Air Cushion Mobility System

In any industry we use various material handling system. Most of them required high power and energy but in Air Cushion Mobility System requires less power and effort to move considerable heavy load. An air cushion mobility system is any system that employs a cushion of air the load from the ground. Air casters are systems which use air pressure to facilitate the movement materials in the industry. It uses continuous air pressure to create a cushion of air upon which the load platform floats.

An air caster is a pneumatic lifting device used to move heavy loads on flat, nonporous surfaces. Its operation is similar to a hovercraft, as it uses a thin layer of air as a way to float a very small distance off the ground. Compressed air enters an airbag shaped like a torus, and when the bag is filled it creates an airtight seal with the ground, and forces more air into the centre of torus, eventually causing the air to flow over the bag and to raise the load above the ground.

IoT Based Smart Farming in a Agriculture

Internet of Things IOT advances can be used in smart farming to enhance quality of agriculture. Agriculture the backbone of Indian economy, contributes to the overall economic growth of the country. The paper aims making use of evolving technology. Monitoring environmental factors is the major factor to improve the yield of the efficient crops. The features of this paper includes detection of leaf disease, server based remote monitoring system, temperature sensing, Soil Moisture Sensing etc.

It makes use of sensors networks for measurement of moisture, temperature and humidity instead of manual check. Various Sensors are deployed in various locations of farms, to control all these sensors it has been used one controller called Raspberry PI RPI and pic microcontroller. Leaf disease can be detected by the camera interfacing with RPI. Immediate status of a farm like a leaf disease and other environmental factors affecting crop like temperature and moisture is sent using WIFI Server through RPI to the farmers0and also message alert0will be sent to the owner0about the field0conditions through0mobile.

Simulation and Modelling of Pipeline Corrosion and Integrity Management in Oil and Gas Industry

In this research work, Monte Carlo Simulation and degradation models were used to predict the corrosion rate and reliability of crude oil pipelines. Discrete random numbers simulated from Inline Inspection Data were used to predict the corrosion rate using Linear and Power Law Model. The mean time for failure MTFF was estimated with the degradation models. The result of the study shows that the degradation models and Monte Carlo simulation can predict the corrosion rate of the pipelines to an accuracy of between 83.05-98.33 and 84.24- 97.94 respectively. From the plot the lowest degradation recorded was 1.67 Power law and highest 16.95 Power Law , for Linear Model Law, the lowest value recorded was 2.11 while the highest is 15.23 . In comparison to the value obtained from Monte Carlo Simulation 2.01 lowest and 15.76 highest , all the values fall between 1.67 to16.95 . Thus, RMSE of between 1.67 and 16.95 was recorded for the degradation models. Therefore, the statistical models give the expected number of failures. The results of the statistical models can be used in reliability analysis, risk analysis, and optimum maintenance decisions.

Tribologoical Properties of Vinyl Ester Based Hybrid Composite with Tio2, Al2o3 and Mos2 Fillers

Composite materials play a vital role in many industrial applications. Researchers are working on fabrication of new composite materials worldwide to enhance the applicability of these materials. In view of this the mechanical performance of the composite material is essential. The aim of this project is to assist in the main objective of optimizing the quantity of the filler material Al2O3, TiO2 and MoS2. Thus the mechanical properties as well as the wear properties of 7.5 , 10 and 12.5 of the filler material as mentioned above has been investigated to obtain an optimum composition for the application in suitable fields.

The purpose of this project is to perform an experimental study of the pin on disc wear of neat Vinyl Ester and Al2O3, TiO2 and MoS2 filler of 7.5 , 10 and 12.5 filled particulate reinforced composites have been investigated along with the subsequent study of the Wear Properties of the material with the intention to contribute to the final aim of optimizing the composition of the composite material.

The investigation is carried out by mixing different weight percentages of the powder with the polyester resin and preparing individual samples. After CSM preparation, the materials were properly mixed using the hand-lay techniques and different specimens were prepared with different compositions of the powder. After all the samples were prepared, Wear Testing is done by pin on disc Wear Testing Machine in ASTM-G99 standard using abrasive paper. The load applied 1KN , 2KN and 3KN in this experiment with sliding distances of 353.25m , 706.5 and 1059.75m respectively.

Performance Evaluation of the Effect of pH and Temperature on the Biogas Yield of Co-Digestion of Pig Manure and Water Hyacinth

In this research work, the effect of pH and temperature on the biogas yield of co-digestion of Pig manure and water hyacinth were investigated experimentally in laboratory scale anaerobic bioreactors. The co-digestion was run for a Hydraulic Retention Time thirty six days. The volumetric yield of biogas was noted once there is biogas build up at regular intervals using water displacement method. A total of ten evacuations were made and the data obtained was used to evaluate the effect of the aforementioned anaerobic digestion parameters. The experimental results revealed that a neutral pH value of 7 yielded optimum biogas yields compared to a pH value above and below 7. Moreover, from all the experimental mesophilic temperature used in this research work, an optimum mesophilic temperature of 37 oC favoured the optimum biogas yield.

Smart Water Monitoring System using Cloud Service

Water is the basic need for survival. Hence, the wastage of it is not tolerable. Water scarcity is the lack of sufficient available water resources to meet water needs within a region. Its effects are spread all over the world and around 2.8 billion people are affected by it. More than 1.2 billion people lack access to clean drinking water. Therefore, water monitoring has become an important subject of matter. The project Water Monitoring System for Smart Village using cloud service, as the name says it is all about monitoring of water right from small villages, townships to entire urban infrastructure.

The project deals with the efficient monitoring of water using Internet of Things IoT technology enabled by sensors. The sensor network can be flexible expanded and shrunk according to the requirements of setup. It is used for remotely controlling the water flow, cutting the water supply, monitoring and analyzing the water usage across the nodes, with the help of cloud connectivity. Further, more statistical data can be gathered and can be used by govt. authorities for defining policies, strategies and billing calculations. So ultimately, this will help to conserve and efficiently utilize the natural resource. Using IoT takes into account of waste wastage right from small village to large scale. It can also control the water usage in a precise way.

With the increase in world population, vehicle production, giant industrialization and slow paced city development more and more parking spaces and facilities are required. With the advancement in technology now we can relate technology with our normal parking system resulting a development of a new era of parking system called as smart parking system. In this paper a new parking system called smart parking system to assist drivers to find vacant spaces in short time. This parking system works in two phases. In 1st phase the detection of vehicles in various parking slots using various sensors takes place, while the 2nd phase aimed at communicating the collected data to user remotely. The SPS provide various advantages including vacant parking space detection, improper parking detection, payment methods
