Classification of Mango Fruit Varieties using Naive Bayes Algorithm

Mangos are an important agricultural commodity in the global market for fresh products. In Myanmar, the type of mango called SeinTaLone is the best taste and the most people like it. Another type of mango called MaSawYin is not good taste but it is visually similar to the SeinTaLone. So, some people are difficult to classify the mango varieties. A means for distinguishing mango varieties is needed and therefore, some reliable technique is needed to discriminate varieties rapidly and non destructively. The main objective of this research was to classify the varieties of mango fruit that occur in Myanmar using Naive Bayes algorithm. The methodology involved image acquisition, pre processing and segmentation, feature extraction and classification of mango varieties. A method for classifying varieties of mangos using image processing technique is proposed in this paper. RGB image was first converted to HSV image. Then by using edge detection method and morphological operation, region of interest was segmented by taking into account only the HUE component image of the HSV image. Later, a total of 4 shape features and 13 texture features were extracted. Extracted features were given as inputs to a Naive Byaesian classifier to classify the test images as each type. The data set used had 50 mango images for each varieties of mango for training and 20 images of mango for each variety for testing.

Four IR Sensor Based Automatic Control of Railway Gate using Microcontroller

This paper investigates based on four IR sensor automatic control of railway gate using a microcontroller system. There are so many railway accidents happening due to the carelessness in manual operations or lack of worker. So, this paper describes four IR sensor based automatic control of railway gate system for saving precious human lives and preventing major disasters in railway track. Railway gate may be saved for the road users to prevent accidents in terms of train speed at a level crossing. Automatic railway gate control system is an innovative circuit which automatically controls the operation of railway gates detecting the arrival and departure of train at the gate. This automatic system can be replaced by the gates operated by the gatekeeper. The operation using Arduino UNO that integrated with other circuits involved such as power supply, IR sensors, light indicators, buzzer, and gate motors. The servo motor is used to control the open and close status of the railway crossing gate. The four IR sensors are placed on the railway tracks. The gate is closed when the first one senses the train and is opened when the second one senses the train. This operation is performed when the train is coming from the left side of the gate. When the train is coming from the right side, the third and fourth sensors is performed in the same operation. The red LED is HIGH when the gate is closed and the green LED is HIGH when the gate is opened. This system is based on software programming to operate the hardware structure. Program for four IR sensor based automatic control of railway gate system is based on Arduino UNO with C language. The main function of the design is Arduino UNO.

Colour Detector and Separator Based on Microcontroller

Sorting of objects is one of the most important tasks in the industries. Sorting machines can be made by using the sensor, camera, microcontroller and image processing system, etc., based on colour, size and shape of the objects. Among these systems, colour sorting machines are widely used in most industries to sort various coloured objects. This thesis describes the design and implementation of colour detection and sorting machine by using Arduino, colour sensor and two servo motors. In this system, a top servo motor is used for placing the object to the colour sensor which detects the RGB values of the object and then sends the information to Arduino. Then bottom servo motor will move according to the angle of respective degree which is command in the code depending on the RGB values of the object and then the object which is over the slider drops into the container. Servo motor is used to substitute the human operator and Arduino is used to controlling the overall process.

Arduino Based Voice Generator Text to Speech Robot

This paper investigates based on Arduino voice generator text to speech robot. Voice generator text to speech robot system is very beneficial in areas where there is high risk for humans to enter. Voice generator text to speech robot system is controlled voice commands. The integration of the control unit with the Bluetooth device is achieved using a Bluetooth module to capture and read the voice commands. The controlling device may be any smartphone. The transmitter uses an android application required for transmitting the data. The receiver end reads these commands and interprets them into controlling the robotic vehicle. The android application sends commands to move the vehicle in forward, backward, left and right directions. Then, stop commands to stop the vehicle. After receiving the commands, Arduino operates the motors in order to move the vehicle in four directions and stop. The communication between android application and receiver is sent as serial communication data. Arduino program is designed to move the motor through a motor driver circuit as per the commands. The camera is interfaced to record the forward movement of the robot system which also includes night vision camera which will not only allow viewing whatever will be recorded in day time but also during the night.

Liquid Level and Photoelectric Sensors Based Automatic Liquid Mixing and Filling Machine System using PLC

Today the application of PLC is more widely used in the digital world. There are many applications of PLC especially in the industrial. Normally, the PLCs that have been used at the industrial field are usually to control the machine or heavy machine in order to create an efficient production process. In this paper, a discussion about PLC application will be explained in more details and specified. A machine that uses to prepare automatic liquid mixing and filling machine system is controlled by Delta PLC which is also the heart of the entire system. The DVP 14SS2 from the Delta PLC types is used and WPL soft is used to write the ladder logic. The PLC can control many other electronic devices such as pump motor, level sensors, photoelectric sensor, conveyor belt, gear motor, solenoid valve, push buttons, relays and other devices. The main aim of the paper is to develop and test the real time implementation of PLC based liquid mixing and filling machine system. Firstly, start button is pushed. The liquids juice and water are mixed in the mixer tank by using valves. The level sensors know limited liquid levels and mixer motor starts stirring. The mixer motor is ON by timer. When the stirring process stops, the conveyor belt starts moving. When the cup passes photoelectric sensor, conveyor belt stops and then the pump motor fills the liquid mixture in the cup by timer. When the cup completes filling process, the pump motor closes and conveyor belt runs continuously. When another cup passes the photoelectric sensor, conveyor belt stops. Filling process operates again and again.

Voice Transmission System Based on Laser Torch

This paper is designed for voice transmission system based on laser torch. In this system, it has two parts transmitting section and receiving section. The transmitting section mainly comprises with condenser microphone, IC 741, BC 548, BD 139 and laser torch. The receiving section composes with L14f1 photo transistor, LM 386 and Loud speaker. If there is any obstruction in the path of the laser beam, no sound will be heard from the receiver. The gain of the op amp can be controlled with the help of 1 mega ohm pot meter variable resistor. The AF output from the amplifier is coupled to the base of transistor BD 139, which in turn, modulates the laser beam. The receiver circuit uses NPN photo transistor as the light sensor that is followed by two stage transistor preamplifier and LM 386 based audio power amplifier. The receiver does not need any complicated alignment. The photo transistor is kept towards the remote transmitter's laser point and the volume control is adjusted for a clear sound.

Customer Churn Prediction using Association Rule Mining

Customer churn is one of the most important metrics for a growing business to evaluate. It is a business term used to describe the loss of clients or customers. In the retail sales and marketing company, customers have multiple choices of services and they frequently switch from one service to another. In these competitive markets, customers demand best products and services at low prices, while service providers constantly focus on getting hold of as their business goals. An increase in customer retention of just 5 can create at least a 25 increase in profit. Therefore, customer churn rate is important because it costs more to acquire new customers than it does to retain existing customers. In this paper, we apply the method to the retail sales and marketing company customer churn data set. This paper provides an extended overview of the literature on the use of data mining in customer churn prediction modeling. It will help the retail sales and marketing company to present the targeted customers with the estimated loss of clients or customers for the promotion in direct marketing.
