Counterfeit Currency Detection

Nowadays problem of fake currency increases because of increasing in technology like scanning, color printing so result in counterfeit currency. In India increase in fake paper currency notes of 100, 500, 2000 rupees etc. So detection of fake currency is necessary. The determination of fake currency with the help of image processing. Firstly Image acquisition is done then pre-processing stage applied to that image for suppress unwanted feature and added some feature which are necessary for further process.

Conversion of RGB picture into HSV scale. Then image segmentation applied to that image in this image divided into number of objects. Then morphological operation is perform on that picture. Further feature extraction/area of calculation stage applied to that picture and finally that picture compared with the original image.

Design and Fabrication of A Foot Operated Washing Machine

The current research project is undertaken to solve the problem of electric supply to people because of which many in rural area are unable to wash clothes. Nowadays there is electric supply which is provided in most parts of the world but we cannot neglect those who don't have access to electricity. In India most of village and hilly areas are suffering from lack of electricity supply. So, to overcome above problem we select the washing machine, which is operated manually.

It requires no power supply or diesel supply. It is a machine which use the power generated by human pedalling and with the use of bevel gears and shaft converts the pedalling motion into required rotary motion of the inner drum of washing machine. This is a low cost project and can be transported very easily. It is an eco friendly project which is made to help the society altogether. With this societal project we are providing a method to wash clothes that is both economical and effective. Keywords'” Pedal Power, Washing machine, Design, Fabrication, Bevel gears

Study The Behaviour Bending Phenomenon of Ferrocement Slab Panels

The fibrocement is a special type of reinforced concrete used for thin elements. It is made by cement micro concrete reinforced by continuous mesh layers from small diameter wires. The ferrocement is a building material with evident advantages for thin-walled members and spatial structures for this type of material. In this chapter describes the behaviour of ferrocement, advantages or disadvantages of ferrocement, quality and uses of ferrocement, objective of the thesis and organization of thesis.

Ferrocement serve as an innovative and low cost construction material. It has proven itself as an excellent material for low cost housing. Ferrocement possess high ductility and energy absorbing capacity and has been used both in terrestrial and marine environments as a structural grade material system, which competes favorably with reinforced concrete and other building materials (Hermosura and Austriaco, (1994); Ramli and Wahab, (1994); Arif et al., (1994); Naaman, (2006). Ferrocement is such a material that is slim, slender and also strong and elegant which provides a potential solution to roofing problems, with an history of ancient and universal method of building huts by using reeds to reinforce dried mud (wattle and daub).

The thickness of Ferrocement is in order of 10-25 mm and it uses rich cement mortar in which no coarse aggregates are used (J.R.Thirumal, (2012). In ferrocement the reinforcement consists of one or more layers of steel wire mesh which is continuous, small diameter steel wire or weld mesh netting. Ferrocement construction requires no skilled labor for casting, and employs only little or no formwork (Ferro 7, 2001). In ferrocement, there is no cracking of cement matrix since the load is taken over by wire mesh reinforcement immediately below the surface. (Desai, 2011). Ferrocement can be fabricated into any desired shape or structural configuration which is not possible with standard masonry, RCC or steel (Robles-Austriaco, 2006; Dongyen et al., 2006; Kondraivendhan & Pradhan, 2009).

Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) of Highway bridges using Wireless Sensor Network

The objective is to provide a solution to measure vibrations, strain inside a concrete structure. Using Wireless sensor network it remotely monitor health of bridges. The goal of the monitoring is understand the structure & prevent the damage & prepares to repair it before catastrophe failure. The accelerometer, gas sensor, load cell and ultrasonic sensor module in existing sensor nodes enables several novel applications. In this paper, a model for monitoring and detecting damage for real bridge using these sensor nodes is built.

The sensors are placed on a scaled down concrete bridge model i.e. mounted on a shaking table. The results are denoted in terms of acceleration on different nodes at a particular excitation frequency in the case of normal, single-side and double-side damage. The recommended system consists of a wireless Data Acquisition Unit (DAQ). The sensors in the DAQ assemble the bridge health signs and transmit them directly via the public mobile networks to the management and evaluation middleware for further processing. SHM system incorporates four major components: a wireless sensor system, a data processing system, alert system and a health evaluation system. This paper recommends a system architecture for smart healthcare based on GSM.

Design of Family Mould Tool for Plastic Box

Injection molding is a cyclic process of forming plastic into a desired shape by forcing the material under pressure into a cavity. The shaping is achieved by cooling (thermoplastics) or by a chemical reaction (thermosets). It is one of the most common and versatile operations for mass production of complex plastics parts with excellent dimensional tolerance. Injection molding is preferred where high tolerance, good quality and high rate productions are required.

The aim of this paper is to model, extract core'“cavity and develop injection molding tool for manufacturing a plastic box and also to reduce its warpage Core'“Cavity design the mould flow analysis of the component is done using SOLIDWORK software. The tool will design to produce a good quality component considering the ease of manufacturability, assembly and positive ejection of the component. The tool design should match the machine specification and should be same for successful life of a component or product.

Study on Comparison of Structural Fundamental Period within UBC -97 and ASCE 7-05

This study present the comparison of structural fundamental period generated from Equivalent Lateral Force Procedure by applying the provision of two building codes, UBC-97 and ASCE-7-05, to the most common residential buildings of standard occupancy. A sample three story building with two seismic zones (Yangon and Mandalay regions) and different soil types was subjected to code-compliant. All of the design calculations are processed by hand calculation.

Furthermore, the comparison of result, such as the response acceleration of each codes will present with design response spectrum curve. For all cases investigated, the UBC was found to be significantly more conservative than ASCE-7-05. Typically, when a jurisdiction develops its own building code, an ASCE 7 edition is frequently adopted. Consequently, the comparisons presented remain relevant even when a local jurisdiction develops its own building code.
