Monitoring of the Chemical Oxygen Demand and Identify the Presence of Gas

Water pollution is one of the biggest fears for the green globalization. In order to ensure the safe supply of the drinking water the quality needs to be monitor in real time. In this paper we present a design and development of a low cost system for real time monitoring of the water quality. The system consist of several sensors is used to measuring physical and chemical parameters of the water. The parameters such as temperature, DO, Turbidity, conductivity and PH of the water can be measured. The measured values from the sensors can be processed by the core controller. Finally, the sensor data can be processed and send to the system.

An intelligent device control system using augmented reality and zigbee technology

Current technology and trend have made designing and implementation of embedded systems for home automation has increased the capabilities and features. There is a demand for smart home automation access via virtual reality. The proposed system allows the owner to access via virtual reality and controls the home appliances. This is very easy to access. In this paper, we present the design and implementation of a low cost but yet flexible, feasible and secure virtual reality based home automation system. In our proposed system we will try to control light, motor and 230v supply.

This work also demonstrates the use of virtual reality in the context of the appliance control. In this project we have used image processing techniques for image acquisition, pre processing, image segmentation and feature extraction. The user commands are captured by the camera and transmitted through wireless communication to the receiver end. Thus our project has a huge scope for training and development business using virtual image and setting up a virtual environment.

An Experimental Study on Shear Strength of Soil Sub Grade using Cement as Stabilizing Agent

Soil stabilization is the process of altering some soil properties by different methods, mechanical or chemical in order to produce an improved soil material which has all the desired engineering properties. Soils are generally stabilized to increase their strength and durability or to prevent erosion and dust formation in soils. The main aim is the creation of a soil material or system that will hold under the design use conditions and for the designed life of the engineering project.

The properties of soil vary a great deal at different places or in certain cases even at one place; the success of soil stabilization depends on soil testing. Various methods are employed to stabilize soil and the method should be verified in the lab with the soil material before applying it on the field. The prime objective of soil stabilization is to improve the California Bearing Ratio of in-situ soils by 4 to 6 times. The other prime objective of soil stabilization is to improve on-site materials to create a solid and strong sub-base and base courses. In certain regions of the world, typically developing countries and now more frequently in developed countries, soil stabilization stabilization is to improve on-site materials to create a solid and strong sub-base and base courses. In certain regions of the world, typically developing countries and now more frequently in developed countries, soil stabilization is being used to construct the entire road.

In the past, soil stabilization was done by utilizing the binding properties of clay soils, cement-based products such as soil cement utilizing the "rammed earth" technique (compaction) and lime. Traditionally and widely accepted types of soil stabilization techniques use products such as bitumen emulsions which can be used as a binding agents for producing a road base. However, bitumen is not environmentally friendly and becomes brittle when it dries out. Portland cement has been used as an alternative to soil stabilization. However, this can often be expensive and is not a very good "green" alternative.

The prime objective of Soil Stabilization is to improve the California Bearing Ratio of in-situ soils by 4 to 6 times. The other prime objective of soil stabilization is to improve on-site materials to create a solid and strong sub-base and base courses. In certain regions of the world, typically developing countries and now more frequently in developed countries, soil stabilization is being used to construct the entire road. Originally, soil stabilization was done by utilizing the binding properties of clay soils, cement-based products such as soil cement, and/or utilizing the "rammed earth" technique (soil compaction) and lime.

Some of the renewable technologies are: enzymes, surfactants, biopolymers, synthetic polymers, co-polymer based products, cross-linking styrene acrylic polymers, tree resins, ionic stabilizers, fiber reinforcement, calcium chloride, calcite, sodium chloride, magnesium chloride and more. Some of these new stabilizing techniques create hydrophobic surfaces and mass that prevent road failure from water penetration or heavy frosts by inhibiting the ingress of water into the treated layer.

Conceptual Design for Real-time Monitoring and Control System for critical assets using JAVA Classes: Case Study of Public Building and Oil & Gas Pipeline security

Critical public assets such as oil and gas pipelines, public buildings, power plants, nuclear plants, public water utility etc needs to be monitored in real time so as to ensure their availability, dependability, safety and security. In this paper, we examined the basic components and architecture of real-time system, which includes real-time control, data acquisition system (DAS), critical systems, sensors and actuators, stimulus and response, Multi Agent System (MAS); design procedures and implementation of real-time systems using JAVA Standard Edition (SE) programming paradigm known as Java classes.

We also examined the pros and cons of JAVA as a programming language compared to other languages such as Assembly Language and Ada. The paper went further to present the design and process architectures and timing requirements for two critical public assets- the oil and gas pipeline and public building involving different types of sensors and actuator interfaces. The paper concluded by implementing JAVA classes for the burglary alarm intruder detection system capable of detecting and reporting any intrusion targeted at critical public buildings.

A Review of design of Binary Golay Code and Extended Binary Golay Code for error correction

A binary Golay code is a type of linear error-correcting code used in digital communications. The two binary Golay codes formats are the Binary Golay Code (23-bit, G23) and Extended Binary Golay code (24-bit, G24). The Golay code encodes 12-bits of data in such a way that it can correct 3-bits of error and detect 7-bits of error. G24 code is also called the Perfect Binary Golay Code. In standard code notation the codes have parameters [24, 12, 8] and [23, 12, 7], corresponding to the length of the codeword, the dimension of the code, and the minimum hamming distance between two codeword.

An efficient implementation in the area of FPGA by using both Golay code (G23) and extended Golay code G(24) can be done by the help of different approaches of the encoding algorithm realizations. High speed with low-latency and less complexity in the design is the major concern at the time of working on FPGA. This paper presents a review on the various works performed by scholars on the design and implementation of Golay Code (G23 and G24).

Bionic Person for Issuing of RTO License

This paper presents a novel approach for the computerization of driving license test system. In existing automated track has been implemented which includes in a driving test a candidate applying for license have to drive over all closed loop path in front of the authorities. He / She should be able to drive over the path without any support by resting his / her foot on the vehicle or land surface. If the candidate fails to do, he / she will be disqualified. The authorities will be watching the candidate manually. In proposed system, No authorities are needed for checking the candidates .

Various sensors has been utilized for watching the candidate fails to their foot in the vehicle by differential output from the sensor can be monitored .The sensors installed are Load Sensor for checking the rest of foot on the vehicle or land surface .Smoke Sensor for checking the amount of smoke released while the accelerator raised. Grip Sensor for maintaining the gear speed.

Gyroscope (Accelerometer Sensor) for checking whether the candidate drives the vehicle in correct direction or not. So, Bribes could not be encouraged for issuing the license and no illegal action will be involved. We can get RTO license easily without any problem.

Bagasse Level Monitoring System

As industrial revolution approaching towards automa-tion they need to upgrade their manufacturing process. We were visited to Siddhanath sugar factory, in boiler section, we found a problem with bagasse silo that it doesn't indicate how much bagasse is in silo. Hence the workers don't know how much amount bagasse in the silo? In all sugar industries the cane after processing is left with the waste product called 'Ĺ“Bagasse'. The Bagasse produced in the mills is used as a fuel to boilers and the generation of steam.

The steam thus produced is expanded in turbines and the power is generated. As the bagasse used for boiler to heat up and it is as per their requirement the bagasse will be used. They are used glass on middle of silo to know the amount of bagasse. But it requires a human being to observe it. Hence to reduce the human errors, we are making a system which will show amount of bagasse in silo.
