Skewing Impact on Stray Losses of an Induction Machine

The amount of electrical energy consumed by rotating machines comes at around 50% of the total power produced around the world. With all the losses in the transmission and distribution network, the amount of power required to be generated at the power utility are far high. So a small change in the efficiency of an electric machine would mean valuable savings in the energy production. The determination of losses in electric machines and tweaking the design of a machine to achieve more efficiency has been a great challenge to mankind in the last century.

Of all the losses, reduction of stray losses in induction machine has been an interesting topic to play with. Studies show that skewing the rotor of an induction machine has changed the stray losses and also the performance of the machine. This article is aimed on analysing the skewing impact on stray losses of an induction machine. Measurement was done on 37 kW induction machine with a skewed and a non-skewed rotor analysing the differences in losses. A locked rotor test was carried out. Simulations were used to predict the behaviour of the machine and mostly direct the analysis to a positive direction. Finite Element Method (FEM) was used to check the plausibility of the measurements and results from analytical models.

FEM results were also used to point the direction of the analysis. A rather preliminary investigation on the effect of skewing shows that skew aids the flow of inter-bar current losses in the machine and hence increases the joule losses in the machine. Measurements at higher frequencies showed that the rotor joule losses are significantly reduced in the rotor cage of a skewed induction machine compared to a non-skewed induction machine. These measurements have shown that skewing has a significant effect on the harmonics produced in the air-gap. Therefore the decision to skew a machine depends more on the application where the motor would be used and all motor parameters.

Design and Fabrication of Mechanical Maize Decobber

Maize, known in many English-speaking countries as corn, is a grain domesticated by indigenous people in prehistoric times. The Aztecs and Mayans cultivated it in numerous varieties throughout central and southern Mexico, to cook or grind. The crop spread throughout America and later around the 1250 BC it spread to all corners of the region. Any significant or dense populations in the region developed a great trade network based on surplus and varieties of maize crops. After European contact with the Americas in the late 15th and early 16th centuries, explorers and traders carried maize back to Europe and introduced it to other countries through trade.

Maize spread to the rest of the world due to its popularity and ability to grow in diverse climates. The existing methods of corn de-husking in agriculture industry consist of breaking the grains by hand or by using large machinery for deseeding, both of which are not effective for a developing economy like India where farmers have little money for investment. Hence there is a need for an innovative idea or product that is feasible, safe, cost effective and productive for the Indian farmer.

Automatic Car Window Opening System by using Oxygen and Sound Sensor

Now a day's maximum car interrupt on air-condition will be attached that is condition may be reduction on oxygen in vehicle full closed system, the oxygen which detecting on less oxygen in vehicle will be there on human being automatic windows open system. The present invention comprises a system and method for automatic opening and closing system on the car windows. This method includes a higher sound and less oxygen element detection sensor which may human being safety consideration work in windows opening system the interior of the automobile by contacting the material when the automobile is left unattended with the automobile power windows in an open or lowered position.

The human oxygen and sound detection sensor accordingly automatically operates the power windows without the intervention of the automobile operator. The system evaluates human Exide the still contacting the automobile and may return the power windows to the position they were in prior to the more amount of oxygen filling sound don't be created windows automatically closed.

Effect of Permittivity on Breakdown characteristic of Transformer oil based Nanofluid

The expansion of forthcoming high voltage network and smart grid has upraised the desires on reliability and performance of insulating materials used in electrical power system to deal with more vigorous and volatile operating conditions. Since from long decades, in conjunction with paper the mineral oil or synthetic oil is mainly being applied as an insulating medium in many of the high voltage apparatuses.

Concomitant development of advanced new materials with high insulation and thermal gains will ensure a significant upgrade in the reliability of liquid-filled power equipment and hence the electrical network. These novel specific desires have brought the challenges to the transformer manufacturing companies to design the transformers with enhanced electrical and thermal properties.

The transformer oil modified by nanotechnology has the potential to switch mineral oil base products in the marketplace due to its superiority in function and definite insulating and thermal properties. This paper discusses on the influence of nanoparticle's permittivity over the electrical performance of transformer oil.

Secure Authentication to Identify the Human using Finger Printer Profile in Voting System

The problem of voting is still critical in terms of safety and security. This paper deals with the design and development of a web-based voting system using fingerprint and adhaar card in order to provide a high performance with high security to the voting system. Also we use web technology to make the voting system more practical. The proposed Online Voting System allows the voters to scan their fingerprint, which is then matched with an already saved image within a database that is retrieved from adhaar card database of the government.

The voting system is managed in a simpler way as all the users must login by adhaar card number and password and click on his/her favorable candidates to cast the vote. In this System we also restrict the Ineligible voters with respect to age. This will increase the voting percentage in India and reduces the cost of voting process. By using biometric fingerprint it provides enough security which reduces the false votes.

Performance Based Seismic Analysis of Buildings

Performance based design explicitly evaluate how a building is likely to perform given the potential hazard it is likely to experience , considering uncertainties inherent in the quantification of potential hazard and uncertainties in assessment of the actual building response. It is an iterative process that begins with selection of performance objective, followed by the development of a preliminary design assessment as to whether or not the design meets the performance objective and finally redesign and reassessment if required until the desired performance level is achieved.

In present study two R.C. buildings, one rectangular and one square in plan are analyzed using pushover analysis and redesigning by changing the reinforcement in columns. The pushover analysis is carried out using Etabs 2015. A Six storied buildings are considered to be located in Zone IV with Hard soil strata

Automatic PVC Pipe Cutting Machine

Pipe cutting operation plays the important role in pipe extruding industries. In small scale industries the pipe cutting operation in pipe extruding company is done by manual operation. During manual cutting the chip formation is high also there may be a chance of cross cutting of the pipe. These cross cutting occurs due to the tight holding of the pipe. Such that to avoid these kinds of difficulties the pipe cutting operation is done by pneumatically controlled systems. The working of the system is to carry out three processes feeding, clamping and then cutting. The main concern is to regulate the pressure conferring to requirement.

The chief work of this system is to slice out huge number of jobs in pipe form rendering to the batch production. The arrangement of the pneumatic valves deployed in this system is accordance to the circuit planned. Automation in the modern world is inevitable. Any automatic machine aimed at the economical use of man, machine, and material worth the most. The pipe feeding and cutting machine works with the help of pneumatic double acting cylinder. The piston is connected to the moving cutting tool the machine is portable in size, so easy transportable.
