Design and Analysis of Mixed Flow Pump Impeller

Mixed flow pump impeller is a centrifugal pump device where the transition of fluid flow takes place in both axial and radial direction. In this work a mixed flow pump impeller has been designed using CATIA V5 software tool and analyzed using the fundamentals of fluid mechanics and turbo machinery. As per many researchers there are many methods are used to design the impeller but still the optimized design of the mixed flow pump impeller blade has been a cumbersome work.

The impeller blades have been designed by varying the semi cone angle. The CFD analysis is the advanced tool used in pump industry to improve the efficiency hence the CFD analysis is carried over the model to predict analytical values and to solve problems the problems that involves the fluid flow using ANSYS workbench 16.0. Because of its anti corrosive property stainless steel is used as material for impeller and water liquid used as a fluent which flow around the impeller. From the CFD analysis the velocity and pressure in the outlet is predicted. The outlet values will be useful for calculating the efficiency of the pump.

Secondary Filtration of Closed Loop in DC Locomotive

The use of hydraulics has increased tremendously in the recent past due to the various advantages it provides such as high power to weight ratio, elimination of complex components, ease of transportation and safety to name a few. Moreover the main advantage that hydraulic locomotives provide over conventional locomotives is constant velocity. Though there are various advantages to using hydraulics, contamination of working fluid poses a severe threat to components such as premature wear of components, a corrosion of components which would require replacing them well before their life incurring significant loss. Contamination of hydraulic fluids cannot be prevented or eliminated but can be contained to a certain extent. The safe levels of contamination are arrived at by comparing to recommended oil cleanliness values defined by NAS. Even though hydraulic systems are provided with an in built filter known as primary filter to remove solid or particulate impurities at cleanliness value at recommended levels. The controlling of contamination levels in the hydraulic oil by use another filtration unit externally, will reduce the level of contamination significantly and increases the life of the hydraulic drive system. To monitor the level of contamination of various sizes closely, a particle counter added to the additional unit proves to be beneficial. This project investigates the change in level of contamination in the working fluid after addition of the secondary filtration unit.

Design and Fabrication of Thermo Electric Refrigerator

In the recent years, we have many problems such as energy crises and environment degradation due to increasing CO2 emissions on ozone layer depletion has become the primary concern to both developed and developing countries. Using thermo electric module is going to be one of the most effective, clean and environment friendly system. The main advantage of the thermoelectric refrigerator is no need of any refrigerant and mechanical devices like compressor, prime mover, etc for its operation. Thermo electric refrigerator works on the principle of Peltier effect, when a direct current is passed between two electrically dissimilar materials heat is absorbed or liberated at the junction. The direction of the heat flow depends on the direction of applied electric current. The materials used for the thermo electric refrigerator are Silicon germanium and its alloys. The main objective is to design and fabrication of thermo electric refrigerator with an interior cooling volume of 0.0258m3

Friction Stir Spot Welding of Aluminium Alloy AA6063

Friction stir spot welding FSSW is a simplest and quick process for joining aluminium alloys of AA6063 . The FSSW it is a different welding for other resistance spot welding. Aluminium sheets used in Aeorospace applications, high speed trains, ship buildings and also automotive industries. By using aluminium alloys we can reduce the weight of the body.in friction stir spot welding FSSW process radial drilling machine was used as a main component for increase Tool speed and Feed. For this FSSW process on aluminium Alloy the spectial friction stir tool is prepared to spot weld. H13 and EN36 material drill bits used as friction stir spot welding tools. By using aluminium alloys increasing the safety performance. FSSW is as solid state welding technique. I this FSSW process the heat generate between friction stir tool and aluminium alloys. By producing this heat we can make a accurate joint. In this joining processby the help of producing heat metal will be method and comes into solid state then the joint will be done.

PCA and DCT Based Approach for Face Recognition

Recognizing the identity of the target. The research of face recognition has great theoretical value involving subject of pattern recognition, image processing, computer vision, machine learning, and physiology and so on, and it also has a high correlation with other biometrics recognition methods. In recent years, face recognition is one of the most active and challenging problems in the field of pattern recognition and artificial intelligence. Face recognition has a lot of advantages which are not involved in biometrics recognition methods such as nonaggressive, friendly, conveniently, and so on .Therefore, face recognition has a prospective application foreground, such as the criminal identification, security system, file management, entrance guard system, and so on . Research in the field of face recognition knew considerable progress during these last years. Among the most evoked techniques we find those which employ the optimization of the size of the data in order to get a representation which makes it possible to carry out the recognition. For these methods, the images of faces are seen like points in a space of very great dimensions. The face space is defined by Eigen face which are eigenvectors of the set of faces. In the DCT approach we take transform the image into the frequency domain and extract the feature from it. For feature extraction we use two approach. In the 1st approach we take the DCT of the whole image and extract the feature from it. In the 2nd approach we divide the image into sub images and take DCT of each of them and then extract the feature vector from them.

Design and Working of Pedal Operated Flour Mill

Due to industrial development, use of natural fuel is increasing continuously that's why there is need of alternating source of senergy. Eg Human energy. To reduce use of natural fuel we can use bicycle technology to run a machine using human power. Dynapods Greek word for power and foot. Dynapods can be run by one or two person. We are transmitting rotary motion from paddle to wheel of mill. Human input is low as compare to hand operated machine

Identification of Disease in Leaves using Genetic Algorithm

Plant disease is an impairment of normal state of a plant that interrupts or modifies its vital functions. Many leaf diseases are caused by pathogens. Agriculture is the mains try of the Indian economy. Perception of human eye is not so much stronger so as to observe minute variation in the infected part of leaf. In this paper, we are providing software solution to automatically detect and classify plant leaf diseases. In this we are using image processing techniques to classify diseases and quickly diagnosis can be carried out as per disease. This approach will enhance productivity of crops. It includes image processing techniques starting from image acquisition, preprocessing, testing, and training.
