Heat Transfer Augmentation in Heat Exchanger using Nanofluid: A Review

Due to the limitation of fossil fuels, shortage of energy, optimization of energy consumption in various industrial processes becomes very important and challenging issue all over the world. A reduction in energy consumption is possible by enhancing the performance of heat exchanger and it is one of the most important devices related to energy and heat transfer. Nano fluid is a new engineering fluid which could improve the performance of heat exchanger. Nano fluids have greater potential for heat transfer enhancement and highly suited to application in practical heat transfer processes. Heat exchanger using Nano fluid is a device in which the heat transfer takes place by using Nano fluid.

Nano fluid is made by the suspending Nano particles in the fluid like water, ethylene glycol and oil, hydrocarbons, fluorocarbons etc. The main focus of this paper is to determine the possibility and future scope of Nano fluids in the terms of heat transfer augmentation. This review covers the enhancement of heat transfer by using Nano fluids and potential applications of Nano fluids. This paper presents an updated review of the heat transfer applications of Nano fluids to develop directions for future work because the literature in this area is spread over a wide range of disciplines, including heat transfer, material science, physics, chemical engineering and synthetic chemistry.

Smart Plant Growth on Hydroponics using Rain Water Harvesting

In present days soil possess lack of fertility that reduces the plant yield and its health by the frequent addition of chemical pesticides and lack of water. Hydroponics is the technique of growing any plant without implanting it in the soil. Hydroponics is used to save water and also to nourish the soil. This paper presents Automated Hydroponics systems that automatically deliver (drip irrigation) water in regular intervals from rain water harvesting tank. Organic nutrient solution is also conveyed to the plants in separate pipe.

This System uses fewer amounts of water and fertilizers as compared to conventional system. An android app is used for monitoring plants via Internet. PIR sensors are used to detect intrusion of human beings/animals. The hydroponic field could be implemented at rooftop or balcony also.

Implementation of Functional Analysis using Value Analysis Value Engineering (Vave) on Car Outside Handle

This paper presents one of the tools used in Value Analysis Value Engineering (VAVE) methodology; Functional Analysis and its implementation during New Product Development (NPD) phase. Current vehicle outer door handle has been redesigned through its functions in order to meet customer requirements of having higher value vehicle, by increasing performance while trying to decrease the cost without scarifying the quality, sale ability and maintainability. An analysis has been made and discussed using Function Analysis System Technique (FAST) diagram to achieve product optimization. Finally, results obtained are discussed.

Symbol development to present Friction stir Butt weld experiment

Friction stir welding is the process which have been famous from last 2 decades. The experiments carried are presented in bulk and no significant method is present to make the researcher understand what exactly the experiment was. For understanding the experiment a researcher must have to go through the article thoroughly and then observe and understand various data of experiment like the tooling, plate mounting as well other welding criteria. So the presentation of information is not in proper significant manner.

Here an attempt have been made to make the learner, researcher as well the experts to make them understand symbolic presentation of experiments mentioning all data related to it. One should have to go through a small exercise to understand it for 1 time then easily one can adopt understanding about the same.

Manifest Electronic Voting Machine Using Image Processing

Electing an Eligible leader is a highest and prestigious responsibilities of every citizen of the country. Conducting the election and announcing the election results is a time and resource consuming task. Introduction of Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) greatly reduced the burden of operation but raises many concerns about the authentication of the results. Failure political parties often blame the functioning of the EVM is compromised with hacking techniques and intentional malpractice. This project work endeavors to solve the continuous accusations over EVM through following multi verification methods.

Wireless voting copy machine and surveillance camera based voting counting. When a voter cast his/her vote a local copy of the data will be stored inside the EVM. Along with this verification a surveillance camera will recognize the casting vote with motion estimation. After the election, during data counting all the above two types of results will be compared to get a unique and authenticated result, which cannot be accused for malpractice.

Study on Buildup the Properties of R.C.C. Structures against Fire

Fire remains one of the serious potential risks to most buildings and structures. Since concrete is widely used in construction, research on fire resistance of concrete becomes more and more important. Many researchers all over the world have done some researches on this subject. The mechanical properties of all common building materials decrease with elevation of temperature.

The behavior of a reinforced concrete structure in fire conditions is governed by the properties of the constituent materials, concrete, and steel, at high temperature. Both concrete and steel undergo considerable change in their strength, physical properties, and stiffness by the effects of heating, and some of these changes are not recoverable after subsequent cooling. The mechanical properties of steel deteriorate by heat during fires, and the yield strength of conventional steel at 600-°C is less than 1/3 of the specified yield strength at room temperature. Therefore, conventional steels normally require fire-resistant coating to be applied. The temperature increase in the steel member is governed by the principles of heat transfer.

Consequently, it must be recognized that the temperature of the steel member(s) will not usually be the same as the fire temperature in a compartment or in the exterior flame plume. Protected steel will experience a much slower temperature rise during a fire exposure than unprotected steel. Also, fire effect on steel member is influenced with its distance from the center of the fire, and if more ventilation occurs near the steel in a fuel-controlled condition, wherein the ventilation helps to cool the steel by dissipating heat to the surrounding environment. Even once a protracted amount, the interior temperature of concrete remains comparatively low; this allows it to retain structural capability and hearth shielding properties as a separating part.
