Analysis of Windshield Repair Technology

This paper presents analysis of different types of breaks in windshield and the repair process. Almost all windscreen damage can be attributed to stones or pebbles dislodged from tyres of vehicles in front, or simply drop from trucks carrying gravel. This object hit windscreen surface at great speed and the impact breaks the glass surface at the point of impact. Unfortunately, it may cause internal fracture of the glass, in which case a break occurs. The most common break one will see in windshield include: star shape, bullseye, round shape, cracks and combination breaks.

These breaks cause blurred vision to drivers and can result in an accident. Replacing windshield is not cost effective and causes water linkages with time; hence repairing the crack becomes very necessary. To repair crack, resin with the same refractive index with the windshield is used. A follow-up paper will discussed the analysis of resins used in windshield repair.

Study and Optimization of Car Hood for Pedestrian Head Safety by Using Simulation Technique

Head and face injuries in pedestrian- car accidents account for 60 % of all pedestrian fatal injuries, whereas 17.3 % of head injuries were due to the car hood. The above ratios show the necessity to consider carefully the role of the hood in pedestrian head safety. Redesigning the hood structure to improve pedestrian protection has recently received considerable attention by automobile manufacturers and industry institutes. However, there is a lack of research that considers methods of choosing the most effective thicknesses of hood skin and hood reinforcement with respect to pedestrian safety.

The aim of these tests was to compare the general pedestrian friendliness of steel and aluminum, used as hood material. The tests were conducted on a car that is still available on the market with either a steel or aluminum hood, both having the same design.

Concrete Mixture Assembly Line Improvement using ARENA Simulation - A Case Study

Since last decade, simulation is most required part of industries of all level. In simulation process plant layout to utilization of resources can be covered. In current case study Arena simulation model is made for line balancing and man power utilization. Case study is carried out at Esquire Machines Pvt. Ltd. - Vadodara. Final product/assembly is completely made out from 6 assemblies/subassemblies. The simulation model is prepared in ARENA Simulation software (student version). As an input for model real time is collected/counted with the help of mobile stopwatch for each and every process.

Data is distributed for its validation to use in simulation model on EasyFit Distribution software. Different scenarios are tested to optimize and balance the line and best solution is discussed.

Single and Two Phase Pressure Drop in Fluid

Pressure drop is of paramount importance in a fluid flow. Single phase pressure drop occurs in a pure liquid or pure gas flow. Two phase pressure drop occurs in phase changing equipments like evaporators and condensers of refrigeration air conditioning plants and heat pumps. Maximum two/ three types of pressure drop (frictional, gravitational and acceleration) can occur in a single or two phase flow. In each case, pressure drop take place in straight pipes. Several empirical equations and correlations have been developed and compared for the pressure drop.

Consequently well planned pipe layout and judicious selection of proper pipe material, pipe fittings and valves will result in reducing the overall pressure drop which in turn will reduce the running cost.

HMM-Based Face Recognition System with SVD Parameter

Today an increasing digital world, personal reliable authentication has become an important human Computer interface activity. It is very important to establish a person's identity. In today existing security mainly depends on passwords, swipe cards or token based approach and attitude to control access to physical and virtual spaces passport. Universal, such as methods, although very secure. Such as tokens, badges and access cards can be shared or stolen. Passwords and PIN numbers can be also stolen electronically.

In addition, they cannot distinguish between authentic have access to or knowledge of the user and tokens. To make a system more secure and simple with the use of biometric authentication system such as face and hand gesture recognition for personal authentication. So in this paper, A Hidden Markov Model (HMM) based face recognition system using Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) is proposed.

Fruit Farm Surveillance Using Drones

Monitoring all the farm activities manually takes a lot of time and is not efficient. In the recent days farmers spent a lot of time in providing quality results, but it is not 100% accurate. In other countries, the plantation area is much larger in size compared to India. In order to monitor, they've to hire more workers. Instead when the whole land is divided into parts, a drone can monitor each part by traversing from one end to the other. And the drone can be controlled by a single person sitting at any corner of the world. The drones have high resolution camera's fixed on it, which can scan the entire land for accurate results.

These high-resolution cameras can detect the percentage of fruitful plants and which aren't. Once this is detected, farmers can find alternate ways for the best results. It's hard to control the large plantation area manually, hence we use drones. To overcome this, drones can be used to find the percentage of fruitful/infected plants using image processing. It's easier to find the percentile of plants which will provide fruits in the near future. This also helps to cover large areas, reduce manual work, and can be used to extract the required results. Drones can be used to avoid bird feasting in the plantation area.

Various Data Mining Techniques for Diabetes Prognosis: A Review

Most of the food we eat is converted to glucose, or sugar which is used for energy. When you have diabetes, your body either doesn't make enough insulin or cannot use its own insulin as well as it should. This causes sugar to build up in your blood leading to complications like heart disease, stroke, neuropathy, poor circulation leading to loss of limbs, blindness, kidney failure, nerve damage, and death. Data mining adopts a series of pattern recognition technologies and statistical and mathematical techniques to discover the possible rules or relationships that govern the data in the databases.

Data mining plays an important role in data prediction. There are different types of diseases predicted in data mining namely Hepatitis, Lung Cancer, Liver disorder, Breast cancer, Thyroid disease, Diabetes etc'¦ This paper analyzes the Diabetes predictions.
