Framework for Safety Critical System Software

U R Rao Satellite Centre URSC is the lead centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation in the development and operationalisation of satellites for communication, navigation and remote sensing applications. It also has launched many interplanetary missions. Now execution of “GAGANYAAN” is planned in phase manner. In the initial phase, test vehicles will be used to demonstrate the abort capability during different phases of mission i.e. development and qualification testing of Crew Escape System CES and recovery. Subsequently, two unmanned flights are planned prior to human spaceflight to demonstrate the manned mission capabilities. As humans are involved software safety plays a critical role. Presently ISRO is having ISRO Software Process Document ISPD based on IEEE 12207 2015 framework for software life cycle activities. For Gaganyaan project considering safety in to picture additional software safety standard is brought out based on DO178C. To develop and certify safety critical software ISRO software control board has brought out the ISRO software safety standard for a transition from mission critical software to safety critical software development. This paper discusses how to incorporate safety and security standard in addition to the existing ISPD standard.

Fraction Step Method for Solving Incompressible Navier Stokes Equation

This paper contains the method used to solve Incompressible Navier Stokes INS equation. This study is conducted to see how the methods used in this paper gives a solution over a particular domain. Fraction Step Method is used for solving INS equation. Non dimensional equation is taken for formulation. It is solved in two parts. With first part, intermediate velocity is calculated. Then next part is used to calculate pressure. Once pressure is obtained, then velocity is corrected for next time step. This is called Pressure correction method. This process is continued until steady state solution is obtained. After that, vorticity is calculated, and plotted. These plots are analyzed and compared with the experimental solution. Further a conclusion is made regarding whole paper.

Quantum Computing Pinning Down the Age of Universe

Hubble, The advance technology leads to many discoveries in Astronomy world. One of them is estimating the age of universe. This paper provides an Overview on how Hubble, its Scientific instruments, Communication Technology, Computer Systems, Data processing and Analysis makes the scientists to estimate the correct enough age of the Universe. This paper also focuses on many aspects that leads to success of this theory. This paper also talks about calculating the age of stars by their variant factors, their clusters, formations and how Hubble also opens up the mystery about the Expansion of Universe, which is also known as "The Hubble Constant". This paper give light to the future by using advance technologies, high tech scientific instruments, high end communication systems and very powerful super computers under Quantum Computing.

Biosynthesis of Eco-Friendly Silver Nano-Particles: The Efficiency of Fresh Leaves and Dried Leaves in the Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles

Biosynthesis of Eco-friendly Silver Nano-Particles: The Efficiency of Fresh Leaves and Dried Leaves in the Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles was studied. The work started with the sourcing and preparation of the dried and fresh leave extracts, which was followed by the preparation of 0.01M AgNO3 solution. The biosynthesis process was carried out for 1 hr. however, for the production of the AgNPs for analysis and characterization; the biosynthesis process was allowed to continue for 24 hours, after which it was filtered and the residue on the filter paper was dried in the oven at 110oC to remove water from the particles.

The chemical composition of the AgNPs was analysed using ED-XRF. The result showed 71.8% Ag2O; the oxygen must have been surface-attached and not chemically attached in the structure of the particles. Qualitative analysis using laser light pointer, observation of precipitates formation and colour change were used to establish NPs formation. During the biosynthesis process both the measured pH and electronic conductivity of the solutions changed; indicating that reduction process was going on.

The work clearly and concisely showed that the four dried leaves extracts (azadirachtaindica, telfairiaoccidentalis, vernoniaamydalina, and camellia sinensis) used produced better NPs in terms of quantity and quality than their fresh leaves extract counterparts. A. indica fresh leave extract was however, better than the other two fresh leaves of telfairiaoccidentalis and vernoniaamydalina.

The heavy and thick chlorophyll may have interfered in the effectiveness of the fresh leaves. This is because the dried leaves extract had less chlorophyll and were very effective in reducing silver ions to Ag0 nanoparticles in AgNO3 solution.
