradation Tolerance Way Tagged Cache

For an electronic product or chip if functional faults exist, then the product or chip is of no use. Therefore, if we take a cache memory, a secondary memory for high-speed retrieval of data stored where functional faults exist. These functional faults in the data stored in the cache can be converted into performance faults so that the caches can still be marketable.

In processors, caches are designed as Level 1(L1), Level 2(L2), and the least hard disk. If the processor wants the data fromto memory it checks the availability of data in upper-level cache L1 and if the data is found it sends to the processor. If the data is not found in L1, it checks in lower level cache L2 and next in L3 and at the least in slow memory or hard disk.

So, in this process, many functional faults may exist which leads to making the processor faulty. So, to protect the cache memory ECC and BIST are used. For a cache redesign, a PDT cache is used where functional faults are converted into performance faults. We propose a new PDT way tagged cache design which leads to increased performance. This reduces fault rate with small hardware overhead by applying BIST or ECC method.
